The second generation of high temperature superconductors typified by Bi2Sr2Ca n−1Cu n O2n+4 and Tl2Ba2Ca n−1Cu n O2n+4 exhibits curious structural properties which have direct relevance to the superconducting behaviour particularly transition temperature (T c ). The present paper reports on investigations of structural properties at microlevel in Bi-bearing HTCS. We have found curious structural characteristics which manifests itself in the form of transformation froma p ×a p ×c to (2)1/2 a p ×(2)1/2 a p ×c through the loss of calcium atoms and the formation of five-fold modulated phase alongb through the loss of Ca and Sr atoms. We have also found the evidence of high periodicities (n=4) Bi2Sr2Ca3Cu4O12. The microstructural characteristics of HTCS showing the higherT c (R=0) ∼ 120 K exhibits unusual characteristics.  相似文献

A fuel for the hybrid rocket system was developed. The attempts made to improve the mechanical properties of wax by adding EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) are illustrated. It was observed that the mechanical properties obtained by adding EVA to wax were dependent on the process of curing the fuel specimen. A proprietary method of curing the fuel specimen was established. The percentage elongation obtained with 20 % EVA and 80 % of wax was around 17 %, which was much higher than the values obtained with pure wax (4 %). It was observed from the study that the higher the percentage of EVA content in wax was, the better the mechanical properties were. Regression rate studies with EVA and wax combination were carried out. It was observed that the regression rate decreased upon addition of EVA in wax. This reduction was compensated by using a bluff body at the head end. The regression rate obtained with 20 % EVA and 80 % wax even with the use of bluff body is lower than that obtained with pure wax, but is around 3.5 times the regression rate obtained with polymeric fuels.  相似文献

A green method for the solvothermal synthesis of copper sulphide nanoparticles (CuS NPs) using xanthan gum as a capping agent was developed. The CuS NPs were characterised by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction, Brunauer–Emment–Teller, zeta analysis, thermal gravimetric– differential thermal analysis, Fourier transform infrared and UV–visible absorption spectra. These characterisations together determine the composition, structural, thermal and optical properties. The UV–visible spectrum had a broad absorption in the visible range. The particle size of the products was observed by TEM in the range of 8–20 nm. The photocatalytic performance of the CuS NPs was evaluated for the degradation of organic dyes (methylene blue, rhodamine B, eosin Y and congo red) under irradiation of solar, visible and UV lights. The CuS NPs showed good photocatalytic activity. Kinetic analyses indicate that the photodegradation rates of dyes usually follow pseudo-first-order kinetics for degradation mechanisms.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose an approach for the analysis and detection of acoustic events in speech signals using the Bessel series expansion. The acoustic events analyzed are the voice onset time (VOT) and the glottal closure instants (GCIs). The hypothesis is that the Bessel functions with their damped sinusoid-like basis functions are better suited for representing the speech signals than the sinusoidal basis functions used in the conventional Fourier representation. The speech signal is band-pass filtered by choosing the appropriate range of Bessel coefficients to obtain a narrow-band signal, which is decomposed further into amplitude modulated (AM) and frequency modulated (FM) components. The discrete energy separation algorithm (DESA) is used to compute the amplitude envelope (AE) of the narrow-band AM-FM signal. Events such as the consonant and vowel beginnings in an unvoiced stop consonant vowel (SCV) and the GCIs are derived by processing the AE of the signal. The proposed approach for the detection of the VOT using the Bessel expansion is shown to perform better than the conventional Fourier representation. The performance of the proposed GCI detection method using the Bessel series expansion is compared against some of the existing methods for various noise environments and signal-to-noise ratios.  相似文献

We investigate the use of mixed self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) for creating nanoscale striped patterns on nanowires and nanorods. Our simulations predict that SAMs comprised of an equal composition of length-mismatched, thermodynamically incompatible surfactants adsorbed on nanowire surfaces self-organize into equilibrium stripes of alternating composition always perpendicular, rather than parallel, to the nanowire axis. We support the simulation results with preliminary experimental investigations of gold nanorods coated with binary mixtures of ligand molecules, which show stripes roughly perpendicular to the rod axis in all cases.  相似文献

