To test the effects of the annual fluctuation of the environmental factors on the starch properties in potato tuber development, starches were isolated from potato cultivars grown for ten consecutive years (2001–2010) on the experimental farm in Memuro, Hokkaido, the northernmost island of Japan. The median granule size, phosphorus content, and rapid visco‐analyzer pasting properties, peak viscosity, breakdown, and pasting temperature of these starches were analyzed. Daily temperature and precipitation records in Memuro were obtained from the Japan Meteorological Agency. Moreover, the correlation coefficients of yearly accumulated temperature and precipitation from flowering to harvesting with all the starch quality parameters were calculated. No relationships of accumulated temperature with median granule size, peak viscosity, and breakdown were found. The low phosphorus content was slightly associated with the high accumulated temperature. The pasting temperature was significantly and positively correlated with the accumulated temperature, suggesting that the pasting temperature strongly responds to the environmental temperature during potato tuber development. In contrast, all the starch quality parameters were almost irrespective of the precipitation during potato tuber development.  相似文献

Abstract

Low temperature fired ceramics based on alumina/glass added oxide ceramics have been developed and are being used by several companies as substrates for high density assembled modular packaging.1–3 The features of low temperature fireable substrates are the cofireability with highly conductive metals such as Ag, Ag-Pd, or Cu, and the cofireability with other passive component materials for L, C, R and relatively low dielectric constant elements. But most of these substrates have the disadvantage that their thermal expansion coefficient is not perfectly compatible with Si or GaAs. This paper reports the results of a newly developed cordierite/glass based substrate employing Cu as the surface and internal conductors and having the freedom of tuning the thermal expansion coefficient by changing the composition. The ceramic composition with adjustable thermal expansion coefficient value of 3 to 7 ppm/°C can be manufactured and easily matched with the thermal expansion coefficient of Si or GaAs without a big change of electrical performance.  相似文献

This paper introduces a new concept of testability called consecutive testability and proposes a design-for-testability method for making a given SoC consecutively testable based on integer linear programming problem. For a consecutively testable SoC, testing can be performed as follows. Test patterns of a core are propagated to the core inputs from test pattern sources (implemented either off-chip or on-chip) consecutively at the speed of system clock. Similarly the test responses are propagated to test response sinks (implemented either off-chip or on-chip) from the core outputs consecutively at the speed of system clock. The propagation of test patterns and responses is achieved by using interconnects and consecutive transparency properties of surrounding cores. All interconnects can be tested in a similar fashion. Therefore, it is possible to test not only logic faults but also timing faults that require consecutive application of test patterns at the speed of system clock since the consecutively testable SoC can achieve consecutive application of any test sequence at the speed of system clock.  相似文献

While the space volume of mufflers in a venting system gets constrained, shape optimization to maximize the muffler's performance becomes important and essential. This paper presents a genetic algorithm (GA) for the optimal shape design of mufflers. The four‐pole matrix method which was adopted in evaluating the acoustic performance of sound transmission loss (STL) is used in conjunction with the GA techniques. Case studies of the full band noise inside a venting system are exemplified by the reactive mufflers. Before the GA operation, several examples are tested and compared with the experimental data for accuracy check of the mathematical models. We determined whether tumor cells consistently generating granulocyte/macrophage colony- stimulating factor (GM-CSF) can recruit and activate macrophages to generate angiostatin and, hence, inhibit the growth of distant metastasis. Two murine melanoma lines, B16-F10 (syngeneic to C57BL/6 mice) and K-1735 (syngeneic to C3H/HeN mice), were engineered to produce GM-CSF. High GM-CSF (>1 ng/10(6) cells)- and low GM-CSF (<10 pg/10(6) cells)-producing clones were identified. Parental, low, and high GM-CSF-producing cells were injected subcutaneously into syngeneic and into nude mice. Parental and low-producing cells produced rapidly growing tumors, whereas the high-producing cells produced slow-growing tumors. Macrophage density inversely correlated with tumorigenicity and directly correlated with steady state levels of macrophage metalloelastase (MME) mRNA. B16 and K-1735 subcutaneous (s.c.) tumors producing high levels of GM-CSF significantly suppressed lung metastasis of 3LL, UV-2237 fibrosarcoma, K-1735 M2, and B16-F10 cells, but parental or low-producing tumors did not. The level of angiostatin in the serum directly correlated with the production of GM-CSF by the s.c. tumors. Macrophages incubated with medium conditioned by GM-CSF- producing B16 or K-1735 cells had higher MME activity and generated fourfold more angiostatin than control counterparts. These data provide direct evidence that GM-CSF released from a primary tumor can upregulate angiostatin production and suppress growth of metastases.  相似文献

