Ti and Ti alloys are widely used as metallic implants, because of their good mechanical properties and nontoxic behavior. However, they have problems as the implant-materials, namely, high Young's modulus comparing that of bone and low bonding ability with bone. There is a need to develop the Ti and Ti alloys with lower Young's modulus and good bonding ability. In previous study, Ti composite containing biodegradable poly-l-lactic-acid (PLLA) fiber has been fabricated to improve these problems. However, this composite has low strength because of the imperfect sintering of Ti matrix. To improve its strength, sintering of Ti matrix should be completed. In this study, Ti–NaCl composite material was fabricated by spark plasma sintering (SPS) method using powder mixture of Ti and NaCl to complete the sintering of Ti matrix. To obtain porous Ti samples, Ti–NaCl composite were put into hot water of 317 K. The porous Ti was dipped into PLLA melt in order to introduce PLLA into the pores of porous Ti. Finally, Ti/PLLA composite was obtained, and PLLA plays a role as reinforcement of Ti matrix. It was found that the Ti/PLLA composite has gradient structure and mechanical properties.  相似文献

Papilio maackii females prefer a rutaceous plant, Phellodendron amurense, for oviposition, whereas another semi-sympatric Rutaceae feeder, Papilio protenor, never exploits this plant as a host in nature. However, the larvae of both species perform well on this plant in the laboratory. Phellamurin, a flavonoid present in the organic fraction from P. amurense inhibits egg laying by P. protenor. We examined whether phellamurin is involved in the differential acceptance of P. amurense by the two butterflies. The ovipositing females of P. maackii readily accepted P. amurense and a methanolic extract of the foliage, while P. protenor rejected them entirely. However, the aqueous fraction derived from the extract elicited significant oviposition responses of similar levels from the two species. Phellamurin did not induce oviposition behavior in P. protenor females. In contrast, P. maackii was stimulated to oviposit by phellamurin at concentrations exceeding 0.2%. The response was dose-dependent and reached ca. 70% at 2% phellamurin, which is approximately equivalent to its natural abundance in young leaves of P. amurense. Since the aqueous fraction was very stimulatory to both species, the combined effect of phellamurin and the aqueous fraction on oviposition was tested. The addition of phellamurin to the aqueous fraction enhanced the ovipositional activity of P. maackii, but dramatically suppressed the oviposition response of P. protenor even at 0.1% concentration. These results, taken together with those obtained from electrophysiological recordings with foretarsal chemosensilla, indicate that phellamurin acts as an oviposition stimulant for P. maackii, and as a potent deterrent for P. protenor. The results suggest that host range expansion or host shifts may be made by ovipositing females that overcome phytochemical barriers.  相似文献

R2O3 (R = Y, Eu, Er) metal oxides were synthesized from metal–ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) complexes using a flame spray technique. As this technique enables high deposition rates, films with thickness of several tens of micrometers were obtained. Films of yttria, europia, and erbia phase were synthesized on stainless-steel substrates with reaction assistance by H2–O2 combustion gas. The oxide films consisted of the desired crystalline phase with micropores. The porosity of the films was in the range of 6–15%, varying with the metal used. These results suggest that the true density of the metal oxide obtained from metal–EDTA powder through the thermal reaction process plays an important role in achieving film with the desired porosity.  相似文献

This paper develops a complete communication support system for speech and hearing disorders using lip reading. The proposed system is a high‐level system and consists of a face detector using the Viola–Jones method, lip extraction based on the active appearance model, dynamic programming matching, automatic utterance section extraction, camera control, and message output. We implemented the system in a commercial laptop, and carried out the recognition experiments on 50 Japanese phrases with four subjects for more than 1 month and obtained high recognition accuracy. Furthermore, we demonstrated it in various situations such as the sitting position, supine position, and holding position. Extinction limits of counterflow non-premixed flames with normal and high temperature oxidizers were studied experimentally and numerically for development of new-type oxygen-enriched mild combustion furnace. Extinction stretch rates of CH4/CO2 (at 300 K) versus O2/CO2 flames at oxygen mole fractions of 0.35 and 0.40 and oxidizer temperatures of 300 K, 500 K, 700 K and 1000 K were obtained. Investigation was also conducted for CH4/N2 (at 300 K) versus air (O2/N2) flames at the same oxidizer temperatures. An effect of radiative heat loss on stretch extinction limits of oxygen-enriched flames and air flames was investigated by computations with optical thin model (OTM) and adiabatic flame model (ADI). The results show influence of radiative heat loss on stretch extinction limits was not significant in relative high fuel mole fraction regions. The extinction curve of the oxygen-enriched flames with oxygen mole fraction of 0.35 was close to that of the air flames at the oxidizer temperature of 300 K. However, the extinction curve of air flames with high temperature oxidizer was comparable with that of oxygen-enriched flames with oxygen mole fraction of 0.40. Scaling analysis based on asymptotic solution of stretch extinction was applied and it was found that stretch extinction limits can be expressed by two terms. The first term is total enthalpy flux of fuel stream based on thermo-physical parameters. The second term is a kinetic term which reflects an effect of the chemical reaction rate on stretch extinction limits. OH radicals which play important roles in chain propagating and main endothermic reactions were used to represent the kinetic term of both oxygen-enriched and air flames. The global rates of OH formation in these two cases were compared to understand the contribution of kinetic term to stretch extinction limits. Variation of extinction curves of oxygen-enriched flames and air flames was well explained by the present scaling analysis. This offers an effective approach to estimate stretch extinction limits of oxygen-enriched flames based on those of air flames at the same oxidizer temperature.  相似文献

