The quasiparticle and AC Josephson current in superconductor / insulator / superconductor (S/I/S) junctions including a triplet p-wave superconductor are calculated for arbitrary transmission of the junction. As a triplet pairing state we select one of the unitary pairing states which is a promising candidate for the superconducting state in Sr 2 RuO 4 . In p-wave superconductor / insulator /p-wave superconductor junction, both quasiparticle current and AC Josephson current are enhanced near zero-bias voltage due to the existence of zero energy state of p-wave superconductors. For the s-wave superconductor/ insulator / p-wave superconductor junction, the quasiparticle current at low voltage is suppressed due to the energy gap of s-wave superconductor. The first Fourier component of the AC Josephson current vanishes due to the difference of the parity between the two superconductors.  相似文献

A novel terphenyl liquid crystalline (LC) epoxy resin was synthesized and characterized by 1H‐NMR, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and polarizing optical microscopy. Depending on the curing temperature, the synthesized resin formed both smectic and nematic LC phases. A time‐temperature‐transformation diagram was constructed to optimize the curing process, which helped in the preparation of LC and isotropic system. The terphenyl epoxy resin obtained exhibited higher acid resistance than a comparable Schiff‐base epoxy resin, and also displayed excellent fracture toughness. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. In order to investigate the effect of transition metal addition to platinum with different support materials on preferential CO oxidation, structure and chemical properties of supported bimetallic catalysts prepared by electron beam irradiation method were correlated to the catalytic performance. On Al2O3, decoration of Pt by small amount of Co (Co/Pt ∼ 0.03) drastically increased CO and O2 conversions while addition of equimolar Cu to Pt increased them only above 100 °C, where the rate-controlling factor was suggested to change from oxygen transport to CO activation. On CeO2, either addition of Co or Cu to Pt had minor or negative effect on high O2 conversion inherent to high oxygen transport at Pt–CeO2 interface. On Pt–Cu/CeO2, however, metal-CuOx interface dominates the reaction characteristics to give improved selectivity, which is suitable for deep CO removal in excess O2/CO condition. The order of selectivity above 100 °C, Pt–CoOx > Pt(alloy)–CuOx > Pt–CeO2 interfaces, was derived from structural analysis and catalytic tests.  相似文献

We developed a video recording system with the capability of tracking moving objects and used it to track the flight of an insect. The system consists of two galvano mirrors, which redirect the light coming from the object in two orthogonal directions toward a high-speed camera to capture the image. An additional high-speed camera, which views the same object through a beam splitter placed between one of the galvano mirrors and the observation camera, detects the position of the object. The mirror angle is controlled to maintain the position of the object at the center of the view, allowing the object to be tracked. In order to validate this system, images of a live fly in flight were recorded along a flight path that was much longer than the field of view of the stationary camera. A high-resolution video image of a rapidly moving live fly was successfully captured.  相似文献

Human urinary trypsin inhibitor (UTI), a serine protease inhibitor, has been widely used in Japan as a drug for patients with acute inflammatory disorders such as septic shock and pancreatitis. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) triggers the sepsis syndrome by activating monocytes to produce proinflammatory cytokines, including tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFalpha), which potently stimulate the activation of neutrophils. The inhibitory mechanism of UTI on the systemic inflammatory response induced by the intraperitoneal injection of LPS in the kidney is unclear. This study was undertaken to examine the inhibitory effects of UTI on renal injury associated with the systemic inflammatory response induced by LPS stimulation, with emphasis on systemic TNFalpha and the activation of neutrophils in rat kidney. The systemic inflammatory response syndrome was induced by LPS treatment. Serum and renal TNFalpha, renal cytokine-induced neutrophil chemoattractant-1 (CINC-1) and myeloperoxidase (MPO) levels, as well as renal function after LPS stimulation, were evaluated. UTI (50,000 U/kg) inhibited LPS-induced increases in the serum and renal tissue levels of TNFalpha, as well as the renal tissue levels of CINC-1 and MPO after LPS stimulation. UTI (50,000 U/kg) also inhibited the production of serum TNFalpha associated with the systemic inflammatory response syndrome induced by LPS stimulation, thereby attenuating neutrophil infiltration into renal tissues and subsequent neutrophil-mediated renal injury. These findings may have important implications in understanding the biologic functions of UTI. UTI may prove useful in protecting against acute renal injury associated with a systemic inflammatory response.  相似文献
