Wide parabolic wells can be created by properly controlling the Al content during the growth of successive Ga1–xAlxAs thin layers. Under a tilted magnetic field these systems present interesting transport properties, which are associated to their composition dependent g-factor. We present an exact solution for the eigenstates of an electron gas inside such a quantum well. We calculate the renormalized cyclotron frequencies as functions of the angle of tilt, as well as the density of states, and the Fermi level. We discuss the conditions for the existence of spin-polarized charge.  相似文献

A digital sampling algorithm that uses two high-resolution integrating voltmeters in a master-slave configuration for accurately measuring the harmonic magnitudes and phase angles of two low-noise, low-frequency, arbitrary voltage signals is presented. It is shown that it is possible to measure up to 64 harmonic magnitudes of 60-Hz signals with an uncertainty of less than 13 /spl mu/V/V relative to the fundamental using commercial stable signal generators and high-resolution digital voltmeters. It is also possible to measure the phase shift between the fundamental components of two equally-synthesized 60-Hz signals with about 3.8% total harmonic distortion with an uncertainty of less than 2.5 /spl mu/rad. Even lower uncertainties can be obtained for low-distortion signals. The algorithm was applied to the measurement of the harmonics of periodic arbitrary signals generated by a commercial source. The differences between computed and measured values of harmonic magnitude suggest that stable digitally-synthesized signal generators can be used as calculable standards of harmonic distortion with an accuracy of less than 6 parts in 10/sup 5/ relative to the fundamental.  相似文献

Dense wavelength division multiplexing optical networks use tunable devices such as distributed Bragg reflector laser diodes. These optical sources require a precise wavelength calibration according to the ITU grid, even with aged components. Some specific optical spectrum analyzers are commercially available. Unfortunately, measurements using those systems are generally relatively slow. We present and discuss in this paper a fast spectral measurement system that can easily be implemented in a laser diode package.  相似文献

Laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) is now commonly used in clinical research to monitor microvascular blood flow. However, the dependence of the LDF signal on the microvascular architecture is still unknown. That is why we propose a new laser Doppler flowmeter for depth dependent monitoring of skin microvascular perfusion. This new laser Doppler flowmeter combines for the first time, in a device, several wavelengths and different spaced detection optical fibres. The calibration of the new apparatus is herein presented together with in vivo validation. Two in vivo validation tests are performed. In the first test, signals collected in the ventral side of the forearm are analyzed; in the second test, signals collected in the ventral side of the forearm are compared with signals collected in the hand palm. There are good indicators that show that different wavelengths and fibre distances probe different skin perfusion layers. However, multiple scattering may affect the results, namely the ones obtained with the larger fibre distance. To clearly understand the wavelength effect in LDF measurements, other tests have to be performed.  相似文献

A momentary increase in cytoplasmic Ca2+ generates an oscillation responsible for the activation of proteins, such as calmodulin and kinases, which interact with reactive oxygen species (ROS) for the transmission of a stress signal. This study investigated the influence of variations in calcium concentrations on plant defense signaling and photosynthetic acclimatization after mechanical damage. Solanum lycopersicum Micro-Tom was grown with 0, 2 and 4 mM Ca2+, with and without mechanical damage. The expression of stress genes was evaluated, along with levels of antioxidant enzymes, hydrogen peroxide, lipid peroxidation, histochemistry, photosynthesis and dry mass of organs. The ROS production generated by mechanical damage was further enhanced by calcium-free conditions due to the inactivation of the oxygen evolution complex, contributing to an increase in reactive species. The results indicated that ROS affected mechanical damage signaling because calcium-free plants exhibited high levels of H2O2 and enhanced expression of kinase and RBOH1 genes, necessary conditions for an efficient response to stress. We conclude that the plants without calcium supply recognized mechanical damage but did not survive. The highest expression of the RBOH1 gene and the accumulation of H2O2 in these plants signaled cell death. Plants grown in the presence of calcium showed higher expression of SlCaM2 and control of H2O2 concentration, thus overcoming the stress caused by mechanical damage, with photosynthetic acclimatization and without damage to dry mass production.  相似文献

We examined the effects of an acute increase in blood pressure (BP) and renal sympathetic nerve activity (rSNA) induced by bicuculline (Bic) injection in the paraventricular nucleus of hypothalamus (PVN) or the effects of a selective increase in rSNA induced by renal nerve stimulation (RNS) on the renal excretion of sodium and water and its effect on sodium-hydrogen exchanger 3 (NHE3) activity. Uninephrectomized anesthetized male Wistar rats were divided into three groups: (1) Sham; (2) Bic PVN: (3) RNS + Bic injection into the PVN. BP and rSNA were recorded, and urine was collected prior and after the interventions in all groups. RNS decreased sodium (58%) and water excretion (53%) independently of BP changes (p < 0.05). However, after Bic injection in the PVN during RNS stimulation, the BP and rSNA increased by 30% and 60% (p < 0.05), respectively, diuresis (5-fold) and natriuresis (2.3-fold) were increased (p < 0.05), and NHE3 activity was significantly reduced, independently of glomerular filtration rate changes. Thus, an acute increase in the BP overcomes RNS, leading to diuresis, natriuresis, and NHE3 activity inhibition.  相似文献

Betanin is a natural pigment with antioxidant properties used as a food colourant. This work describes the spectrophotometric and chromatographic quantification of betanin (2S/15S) and its epimer isobetanin (2S/15R) in fresh beetroot juice, food-grade beetroot powder and betanin standard diluted in dextrin. Absorption spectra of all three samples were deconvoluted using a mixed three-function model. Food-grade beetroot powder has the largest amount of violet-red impurities, probably formed during processing. The purification of betanin from these complex matrices was carried out by seven different methods. Ion exchange chromatography was the most efficient method for the purification of betanin from all samples; however, fractions contain high amounts of salt. Reversed-phase HPLC as well as reversed-phase column chromatography also produced good results at a much faster rate. The longer retention time of isobetanin when compared to betanin in reversed-phase conditions has been investigated by means of quantum-mechanical methods.  相似文献

The ‐centroid problem or leader–follower problem is generalized considering different customer choice rules where a customer may use facilities belonging to different firms, if the difference in travel distance (or time) is small enough. Assuming essential goods, some particular customer choice rules are analyzed. Linear programming formulations for the generalized ‐medianoid and ‐centroid problems are presented and an exact solution approach is applied. Some computational examples are included.  相似文献