FEMAXI-FBR has been developed as the one module of the core disruptive accident analysis code ‘ASTERIA-FBR’ in order to evaluate the mixed oxide (MOX) fuel performance under steady, transient and accident conditions of fast reactors consistently. On the basis of light water reactor (LWR) fuel performance evaluation code ‘FEMAXI-6’, FEMAXI-FBR develops specific models for the fast reactor fuel performance, such as restructuring, material migration during steady state and transient, melting cavity formation and pressure during accident, so that it can evaluate the fuel failure during accident. The analysis of test pin with slow transient over power test of CABRI-2 program was conducted from steady to transient. The test pin was pre-irradiated and tested under transient overpower with several % P 0/s (P 0: steady state power) of the power rate. Analysis results of the gas release ratio, pin failure time, and fuel melt radius were compared to measured values. The analysis results of the steady and transient performances were also compared with the measured values. The compared performances are gas release ratio, fuel restructuring for steady state and linear power and melt radius at failure during transient. This analysis result reproduces the measured value. It was concluded that FEMAXI-FBR is effective to evaluate fast reactor fuel performances from steady state to accident conditions.  相似文献

The troubles of major components and structural materials in nuclear power plants have often been caused by flow-induced vibration, corrosion, and their overlapping effects. In order to establish safe and reliable plant operation, it is required to forecast future troubles based on combined analyses of flow dynamics and corrosion and prevent them at very early stages. Corrosion analysis models have been combined with three-dimensional flow dynamics and heat transfer analysis models to evaluate corrosion damage (e.g., stress corrosion cracking [SCC] and flow-accelerated corrosion [FAC]) of major components and structural materials.

The models are divided into the following two parts. First is a prediction model of future trouble on materials. The distribution of oxidant concentrations along the flow path are obtained by solving water radiolysis reactions in the boiling water reactor primary cooling water and hydrazine and oxygen reactions in pressurized water reactor secondary cooling water. Then, the distribution of electrochemical corrosion potential (ECP) along the flow path is obtained by oxidant concentration based on a mixed potential model. Higher ECP enhances the possibility of SCC, while lower ECP accelerates FAC. Second is an evaluation model of wall thinning caused by FAC. At the location with a higher possibility for FAC occurrence, a trend of wall thinning is evaluated, and the lifetime is estimated for preventive maintenance.  相似文献

Quasi-monochromatic X-ray emission induced by MeV-proton bombardment onto metallic targets was applied to radiography of small samples. The X-ray energy was adjusted in the range of ≈4–23 keV by changing the target material. The radiograms were recorded on an imaging plate. A small phantom made of Lucite was prepared for the test of photography using a contrast medium (RuCl3$H2O; ruthenium chloride). To clearly observe the image of the contrast agent, the photon energy was chosen to be 23.17 keV (Cd Kα) which is slightly above the K-absorption edge of Ru at 22.12 keV. Only the image of the contrast agent was successfully extracted by subtracting the image taken by 21.18-keV X-rays (Pd Kα) from that obtained by the 23.17-keV photons. Also images of a small fish sample were taken using a point-like X-ray source excited by a proton microbeam with a diameter of ≈10 mm. In this experiment, the X-ray energy was adjusted to 4.51 keV (Ti Kα) to obtain a strong attenuation by Ca in the bones. A fine structure of the bones in the thin caudal fin (<100 mm) was highly contrasted by this method. The spatial resolution of the picture was ≈20 mm. Performance of the above technique based on the proton-induced quasi-monochromatic X-ray emission is discussed in comparison to conventional methods.  相似文献

The structures and characteristics of pressure–heat-induced gels of chicken myofibrils and pork patty were investigated. The M-line and Z-line in the chicken myofibril in 0.2 M NaCl were disrupted, and both of the thin and thick filaments were dissociated by pressure treatment. The microstructure of pressure–heat-induced chicken myofibrillar gel was composed of three-dimensional fine strands. Pressurization, at 200 MPa, prior to heating, increased the apparent elasticities of chicken myofibrillar gel and pork patty; however, pressure treatment above 200 MPa decreased it. The apparent elasticity of the pressure-treated (200 MPa) thermal myofibrillar gel was three times higher, and that of pork patty was twice higher than those of the unpressurized ones. The rheological properties of the low salt (1% NaCl) pork sausage can be improved by pressure treatment at 200 MPa prior to heating.  相似文献
