This study aimed to monitor the effect of temperature and the addition of nanosilica on the nanostructure of the C–S–H gel forming during tricalcium silicate (C3S) hydration. Two types of paste were prepared from a synthesized T1 C3S. The first consisted of a blend of deionized water and C3S at a water/solid ratio of 0.425. In the second, a 90 wt% C3S + 10 wt% of nanosilica blend was mixed with water at a water/solid ratio of 0.7. The pastes were stored in closed containers at 100% RH and 25°C, 40°C, or 65°C. The hydration reaction was detained after 1, 14, 28, or 62 d with acetone, and then pastes were studied by 29Si magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (29Si MAS NMR).The main conclusion was that adding nSA expedites C3S hydration at any age or temperature and modifies the structure of the C–S–H gel formed, two types of C–S–H gel appear. At 25°C and 40°C, more orderly, longer chain gels are initially (1 d) obtained as a result of the pozzolanic reaction between nSA and portlandite (CH) (C–S–HII gel formation). Subsequently, ongoing C3S hydration and the concomitant flow of dimers shorten the mean chain length in the gel.  相似文献

We introduce a new class of substrates (compounds I – III ) for leukocyte esterase (LE) that react with LE yielding anodic current in direct proportion to LE activity. The kinetic constants Km and kcat for the enzymatic reactions were determined by amperometry at a glassy carbon electrode. The binding affinity of I – III for LE was two orders of magnitude better than that of existing optical LE substrates. The specificity constant kcat/Km was equal to 2.7, 3.8, and 5.8×105 m ?1 s?1 for compounds containing the pyridine ( I ), methoxypyridine ( II ), and (methoxycarbonyl)pyridine ( III ), respectively, thus showing an increase in catalytic efficiency in this order. Compound III had the lowest octanol/water partition coefficient (log p=0.33) along with the highest topological surface area (tPSA=222 Å2) and the best aqueous solubility (4.0 mg mL?1). The average enzymatic activity of LE released from a single leukocyte was equal to 4.5 nU when measured with compound III .  相似文献

The morphology of solution grown single crystals of a series of double crystalline diblock copolymers derived from l-lactide and ?-caprolactone has been investigated by means of transmission electron microscopy. The copolymers had a variable composition with a poly(l-lactide) weight percentage that ranged between 81 and 10%. All samples had a low polydispersity index (1.4-1.1) and a similar number average molecular weight (20,000-35,000 g/mol).Bulk crystallization and melting behaviour of diblock copolymers were evaluated by DSC and the results demonstrated the double crystalline nature of the samples. Fractionated crystallization clearly occurred in copolymers having an intermediate composition.Isothermal crystallizations were performed in dilute n-hexanol solutions at temperatures that ranged between 80 and 50 °C. Crystal morphologies were dependent on the crystallization temperature and even on the composition. Thus, the inability of poly(?-caprolactone) (PCL) blocks to crystallize between 80 and 70 °C rendered lozenge, truncated and spindle-shaped crystals associated to the poly(l-lactide) (PLLA) block. These usually had thicker edges due to PLLA overgrowths that mainly took place in their periphery. However, an overgrowth of irregular PCL crystals during subsequent cooling and crystallization at room temperature was also detected. Complex morphologies constituted by lamellar crystals of both PCL and PLLA blocks were developed at intermediate temperatures (70-65 °C), whereas elongated hexagonal morphologies mainly associated to the PCL block were detected at the lowest crystallization temperature. In general, electron diffraction patterns showed for all samples’ reflections associated to both poly(?-caprolactone) and poly(l-lactide) (α-form) crystals. The relative intensity between the two types of reflections varied according to the copolymer composition.  相似文献

This work describes the preparation of thermosensitive chitosan-graft-poly(N-vinylcaprolactam) nanoparticles by ionic gelation and their potential use as a controlled drug delivery system, using doxorubicin as a model drug. A systematic study of the effect of the main processing parameters on both the size and thermoresponsive behavior of nanoparticles was investigated. The size of the particles is strongly dependent on the length of the poly(N-vinylcaprolactam) grafted chains and the concentration of the copolymer and crosslinking agent solutions. The molecular structure of the copolymer plays an essential role in the phase transition temperature of the particles, which decreases with the length of PVCL grafted chain. The system displayed proper drug-association parameters, and the drug-loaded nanoparticles exhibited dose-dependent cytotoxicity. A significant increase in the doxorubicin delivery rate was observed above the phase transition temperature (40 °C). These features indicate that these nanoparticles are suitable for the development of a new thermally controlled anti-cancer drug delivery system. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. With the aim of evaluating the importance of the copigmentation process between anthocyanins and flavanols on the colour expression of red wine, assays were carried out in wine model systems with mixtures of compounds obtained from two Vitis vinifera grape varieties (Graciano and Tempranillo). Spectrophotometric and chromatic analyses were performed to evaluate the magnitude of the copigmentation and the modifications induced in the colour of the solutions. Measurement of the changes in the anthocyanin hydration constant (Kh) was also used to determine the strength of the copigmentation process. All the flavanols assayed induced significant changes in the colour, perceptible to the human eye, of the wine-like anthocyanin solutions at concentrations similar to those that can exist in red wines. The percentage contribution of the copigmentation with flavanols to the colour of the anthocyanin solutions was found to range from 2% to 20%. The extent of this effect was related not only to the concentration of flavanols but also to the qualitative composition of the flavanol preparations, as influenced by the part of the grape (either skin or seed) and the variety considered. Divergences were found between the evaluation of the copigmentation based on chromatic parameters in the CIELAB colour space and that based on the measurement at visible λmax, as the latter does not consider the integral colour changes produced in the visible spectrum. The results obtained confirmed the importance of the qualitative phenolic composition, determined in the wine by the type of grape and winemaking practices, to the production of an effective copigmentation process.  相似文献

