Accelerated atherosclerosis is the major cause of mortality in patients on chronic hemodialysis (HD). The aim of this study was to evaluate the relation between coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) levels and coronary flow reserve (CFR) in HD patients as an indicator of atherosclerosis. Seventy‐one chronic HD patients and 65 age‐ and sex‐matched healthy individuals were included in the study. Plasma CoQ10 levels were performed by high‐performance liquid chromatography measurements. CFR was assessed by transthoracic Doppler echocardiography. Serum CoQ10 levels (1.36 ± 0.43 vs. 2.53 ± 0.55, P < 0.001) and CFR values (1.73 ± 0.11 vs. 2.32 ± 0.28, P < 0.001) were significantly lower in HD patients compared with controls. There was a significant positive correlation between CFR and serum levels of CoQ10 (r = 0.669, P < 0.001). A linear regression analysis showed that serum levels of CoQ10 were still significantly and positively correlated with CFR (regression coefficient = 0.235, P < 0.001). Our data have demonstrated that HD patients exhibit decreased plasma CoQ10 levels and CFR values. The study also showed for the first time that serum CoQ10 levels independently predict CFR in HD patients.  相似文献

Tree Based Broadcast in Ad Hoc Networks   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
Although broadcasting using tree structure established in a network is a well known and widely used technique, it is typically claimed to be inappropriate for ad hoc networks, being the maintained tree very sensitive to network changes. On the contrary this paper presents an efficient tree based broadcasting scheme, which is reliable and stable even in case of the ever changing network structure of the ad hoc networks.To achieve this, first, a novel method is presented to maintain a spanning tree in an ad hoc network in a fully distributed, on-line and asynchronous way. Once the tree is established the broadcast itself is performed based on this tree. Some further improvements on the basic algorithm are also presented that reduce the resource requirements even more, increase the stability of the tree, enable the mobility of the nodes to be taken into account and make the method more configurable.As it is shown by simulation, the obtained broadcast scheme is stable, reliable and it uses small amount of resources: the acyclic structure of the broadcast tree ensures that the nodes get the broadcast messages only once, so the broadcast needs little bandwidth and the nodes need not store the recent broadcast messages, reducing the computational and memory requirements.As a byproduct a technique is proposed to measure the mobility of the nodes. This technique needs no additional GPS device or any geographical information but it is based on the stability of the links of the node.Alpár Jüttner received his M. A generalized filtering method based on the minimization of the energy of the Gibbs model is described. The well-known linear and median filters are all special cases of this method. It is shown that, with that selection of appropriate energy functions, the method can be successfully used to adapt the weights of the adaptive weighted median filter to preserve different textures within the image white eliminating the noise. The newly developed adaptive weighted median filter is based on a 3×3 square neighborhood structure. The weights of the pixels are adapted according to the clique energies within this neighborhood structure. The assigned energies to 2- or 3-pixel cliques are based on the local statistics within a larger estimation window. It is shown that the proposed filter performance is better compared to some well-known similar filters like the standard, separable, weighted and some adaptive weighted median filters  相似文献

A homogenization-based topology optimization framework is developed, which can endow hydrodynamically lubricated interfaces with a micro-texture, to achieve optimal macroscopic responses by addressing both dissipative and nondissipative physics at the interface. With respect to the homogenization aspects of the problem, the thermodynamic consistency of the two-scale formulation is explicitly analyzed and verified. With respect to the topology optimization aspects, a variational approach to sensitivity analysis is pursued. Subsequently, these are employed in micro-texture design studies, which address microscopic and macroscopic objectives. The influence of dissipation on the optimization results is demonstrated through extensive numerical investigations, which also highlight the importance of working in a sufficiently flexible design space that can deliver nearly optimal micro-texture geometries.  相似文献

The present study investigates the influences of representative volume element RVE mesh and material parameters, here cell wall elastic moduli, on the effective stiffness properties of three dimensional orthotropic honeycomb cores through strain driven computational homogenization in the finite element framework. For this purpose, case studies were carried out, for which hexagonal cellular RVEs were generated, meshed with eight node linear brick finite elements of varying numbers. Periodic boundary conditions were then implemented on the RVE boundaries by using one-to-one nodal match for the corresponding corners, edges and surfaces for the imposed macroscopic strains. As a novelty, orthotropic material properties were assigned for each cell wall by means of the transformation matrices following the cell wall orientations. Thereafter, simulations were conducted and volume averaged macroscopic stresses were obtained. Eventually, effective stiffness properties were obtained, through which RVE sensitivity analysis was carried out. The investigations indicate that there is a strong relation between number of finite elements and most of the effective stiffness parameters. In addition to this, cell wall elastic moduli also play critical role on the effective properties of the investigated materials.  相似文献

Abstract

Housing prices have increased substantially in some emerging markets in recent years. Turkish housing market has also experienced a boom over the last decade with rapid house price appreciations. This study is the first to employ two different house price indexes to analyze housing bubble in Turkey in two different time periods, 2010:M1–2014:M12 and 2007:M6–2014:M12. We first capture the determinants of housing price by employing Bounds test and then examine whether rising house prices have been justified by fundamentals by employing OLS/FMOLS/DOLS, Kalman filter and ARIMA models. The Bounds test results suggest that there is a long-term cointegration among house price indexes and housing rent, construction cost and real mortgage interest rate. The results imply that the Turkish housing market has experienced some cases of overvaluation, but not bubble formation. This evidence has several implications for house price dynamics and risks in the Turkish housing market. Based on Turkish experience, the study also draws policy implications for emerging housing markets.  相似文献

This paper presents a new method for recognizing 3D objects based on the comparison of invariants of their 2D projection curves. We show that Euclidean equivalent 3D surfaces imply affine equivalent 2D projection curves that are obtained from the projection of cross-section curves of the surfaces onto the coordinate planes. Planes used to extract cross-section curves are chosen to be orthogonal to the principal axes of the defining surfaces. Projection curves are represented using implicit polynomial equations. Affine algebraic and geometric invariants of projection curves are constructed and compared under a variety of distance measures. Results are verified by several experiments with objects from different classes and within the same class.  相似文献

Copper slag wastes, even if treated via processes such as flotation for metal recovery, still contain heavy metals with hazardous properties posing environmental risks for disposal. This study reports the potential use of flotation waste of a copper slag (FWCS) as iron source in the production of Portland cement clinker. The FWCS appears a suitable raw material as iron source containing >59% Fe(2)O(3) mainly in the form of fayalite (Fe(2)SiO(4)) and magnetite (Fe(3)O(4)). The clinker products obtained using the FWCS from the industrial scale trial operations over a 4-month period were characterised for the conformity of its chemical composition and the physico-mechanical performance of the resultant cement products was evaluated. The data collected for the clinker products produced using an iron ore, which is currently used as the cement raw material were also included for comparison. The results have shown that the chemical compositions of all the clinker products including those of FWCS are typical of a Portland cement clinker. The mechanical performance of the standard mortars prepared from the FWCS clinkers were found to be similar to those from the iron ore clinkers with the desired specifications for the industrial cements e.g. CEM I type cements. Furthermore, the leachability tests (TCLP and SPLP) have revealed that the mortar samples obtained from the FWCS clinkers present no environmental problems while the FWCS could act as the potential source of heavy metal contamination. These findings suggest that flotation wastes of copper slag (FWCS) can be readily utilised as cement raw material due to its availability in large quantities at low cost with the further significant benefits for waste management/environmental practices of the FWCS and the reduced production and processing costs for cement raw materials.  相似文献
