In this study, nanostructured WC-Co coatings were produced using experimental nanocrystalline WC-12Co and WC-24Co powders produced by a novel chemical synthesis route. Test coatings were produced using HVAF spraying keeping the temperature as low as possible during the deposition in order to avoid decomposition of the nanocarbides. In experimental powders, two different Co incorporation methods were used: a conventional way in which cobalt was incorporated as a metallic Co powder and a chemical synthesis way in which cobalt acetate was used as a cobalt source. When using cobalt acetate, it decomposes to metallic cobalt during the process. Experimental powders in which cobalt acetate has been used as cobalt source resulted poor deposition efficiency. With warmer parameters, powders resulted better DE, but significant WC decarburization and the dissolution into the matrix phase occurred. Powders in which Co has been introduced as Co powder showed enhanced DE enabling spraying with decreased temperature and higher particle velocity, resulting in coatings with less WC decomposition. Especially, an experimental powder in which Co has been incorporated both as Co powder and as Co-Ac results very fine nanocarbide structure with significantly less WC decomposition having a hardness value of 1201 HV0.3, even with 24% Co.  相似文献

Sulphur, sulphur-water, and water pretreatments were done to find out the effect of these compounds on a diesel oxidation Pd/??-zeolite catalyst and ??-zeolite washcoat. After pretreatments, the samples were analysed by BET, XRF, TEM-SEM, and XPS. In addition, the activity of fresh and pretreated Pd/??-zeolite catalysts was studied utilizing the by Gasmet FT-IR in production gas analysis. Sulphur compounds (SO2 or ?SO4) were found to have a deactivating effect on the activity of the studied Pd/??-zeolite catalyst.  相似文献

The paper deals with the current data on the morphologic and functional damages to the epithelium in asthma. Structure of the normal airway epithelium is briefly described. Damage to the epithelium disrupts the barrier to the external environment, and may result in changes in mucous secretion, and mucociliary clearance; induce bronchoconstriction; promote chemotaxis of inflammatory cells. Epithelial cells can present antigens to T-lymphocytes. Epithelium is both target and effector in asthma. Hypothesis that eosinophils contribute to the damage of the epithelium gained increasing recognition.  相似文献

Two series of novel hydrogels, based on 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA), itaconic acid (IA), and two poly(ethylene glycol) dimethacrylates (PEGDMA), of different ethylene glycol chain lengths, were prepared by free radical crosslinking copolymerization. The influence of different ethylene glycol chain lengths and concentration in P(HEA/IA/PEGDMA) hydrogels on biocompatibility, swelling and thermal properties was investigated. All samples in contact with blood showed a mean hemolysis value <1.0 % in the direct contact assay, and even <0.5 % in the indirect contact assay, for in vitro testing conditions. Swelling studies, conducted in a physiological pH and temperature range, showed pH sensitivity and relatively small changes of equilibrium swelling with temperature, which varied with PEGDMA molecular weight. The glass transition temperatures (T g) of P(HEA/IA/PEGDMA) networks were in the range 28.1–36.9 °C, respectively, and also dependent on copolymer composition. Due to good biocompatibility, favorable swelling, and thermal properties these hydrogels show good potential for biomedical uses.  相似文献

A modified ASTM G 65 rubber wheel test was employed in wet and dry conditions using 220 nm titania particles and 368 μm sand particles, respectively. Both tests were conducted on WC-CoCr coatings produced with two powders with different carbide grain sizes (conventional and sub-micron) to address the effect of carbide size and abrasive medium characteristics on the wear performance. The same spot before and after the wet abrasion wear testing was analyzed in detail using SEM to visualize wear mechanisms. It was shown that the wear mechanism depends on the relative size of the carbide and abrasive particles. Wear mechanisms in dry sand abrasion were studied by analyzing the single scratches formed by individual abrasive particles. Interaction of surface open porosity with moving abrasive particles causes formation of single scratches. By tailoring the carbide size, the wear performance can be improved.  相似文献

This Technical Note demonstrates a simple method based on flexographic printing of polystyrene to form liquid guiding boundaries and layers on paper substrates. The method allows formation of hydrophobic barrier structures that partially or completely penetrate through the substrate. This unique property enables one to form very thin fluidic channels on paper, leading to reduced sample volumes required in point-of-care diagnostic devices. The described method is compatible with roll-to-roll flexography units found in many printing houses, making it an ideal method for large-scale production of paper-based fluidic structures.  相似文献

The dietary exposure of Finnish 3-year-old and 6-year-old children to cadmium, lead, arsenic and mercury was determined using concentration data from Finland and individual food consumption data as well as individual weights of the children. Using middle bound estimates, 88% of the 3-year-olds and 64% of the 6-year-olds exceeded the tolerable weekly intake of cadmium. The benchmark dose for neurological damage caused by lead was exceeded by 14% and 1%, while the lowest benchmark dose of inorganic arsenic was exceeded by 43% and 29% for the 3-year-olds and 6-year-olds, respectively. The exposure of both age groups was below the tolerable weekly intake for inorganic mercury and methyl mercury. Although high, the exposures calculated with predominantly national concentration data were lower than previously estimated by EFSA, due to, for example, lower average concentrations in some much-consumed foods. The heavy metal exposure levels of the girls and the boys were also compared. Exposure to cadmium and lead was significantly higher for the boys than for the girls in both age groups, and exposure to inorganic arsenic was significantly higher for the 6-year-old boys than the girls of same age.  相似文献

Epoxy/clay nanocomposites (NC) have become a very interesting topic among researchers in the past two decades because nanoclays have a positive effect on the mechanical, thermal and especially barrier and anticorrosive performances of the polymers. In this study epoxy NCs and NC-based epoxy coatings were prepared by the solution intercalation method using Cloisite 30B as nanoclay. WAXD and SEM analyses revealed that a mainly exfoliated structure was obtained in epoxy NC with 1 wt% clay content, while higher clay loadings reduced the number of exfoliated clay nanolayers and produced a mainly intercalated structure. EIS, TGA and DMA analyses showed that epoxy NCs with clay content below 5 wt% exhibited increased corrosion stability, thermal stability, glass transition temperature (Tg) and storage modulus (G′), in both glassy and rubbery states due to the nanoscale dispersion of Cloisite 30B and the barrier effect of individual nanolayers. Enhanced mechanical properties were also noticed at higher clay loadings, but the rate of improvement was lower. The highest extent of exfoliation and the most homogeneous macromolecular network was found for NC with 1 wt% of clay, leading to the highest improvement of thermal and anticorrosive properties. The salt spray test results showed that anticorrosive properties of epoxy coatings in the presence of 3 wt% and especially 1 wt% of Cloisite 30B were significantly better, thus indicating that nanoclay efficiently modifies the commercial epoxy coatings.  相似文献

While in use, battery modules and battery packs generate large amounts of heat, which needs to be accounted for. The main challenge in battery thermal management is the correct estimation of heat generation in the battery cell during charging/discharging. In this paper, a method to calculate accurate heat generation in one individual cell is provided. The heat generation is calculated by measuring the overpotential resistances with four different methods and entropic heat generation in the cell. The effect and contribution of entropic heat generation towards the total heat generation in the cell are also calculated and measured. Finally, calorimeter tests are carried out to compare the calculated and measured heat generation. The results indicate that except for direct current resistance measured by impedance spectroscopy, all the overpotential resistances are very close to each other.