The present numerical study deals with mixed convection flows within square enclosures filled with porous media. The influence of various thermal boundary conditions on bottom and side walls based on thermal aspect ratio (A) is investigated for a wide range of parameters (1 ? Re ? 100, 0.015 ? Pr ? 7.2, 10?5 ? Da ? 10?3 and 103 ? Gr ? 105). A penalty finite element method with bi-quadratic elements has been used to investigate the results in terms of streamlines, isotherms and heatlines and average Nusselt numbers. Lid driven effect is dominant at low Darcy number (Da = 10?5), whereas buoyancy driven effect is dominant at high Darcy numbers (Da = 10?4 and Da = 10?3) for Re = 1. Asymmetric pattern is observed in isotherms and heatlines for Re = 100. It is found that thermal gradient is high at the center of the bottom wall for A = 0.1 due to large dense heatlines at that zone and that is low for A = 0.9 irrespective of Re, Pr and Gr. Overall heat transfer rates are higher for A = 0.1 compared to other thermal aspect ratios (A = 0.5, A = 0.9) irrespective of Darcy number, Prandtl number and Reynolds number.  相似文献

Effect of sintering on physico-chemical and catalytic properties of Mo, Co-Mo, Ni-Mosupported on -Al2O3 is reported. Such effects on hydrodesulfurization (HDS), hydrogenation (HYD) and hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) are investigated as a function of sintering temperature. The results indicated that HDS and HYD have different optimum calcination temperatures and these functionalities originate from different sites. The results are discussed in the light of molybdenum sulfide dispersion, promotional effects and phase transformations of active component, promoters and support.  相似文献

Cell division cycle 25A (Cdc25A) is a dual-specificity phosphatase that is overexpressed in several cancer cells and promotes tumorigenesis. In normal cells, Cdc25A expression is regulated tightly, but the changes in expression patterns in cancer cells that lead to tumorigenesis are unknown. In this study, we showed that ubiquitin-specific protease 29 (USP29) stabilized Cdc25A protein expression in cancer cell lines by protecting it from ubiquitin-mediated proteasomal degradation. The presence of USP29 effectively blocked polyubiquitination of Cdc25A and extended its half-life. CRISPR-Cas9-mediated knockdown of USP29 in HeLa cells resulted in cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 phase. We also showed that USP29 knockdown hampered Cdc25A-mediated cell proliferation, migration, and invasion of cancer cells in vitro. Moreover, NSG nude mice transplanted with USP29-depleted cells significantly reduced the size of the tumors, whereas the reconstitution of Cdc25A in USP29-depleted cells significantly increased the tumor size. Altogether, our results implied that USP29 promoted cell cycle progression and oncogenic transformation by regulating protein turnover of Cdc25A.  相似文献

Nanoengineered biodegradable constructs based on synthetic and natural polymers enriched with hydroxyapatite (HA) nanoparticles have been found to mimic the extracellular matrix of bone tissue. The main objective of this study was to create biocomposite nanostructured scaffolds by incorporating collagen and HA nanoparticles into poly(L-lactic acid)-co-poly(?-caprolactone) by electrospinning. The fiber diameter of the composite PLCL/Col and PLCL/Col/HA fibers was smaller compared to PLCL. In vitro biocompatibility of the scaffolds studied using human fetal osteoblasts and EDX analysis showed high deposition of calcium on PLCL/Col/HA. The results shows that PLCL/Col/HA nanofibrous constructs have huge potential as substrates for bone regeneration.  相似文献

Polycrystalline MgCuZn ferrites with chemical formula Mg0.50-xCuxZn0.50Fe2O4 (x = 0.00, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, 0.25 and 0.30) were prepared by microwave sintering method. These powders were calcined, compacted and sintered at 950 °C for 30 min. Structural, microstructural and elemental analyses were carried out using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS), respectively. The lattice parameter is found to increase with increasing copper content. A remarkable densification is observed with the addition of Cu ions in the ferrites. The sintered ferrite was characterized for initial permeability, dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent and ac conductivity measurements. The temperature variation of the initial permeability of these samples was carried out from 30 °C to 200 °C. The dielectric constant, dielectric loss tangent and ac conductivity have been measured in the frequency range of 100 Hz to 1 MHz. Initial permeability and dielectric constant were found to increase and dielectric loss decreased with Cu substitution for Mg, up to x = 0.20. The ferrite powder prepared is suitable for the application in multilayer chip inductor due to its low-temperature sinterability, good magnetic properties and low loss at high frequency.  相似文献