The effects of finishing time, (T0 = 0, T1 = 30 and T2 = 60 days), on Holstein–Friesian cull cows (n = 18) and post-mortem ageing, (1, 7, 14, 21, 35 and 42 days), under vacuum conditions of Longissimus thoracis (LT) muscles were investigated. The objective of this research was to study how finishing feeding (based on a commercial concentrate and corn silage), following a pasture period of 90 days, affected carcass and meat quality. Ageing time effect was also evaluated on the main quality attribute of added value pieces, such as “striploin of ox” from cull cows. Finishing treatment affected intramuscular fat content (IMF), moisture percentage, water-holding capacity (WHC), colour parameters and shear force of meat at 24 h post-mortem, whereas ageing time enhanced meat tenderness, when this was measured by two textural tests, Warner–Braztler (WB) and textural profile analysis (TPA). A minimum shear force was achieved at 7 and 14 days of ageing for T1 and T2, respectively. No differences (P > 0.05) could be found in colour parameters from 7 to 42 days. The results show that a finishing time of two months is very beneficial, due to the increase in meat fatness, improved overall carcass quality and luminosity (L*). Furthermore, 14 ageing days were sufficient to improved tenderness. Ageing time did not have an effect on lipid oxidation (P > 0.05) and this leads us to conclude that meat shelf life exceeded 42 days under vacuum conditions’.  相似文献

Dried sewage sludge was physically mixed with waste paper (paper-to-sludge ratios from 25% to 75%). To increase the catalytic activity, from 1% to 6% calcium hydroxide was added to the mixtures. Then the precursors were carbonized at 950 degrees C. The performance of materials as H2S adsorbents was tested using a home-developed dynamic breakthrough test. The samples, before and after the adsorption process, were characterized by adsorption of nitrogen, potentiometric titration, thermal analysis, XRF, and SEM. Differences in the performance were linked to the surface properties. Itwas found that mixing paper with sludge increases the amount of H2S adsorbed/oxidized in comparison with that adsorbed/oxidized by the adsorbents obtained from pure precursors (sludge or waste paper) and the capacity is comparable to those of the best activated carbons existing on the market. Although both sewage sludge and waste paper provide the catalytic centers for hydrogen sulfide oxidation, the dispersion of the catalyst and its location within accessible pores is an important factor. The presence of cellulose in the precursor mixture leads to the formation of a light macroporous char whose particles physically separate the inorganic catalytic phase of the sewage sludge origin, decreasing the density of the adsorbent and thus providing more space for storage of oxidation products. This, along with calcium, contributes to a significant increase in the capacity of the materials as hydrogen sulfide adsorbents. On their surface about 30 wt % H2S can be adsorbed, mainly as elemental sulfur or sulfates. The results demonstrate the importance of the composition and arrangement of inorganic/ organic phases for the removal of hydrogen sulfide. The interesting finding is that although some microporosity is necessary to increase the storage area for oxidation products, the carbonaceous phase does not need to be highly microporous. It is important that it provides space for deposition of sulfur, which is formed on the inorganic-phase catalyst. That space can be in meso- and macropores as shown in the case of char derived from the waste paper.  相似文献

A rapid and highly specific real-time quantitative PCR, based on the amplification of a fragment of the mitochondrial 12S ribosomal RNA gene (rRNA), has been developed for the quantitation of pork (Sus scrofa) in binary pork/beef muscle mixtures. The method combines the use of pork-specific primers, that amplify a 411bp fragment from pork DNA, and mammalian-specific primers amplifying a 425-428bp fragment from mammalian species DNA, which are used as endogenous control. An internal fluorogenic probe (TaqMan), that hybridizes in the "pork-specific" and also in the "mammalian" DNA fragments is used to monitor the amplification of the target gene. A comparison of the cycle number (C(t)) at which mammalian and pork-specific PCR products are first detected, in combination with the use of reference standards of known pork content, allows the determination of the percentage of pork in a mixed sample. Analysis of experimental pork/beef muscle binary mixtures demonstrated the specificity and sensitivity of the assay for detection and quantitation of pork in the range 0.5-5%.  相似文献
