A polymer supported organic-inorganic composite and strongly acidic cation-exchanger polyaniline Ce(IV) molybdate was chemically synthesized and demonstrated to be an excellent ion-exchange material due to its high selectivity for Cd(II), thermal stability and fast elution of an exchangeable H+ ion. The material was characterized for its ion exchange properties to study its cation-exchange behavior. Cd(II) selectivity depends upon the distribution coefficient in several solvent systems. The selectivity of this material varied depending upon its composition and the composition of the eluting solvent. Its selectivity was examined and some important binary separations such as Cd(II)-Pb(II), Cd(II)-Hg(II), Cd(II)-Zn(II) and Cd(II)-Ni(II) were also achieved. The physico-chemical properties of the material were also studied using C, H, N elemental analysis, ICP-MS, FTIR, TGA-DTA, X-ray and SEM studies.  相似文献

An electrically conducting ‘organic–inorganic’ composite material polyaniline Ce(IV) molybdate was prepared by incorporating electrically conducting polymer, i.e., polyaniline into inorganic precipitate of polyvalent metal acid salts i.e., Ce(IV) molybdate. The temperature dependence of electrical conductivity of this composite system with increasing temperatures was measured on compressed pellets by using a 4-in-line-probe dc electrical conductivity-measuring instrument. The values of conductivity lies in the semiconductor region, i.e., they are of the order of 10−5–10−2 S cm−1 and obey the Arrhenius equation. The thermal stability of this composite material in terms of dc electrical conductivity retention was studied under isothermal and cyclic techniques and electrical conductivity of composite was found to be sufficiently stable under ambient temperature conditions. The dependence of the electrical conductivity prepared with different concentrations of aniline monomers, on the concentration of conducting phases i.e., polyaniline was showed that electrical conductivity increase followed the percolation threshold.  相似文献

Multipartite entangled states are the key resource and play a crucial role in latest applications of quantum mechanics. We propose a scheme for the measurement of quantum state of multimode entangled field state trapped in multiple cavities. The scheme is based on the measurement of photon statistics of the displaced entangled field state in Ramsey type set-up. In this set-up, the atoms undergo a dispersive phase shift when they pass through the off-resonant entangled field in cavities. By measuring the internal states of the atoms, the photon statistics and the Wigner function can be reconstructed.  相似文献

Nanotechnology is one of the advance technologies that almost found implications in every field of science. The importance is due to the unique properties of nanoparticles. In this study, bimetallic alloys of copper (Cu) and gold (Au) were tested in submerge root cultures of Stevia rebaudiana for production of biomass and secondary metabolites. A known amount of inoculum roots were submerged in liquid Murashige and Skoog medium containing combination of naphthalene acetic acid (NAA; 0.5 mg l−1) and different ratios of nanoparticles (NPs). NAA augmented medium was used as control. The addition of nanoparticles (30 µg l−1) stimulated biomass accumulation (1.447 g/flask) on 27th day of log phases. The maximum total phenolics content (TPC; 16.17 mg/g‐DW) and total flavonoids content (TFC; 4.20 mg/g‐DW) were displayed using AuCu‐NPs (1:3) and NAA. The same combinations enhanced total phenolic production (TPP; 116 mg/L) and total flavonoid production (TFP; 29.5 mg/L) in submerged cultures. A strong correlation was observed between phenolics, flavonoids and dry biomass. Moreover, maximum 1, 1‐diphenyl‐2‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) activity of 79% was displayed by addition of AuCu (1:3) nanoparticles. Superior controllability of reactive distillation (RD) systems, designed at the maximum driving force (design-control solution) is demonstrated in this article. Binary or multielement single or double feed RD systems are considered. Reactive phase equilibrium data, needed for driving force analysis and design of the RD system, is generated through an in-house property prediction tool. Rigorous steady-state simulation is carried out in ASPEN plus in order to verify that the predefined design targets and dynamics are met. A multiobjective performance function is employed to evaluate the performance of the RD system in terms of energy consumption, sustainability metrics (total CO2 footprint), and control performance. Controllability of the designed system is evaluated using indices like the relative gain array (RGA) and Niederlinski index (NI ), to evaluate the degree of loop interaction, as well as through dynamic simulations using proportional-integral (PI) controllers and model predictive controllers (MPC). The design-control of the RD systems corresponding to other alternative designs that do not take advantage of the maximum driving force is also investigated. The analysis shows that the RD designs at the maximum driving force exhibit enhanced controllability and lower carbon footprint than the alternative RD designs.  相似文献

