The rhea (Rhea americana) is a large running bird of the ratite family, native to South America. Oil extracted from rhea fat tissue is used in cosmetic manufacture. Here, the thermal behaviour and the fatty acid and triacylglycerol composition of Uruguayan rhea oil are studied. The results are compared with those obtained from two commercial samples of emu oil. The fatty acid profiles of emu and rhea oils are similar. Small variations are reflected in the non‐identical thermal behaviour of the oils. The solid content of both oils is fairly similar at room temperature. Thus, emu oil and rhea oil may replace one another in certain formulations, without resulting in important changes in physicochemical behaviour. The semisolid rhea oil was fractionated in two successive stages: an olein was obtained at 15 °C, which was refractionated at 10 °C. The thermogram of the olein obtained by cooling at 15 °C does not have the peak found at 34 °C in the thermogram of the original oil and is a softer product than the original oil. A further stage of fractionation of this olein produced a new liquid phase of slightly different thermal behaviour from that of the original olein. This product has a solid fat index around 7% at 15 °C and has melted completely at 20 °C. This second olein has more appropriate physical characteristics than those of the olein obtained from the first fractionation when used in liquid cosmetic formulations.  相似文献

In this paper, manufacturing technology of the tubular single lap adhesive joint was studied to obtain reliable and optimal joint quality. In addition, a surface preparation method and a bonding process for the joint were devised. The effect of the adhesive thickness and the adherend roughness on the fatigue strength of the joint was experimentally investigated. From experiments, it has been found that the fatigue strength of the joint increased as the adhesive thickness decreased and the optimal arithmetic surface roughness of the adherends was about 2 μm.  相似文献

Traditional Byzantine consensus in distributed systems requires n ≥ 3f + 1, where n is the number of nodes. In this paper, we present a scalable and leaderless Byzantine consensus implementation based on gossip, requiring only n ≥ 2f + 1 nodes. Unlike conventional distributed systems, the network topology of cloud computing systems is often not fully connected, but loosely coupled and layered. Hence, we revisit the Byzantine consensus problem in cloud computing environments, in which each node maintains some number of neighbors, called local view. The message complexity of our Byzantine consensus scheme is O(n), instead of O(n 2). Experimental results and correctness proof show that our Byzantine consensus scheme can solve the Byzantine consensus problem safely in a scalable way without a bottleneck and a leader in cloud computing environments.  相似文献

This article describes the design of a linearizing, observer‐based, robust dynamic feedback control scheme for output reference trajectory tracking tasks in a leader‐follower non‐holonomic car formation problem. The approach is based on the cars' kinematic models. A radical simplification in the form of a global ultra‐model is proposed on the follower's exact open loop position tracking error dynamics obtained via flatness considerations. This results in a system described by an additively disturbed set of two, second order integrators with non‐linear velocity dependent control input gain matrix. The unknown additive disturbances are modeled as absolutely uniformly bounded time signals which may be locally approximated by arbitrary elements of a sufficiently high degree family of Taylor polynomials. Linear high‐gain Luenberger observers of the generalized proportional integral (GPI) type may be readily designed. These observers include the self updating internal model of the unknown disturbance input vector components in the form of generic, instantaneous, time‐polynomial models. The proposed (GPI) observers, which are the dual counterpart of GPI controllers [17], achieve a simultaneous disturbance estimation and tracking error phase variables estimation. This on‐line gathered information is used to advantage on the follower's feedback controller thus allowing for a simple, yet efficient, disturbance and control input gain cancelation effort. The results are applied to have the follower track a time‐delayed version of the actual leader's trajectory. Experimental results are presented which illustrate the robustness and viability of the proposed approach.  相似文献

This paper introduces a novel solution for the multi‐input multi‐output (MIMO) quantitative feedback theory control design problem with tracking error specifications. Looking for a minimum controller overdesign, the technique finds new controller quantitative feedback theory bounds based on necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of suitable associated prefilter matrix elements. It improves previous approaches to the subject and includes (i) the possibility of a free selection of the nominal plant, (ii) a less conservative application of the Schwartz inequality to decisively reduce the potential controller overdesign, (iii) a methodology to design independently the elements of the prefilter matrix, and (iv) a scope of application to both sequential and nonsequential MIMO controller design methods. The benefits of the new control design technique are illustrated by means of two examples. The first one, a standard 2 × 2 MIMO problem, is provided for comparison purposes with previous approaches. With the wide application of fiber-reinforced composite materials in aircraft, space structures and robot arms, the design and manufacture of composite joints have become a very important research area because they are often the weakest areas in composite structures.