Extramedullary plasmacytoma (EMP) is a very rare disease and mainly arises in the head and neck area. We herein reported a case of EMP arising in the retroperitoneal space. A 46-year-old man was referred to our outpatient clinic in November 1989 with the complaint of flank pain on the left side. Radiological examinations showed a tumor formation in the retroperitoneal space, which involved the left kidney, spleen and pancreas. Immunoelectrophoresis showed an elevation of serum IgG level and a spike of M-protein was detected in the serum protein electrophoresis. No bone lesions were detected, and bone marrow aspiration showed no abnormal cells. US-guided needle biopsy of the tumor led to the histological diagnosis as plasmacytoma of the IgG-kappa type. Following three cycles of preoperative chemotherapy (a THP-COP regimen), which resulted in a size reduction of the tumor by 40%, extensive resection of the tumor including extirpation of the left kidney, spleen, and tail of pancreas was performed. Because of tumor extension into the posterior wall of the stomach, however, the surgery resulted in incomplete resection. A total of 11 cycles of postoperative chemotherapy (THP-COP) was performed periodically for the residual tumor in the stomach. Rapid tumor spreading in addition to re-elevation of the serum IgG level, however, developed after the 11th postoperative chemotherapy, which extensively involved the stomach and intestines. The patient died of the disease 33 months after the initiation of treatment.  相似文献

The zone-annealing method was attempted to prepare high-modulus and high-strength poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) film. The film having Young′s modulus of 14.5 × 1010 dyn/cm2 and a tensile strength of 86.9 kg/mm2 in the drawing direction was obtained. These values correspond to four times those of a biaxial-stretched PET film available commercially. The dyanmic viscoelastic properties also were measured. The dynamic storage modulus was 15.4 × 1010 dyn/cm2 at room temperature, and a high value of 3.6 × 1010 dyn/cm2 even at 200°C. The latter value is slightly higher than the room temperature modulus of the commercially available film. From the intensity and temperature position of α-dispersion E″ peak, it was suggested that the amorphous chains in the zone-annealed film was densely packed in a highly oriented state. Furthermore, the crystallinity, orientation, especially double orientation, and molecular chain conformation of the films in the zone-annealing process are discussed in the present paper.  相似文献

Several EEG studies have reported an early component of the visual evoked potential. However, it is controversial whether this component is cortical or subcortical. Our study has aimed to clarify this problem using MEG and EEG in nine normal volunteers. A total of 4000 stimuli were presented to the monocular visual hemifield through a light-proof stimulating goggle and the visual evoked magnetic field and visual evoked potential was measured above the occipital lobe. The early component was observed in three of the nine subjects. The latency ranged from 40 to 45 ms in MEG and from 39 to 47 ms in EEG. The result of dipole localization analysis showed that its origin was cortical, and specifically, the striate cortex.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to examine the effect of the FecBB fecundity gene on plasma concentrations and pituitary content of growth hormone (GH) in sheep. No differences were found between homozygous carriers (BB) and non carriers (++) of the FecBB gene with regard to pituitary GH contents in both ovariectomized and intact ewes. However, ovariectomized ewes had higher levels of pituitary GH than intact ewes (P < 0.01). There were no differences between FecBB genotypes with respect to plasma concentrations of GH in 6-year-old ovariectomized ewes bled every 10 min for 12 h or in ram lambs bled weekly during their first year of life. GH levels in the rams decreased until week 27, increased to a peak at week 31 then decreased before increasing again at week 43. Mean plasma GH concentrations in the ewe lambs bled weekly for a year decreased until week 19 then remained at approximately this level for the remainder of the year. Mean GH plasma concentrations in the ram lambs were higher than in the ewe lambs (P < 0.001). Ewe lambs that were homozygous for the FecBB gene had lower body weights (P < 0.05) and had higher levels of GH (P < 0.01) than non carrier ewe lambs during their first year. Before the average age of first behavioural oestrus (36 weeks) GH levels in the ewe lambs were negatively correlated with body weights (r = -0.69, P < 0.001, n = 22). 1. 11 beta-Hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (11-HSD) activity in mesenteric arteries of spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) and Wistar-Kyoto (WKY) rats was determined and expressed as the percentage conversion of [3H]-corticosterone to [3H]-11-dehydrocorticosterone. 2. 11-HSD activity was significantly decreased in mesenteric arteries of both 4 and 9 week old SHR (8.4 +/- 0.8%, 5.0 +/- 1.5%, respectively) compared with WKY rats (12.4 +/- 0.6%, 15.8 +/- 0.7%, respectively; P < 0.05). 3. Total RNA from rat vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) and endothelial cells (EC) were prepared with selective precipitation in 3 mol/L LiCl/6 mol/L urea. The expression of 11-HSD mRNA was confirmed in the rat VSMC but its mRNA expression was not detected in EC, using northern blot analysis. 4. The results in this study indicate that 11-HSD in the vascular wall may play a role in the pathogenesis of hypertension in SHR.  相似文献