Dynamic instability of decentralized wind energy farms is a major issue to deliver continuous green energy to electricity consumers. This instability is caused by variations of voltage and frequency parameters due to intermittencies in wind power. Previously, droop control and inverter-based schemes have been proposed to regulate the voltage by balancing reactive power, while inertial control, digital mapping technique of proportional-integral-differential (PID) controller and efficiency control strategy have been developed to regulate the frequency. In this paper, voltage stability is improved by a new joint strategy of distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM) six-pulse controller based reactive power management among decentralized wind turbines and controlled charging of capacitor bank. The frequency stability is ensured by a joint coordinated utilization of capacitor bank and distributed wind power turbines dispatching through a new DSTATCOM six-pulse controller scheme. In both strategies, power grid is contributed as a backup source with less priority. These new joint strategies for voltage and frequency stabilities will enhance the stable active power delivery to end users. A system test case is developed to verify the proposed joint strategies. The test results of the proposed new schemes are proved to be effective in terms of stability improvement of voltage, frequency and active power generation.  相似文献

Extraction of frequent patterns in transaction-oriented database is crucial to several data mining tasks such as association rule generation, time series analysis, classification, etc. Most of these mining tasks require multiple passes over the database and if the database size is large, which is usually the case, scalable high performance solutions involving multiple processors are required. This paper presents an efficient scalable parallel algorithm for mining frequent patterns on parallel shared nothing platforms. The proposed algorithm is based on one of the best known sequential techniques referred to as Frequent Pattern (FP) Growth algorithm. Unlike most of the earlier parallel approaches based on different variants of the Apriori Algorithm, the algorithm presented in this paper does not explicitly result in having entire counting data structure duplicated on each processor. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm introduces minimum communication (and hence synchronization) overheads by efficiently partitioning the list of frequent elements list over processors. The experimental results show scalable performance over different machine and problem sizes. The comparison of implementation results with existing parallel approaches show significant gains in the speedup. On an 8-processor machine, we report an average speedup of 6 for different problem sizes.  相似文献

DNA fragmentation, detected by microgel electrophoresis of single cells, is applied as a marker for irradiation treatment of seeds. Seeds may be treated with ionising radiation for the purpose of insect disinfestation or microbial control. Various seeds treated with radiation doses in the range of 0-5 kGy were analysed. After electrophoresis, irradiated cells--with a large number of DNA strandbreaks--showed tailing and appeared as distinct comets, whereas non-irradiated cells appeared nearly circular or with only slight comet tails. Shape, length and intensity of comets were dose-dependent. Although DNA comet assay has now been adopted as an official European Standard (EN 13784) to detect irradiated foodstuffs, the method discloses several limitations. Identification was successful for buckwheat, linseed, melon, nigella, poppy, sesame and sunflower seeds, but caused problems for fennel, fenugreek, millet and mustard seeds. In some foods, many comets were also detected in the non-irradiated samples, mimicking an irradiation treatment. The use of the DNA comet assay as a screening method for irradiated food, therefore, has its restraints, but for a number of foods it serves as a rapid and inexpensive test.  相似文献

Motion trajectories provide rich spatiotemporal information about an object's activity. This paper presents novel classification algorithms for recognizing object activity using object motion trajectory. In the proposed classification system, trajectories are segmented at points of change in curvature, and the subtrajectories are represented by their principal component analysis (PCA) coefficients. We first present a framework to robustly estimate the multivariate probability density function based on PCA coefficients of the subtrajectories using Gaussian mixture models (GMMs). We show that GMM-based modeling alone cannot capture the temporal relations and ordering between underlying entities. To address this issue, we use hidden Markov models (HMMs) with a data-driven design in terms of number of states and topology (e.g., left-right versus ergodic). Experiments using a database of over 5700 complex trajectories (obtained from UCI-KDD data archives and Columbia University Multimedia Group) subdivided into 85 different classes demonstrate the superiority of our proposed HMM-based scheme using PCA coefficients of subtrajectories in comparison with other techniques in the literature.  相似文献

Present study evaluated the catalytic steam gasification of furniture waste to enhance the biohydrogen production. To do this, 10 wt% nickel loaded catalysts on the variety of supports (Al2O3, CeO2, CeO2-La2O3, and CeO2–ZrO2) were prepared by the novel solvent deficient method. The hydrogen selectivity (vol%) order of the catalysts was achieved as Ni/CeO2–ZrO2>Ni/CeO2>Ni/Al2O3?Ni/CeO2-La2O3. The best catalytic activity of Ni/CeO2–ZrO2 catalyst (~82 vol % H2 at 800 °C) was ascribed to the smaller size of nickel crystals, finely dispersed Ni on the catalyst surface, and Ce1-xZrxO2-δ solid solution. The role of Ce1-xZrxO2-δ solid solution in Ni/CeO2–ZrO2 catalyst was observed as bi-functional; acceleration of water-gas-shift and oxidation of carbon reaction. The high resistance of Ni/CeO2–ZrO2 towards the coke formation showed its potential to establish a cost-effective commercial-scale biomass steam gasification process. This study is expected to provide a promising solution for the disposal of furniture wastes for production of clean energy (biohydrogen).  相似文献