In this paper, the stress and torque transmission capabilities of the adhesively-bonded tubular single lap joint and the double lap joint were experimentally tested. In order to compare the experimental results with the calculated results, the stress and torque transmission capabilities were analyzed by the 3-dimensional finite element method taking into consideration the nonlinear properties of the adhesive.

From the experiments it was found that the torque transmission capabilities of the adhesively-bonded double lap joint was 2.7 times as large as that of the single lap joint. Also, it was found that the fatigue limit of the double lap joint was 16 times as large as that of the single lap joint.  相似文献

The oxidation behavior of the titanium aluminides Ti-50Al and Ti-48Al-5Nb has been investigated in Ar+20%O2 and in air at 900°C. Thermogravimetric studies in combination with structural analyses using optical metallography, SEM/EDX and X-ray diffraction show a marked influence of nitrogen on the composition and growth rate of the oxide scales. For a more detailed study concerning the effect of nitrogen on the scale-growth kinetics, thermogravimetrical analyses were carried out during which the gas atmosphere was changed from air to Ar–O2, and vice versa, without intermediate cooling of the specimen. The results show, that nitrogen adversely affects the formation of the initially formed alumina scale and that it enhances the growth rate of the rapidly growing Ti-rich oxide. This effect was observed in both alloys investigated, although the thermogravimetric results at first sight indicated an opposite effect for the Nb-containing alloy. This apparent contradiction is caused by internal oxidation which occurs in this alloy during exposure in Ar–O2.  相似文献

Coatings of the MCrAlY type (M = Ni, Co) are commonly used as overlay coatings and as bond coats (BC's) for ceramic thermal barrier coatings (TBC's) in industrial gas turbines. During high temperature service the MCrAlY coatings form aluminium based surface oxide scales. The technologically most relevant properties of the oxide scales, growth rate and adherence do not only depend on the exact MCrAlY composition but also on the surface condition after coating manufacturing. Depending on the coating manufacturing process, the MCrAlY surfaces may substantially differ in roughness. In addition the coatings may be subjected to surface treatments (e.g. shot peening, grinding or smoothening prior to deposition of TBC). In the present work the effect of the surface roughness commonly prevailing in the case of vacuum plasma sprayed MCrAlY coatings on the morphology and composition of the alumina scales formed during high-temperature oxidation was studied. For this purpose free standing coatings with rough and polished surfaces were oxidised in the temperature range from 800 to 1100 °C with exposure times up to 1000 h. The surface scale composition and morphology were analysed by optical metallography and SEM. Fluorescence spectroscopy was used for stress measurements in the oxide scales. It has been found that the oxide scales formed on rough surfaces of MCrAlY coatings have an intrinsically different morphology and growth rate compared to those formed on the flat ground surfaces.  相似文献

Ni−B film of 1 μm thickness was electrolessly deposited on an electroplated Cu bus electrode. The film, which encapsulates the Cu bus electrodes, prevents Cu oxidation and serves as a diffusion barrier against Cu contamination of the transparent dielectric layer in a plasma display during the firing process at 580 °C. The microstructure of theas-deposited barrier film was amorphous phase and crystallized to Ni and Ni3B after annealing at 300 °C. The good barrier properties observed here can be explained by Ni3B precipitates at the grain boundaries acting as a fast diffusion path via pre-annealing at 300 °C before the firing process at 580 °C.  相似文献

One issue in the dynamic simulation of flexible multibody system is poor computation efficiency, which is due to high frequency components in the solution associated with a deformable body. Standard explicit numerical methods should take very small time steps in order to satisfy the absolute stability condition for the high frequency components and, in turn, the computational efficiency deteriorates. In this study, a hybrid integration scheme is applied to solve the equations of motion of a flexible multibody system for achieving better computational efficiency. The computation times and simulation results are compared between the hybrid scheme and conventional methods. The results demonstrate that the efficiency of a flexible multibody simulation can be improved by using the hybrid scheme.  相似文献
