Abstract— For better front‐of‐screen performance for transflective LCDs, a technology with extra free optimization parameters for the optical stack is needed. Thin wet coatable retarders which enable adjustment of the optical activity on the (sub)pixel level have been developed. Isotropic domains have been created in nematic retardation films by thermal patterning or photopatterning. Employing such a patterned retarder in a transflective LCD leads to an LCD that is lighter and thinner with good reflectivity, high transmission, and low chromaticity at all gray levels and wide viewing angles. The patterned thin‐film technology has been proven to be versatile and applicable in various LCD designs.  相似文献

Shear-induced crystallization of a long chain hyper-branched polypropylene (LCB-PP, denoted PP-3) was carried out at a relatively high temperature of 170 °C, close to its melting temperature of 158 °C. Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) showed that the intensity ratio of the normal to the perpendicular to the shear (V/H) was always larger than 1 for PP-3, indicating that shish-like structures were predominately formed and further growth to kebab was suppressed in PP-3. The crystallization behavior of PP-3 can be explained by the nature of PP-3 that there were a large amount of crystallization nuclei due to their branching points, and the point-like precursors formed from these nuclei were arrayed linearly along the shear direction and transformed into thread-like precursors or premature shishs; however, owing to the large amount of branching, further progress in crystallization was suppressed.  相似文献

In this paper, we present an automatic train control method adaptable to disturbed train traffic conditions. The proposed method presumes transmission of detected time of a home track clearance to trains approaching the station by employing equipment of Digital ATC (Automatic Train Control). Using the information, each train controls its acceleration by a method that consists of two approaches. First, by setting a designated restricted speed, the train controls its running time to arrive at the next station in accordance with predicted delay. Second, the train predicts the time at which it will reach the current braking profile generated by Digital ATC, along with the time when the braking profile transits ahead. By comparing them, the train correctly chooses the coasting drive mode in advance to avoid deceleration due to the current braking profile. We evaluated the effectiveness of the proposed method regarding driving conditions, energy consumption, and reduction of delays by simulation. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The mixture of 5'-guanylylimidodiphosphate (Gpp(NH)p)/EDTA/NaCl has been used to delineate low-affinity conditions for agonists binding to G-protein-linked receptors. The effects of this mixture on [3H]RX821002 (2-methoxyidazoxan) binding to alpha2-adrenoceptors were evaluated in different tissues. The density of alpha2-adrenoceptors in the presence of the mixture was 11, 78 and 60% higher in human cortex (predominant alpha2A), human caudate (alpha2A + alpha2C) and rat kidney (alpha2A + alpha2B), respectively, than in its absence. In rat kidney, masking of alpha2B-adrenoceptors by ARC239 (2-[2-[4-(o-methoxyphenyl)-piperazin-1-yl]-ethyl]-4,4-dimethyl-1,3 -(2H,4H)-isoquinolindione) (50 nM) or masking of alpha2A-adrenoceptors by BRL44408 (2-[2H-(1-methyl-1,3-dihydroisoindole)methyl]-4,5-dihydroimidaz ole) (100 nM) demonstrated that the increase was in the alpha2B-adrenoceptor but not in the alpha2A-adrenoceptor subtype.  相似文献

The authors have proposed a method of reducing the energy consumption in residential buildings by providing household members with information on energy consumptions in their own houses. An on-line interactive “energy-consumption information system” that displays power consumptions of, at most, 18 different appliances, power and city-gas consumption of the whole house and room temperature, for the purpose of motivating energy-saving activities has been constructed and the effectiveness of the system investigated by installing it in 10 residential buildings. The experiment showed that energy-saving consciousness was raised and energy consumption was in fact reduced by the energy-saving activities of the household members. In this paper, the system is described in detail and the effectiveness of reducing energy-consumption of the whole house and for space heating will be discussed. Also the energy-saving activities in a certain household are shown by using load duration curves.  相似文献

The effect of the addition of silica particles on spherulite growth rates of isotactic polypropylene has been investigated using an optical microscope. The spherulite growth rate remained constant with time and the growth rates decreased with increasing the silica content. The addition of silica particles generally causes a reduction of the average distance between adjacent silica particles and the linear growth rates become zero when the inter-particle distance reached to the end-to-end distance of the matrix chains. The reduction in the linear growth rate can be explained by assuming the lamellar clustering process that the precursor or solidified units with the single chain space, which spontaneously are built up from the melt, act as the crystallizing units and the diffusive mobility of the units was restricted by spatial confinement between adjacent silica particles.  相似文献
