Parametric interpolation has been widely used in CNC machining because of its advantages over the traditional linear or circular interpolation. Many researchers focused on this field and have made great progress in the specific one, NURBS curve interpolation. These works greatly improved the CNC machining with constant feedrate, confined chord error and limited acceleration/deceleration. However, during CNC machining process, mechanical shocks to machine tool caused by the undesired acceleration/deceleration profile will dramatically deteriorate the surface accuracy and quality of the machined parts. This is, in most occasions, very harmful to machine tools. In this paper, an accurate adaptive NURBS curve interpolator is proposed with consideration of acceleration–deceleration control. The proposed design effectively reduces the machining shocks by constraining the machine tool jerk dynamically. Meanwhile, the constant feedrate is maintained during most time of machining process, and thus high accuracy is achieved while the feedrate profile is greatly smoothed. In order to deal with the sudden change of the acceleration/deceleration around the corner with large curvature, a real-time flexible acceleration/deceleration control scheme is introduced to adjust the feedrate correspondingly. We propose a computationally efficient method for cross-validation of the Support Vector Regression (SVR) by generalizing the decremental algorithm of SVR. Incremental and decremental algorithm of Support Vector Machines (SVM) 2, 8, 9) efficiently update the trained SVM model when a single data point is added to or removed from the training set. The computational cost of leave-one-out cross-validation can be reduced using the decremental algorithm. However, when we perform leave-m-out cross-validation (m > 1), we have to repeatedly apply the decremental algorithm for each data point. In this paper, we extend the decremental algorithm of SVR8, 9) in such a way that several data points can be removed more efficiently. Experimental results indicate that the proposed approach can reduce the computational cost. In particular, we observed that the number of breakpoints, which is the main computational cost of the involved path-following, were reduced from \({\mathcal O}(m)\) to \({\mathcal O}(\sqrt{m})\). 相似文献

The Congo Basin is the world's third largest in size (~ 3.7 million km2), and second only to the Amazon River in discharge (~ 40,200 m3 s− 1 annual average). However, the hydrological dynamics of seasonally flooded wetlands and floodplains remains poorly quantified. Here, we separate the Congo wetland into four 3° × 3° regions, and use remote sensing measurements (i.e., GRACE, satellite radar altimeter, GPCP, JERS-1, SRTM, and MODIS) to estimate the amounts of water filling and draining from the Congo wetland, and to determine the source of the water. We find that the amount of water annually filling and draining the Congo wetlands is 111 km3, which is about one-third the size of the water volumes found on the mainstem Amazon floodplain. Based on amplitude comparisons among the water volume changes and timing comparisons among their fluxes, we conclude that the local upland runoff is the main source of the Congo wetland water, not the fluvial process of river-floodplain water exchange as in the Amazon. Our hydraulic analysis using altimeter measurements also supports our conclusion by demonstrating that water surface elevations in the wetlands are consistently higher than the adjacent river water levels. The present paper investigates problems of truss topology optimization under local buckling constraints. A new approach for
the solution of singular problems caused by stress and local buckling constraints is proposed. At first, a second order smooth-extended
technique is used to make the disjoint feasible domains connect, then the so-called ε-relaxed method is applied to eliminate
the singular optima from problem formulation. By means of this approach, the singular optimum of the original problem caused
by stress and local buckling constraints can be searched approximately by employing the algorithms developed for sizing optimization
problems with high accuracy. Therefore, the numerical problem resulting from stress and local buckling constraints can be
solved in an elegant way. The applications of the proposed approach and its effectiveness are illustrated with several numerical
examples.

Insects perform adaptive behavior according to changing environmental conditions using comparatively small brains. Because adaptability is generated through the relationship among brain, body and environment, it is necessary to examine how a brain works under these conditions. In this study, to understand neural processing involved in adaptive behavior, we constructed a brain–machine hybrid system using motor signals related to the steering behavior of the male silkworm moth for controlling a two-wheeled mobile robot. We developed this hybrid system according to the following steps. (1) We selected steering signals corresponding to walking direction that were activated during neck swinging induced by optic flow and pheromone stimuli. (2) To control a robot by neural activity, we implemented a spike-behavior conversion rule such that frequency of the left and right neck motor neurons’ spikes was linearly converted into rotation of the wheels. (3) For electrophysiological multi-unit recordings on a robot, we developed small amplifiers. Using this hybrid system, we could observe the programmed behavioral pattern and orientation toward a pheromone source. Moreover, we compared the orientation behavior of moths and that of the hybrid system at different pheromone stimulus frequencies. From these experiments, we concluded that we could reconstruct silkworm moth behavior on the hybrid system. 相似文献

A multi-bunch photo-cathode RF gun system has been developed as an electron source for the production of intense quasi-monochromatic X-rays based on inverse Compton scattering. The desired multi-bunch beam is 100 bunches/pulse with a total charge of 500 nC and a bunch spacing of 2.8 ns. We modified the gun cavity of a ‘BNL-type IV’ RF gun to allow a CsTe cathode plug in the end plate. The system uses a four-dipole chicane beam line to allow the injection of laser light normal to the cathode surface. We compensate the gun cavity beam loading caused by the high-intensity multi-bunch electron beam by injecting the laser pulse before RF power has filled the cavity. We have achieved a total intensity of 220 nC in 100 bunches with a bunch-to-bunch energy spread under 1.3% (peak-to-peak). This paper concentrates on experiments to generate the high-intensity multi-bunch beam with compensation of the bunch-to-bunch energy spread due to heavy beam loading. 相似文献

Abstract— The plasma‐tube array is expected to realize a wall‐sized display. This method will realize an emissive‐type display with a flexible screen shape and an expandable screen size. The shape of the plasma tube was investigated to realize high luminance, high luminance efficacy, and high flexural strength. As the result, a cylindroid tube is proposed to satisfy these demands. An experimental display of 1 m × 128 mm has been developed with these cylindroid tubes and it demonstrated a high luminous efficacy of 3.1 lm/W. 相似文献

A new fibre-optic microscope with high depth resolution is proposed and experimentally realized. In this microscope, a pair of monomode optical fibre couplers are used to form a six-port all-fibre Michelson interferometer. A lock-in amplifier is used to improve the depth sensitivity and to simplify the optical and electronic circuits. The phase sensing signal is applied to a mirror at one arm of the interferometer. The optimum resolution was about 0?4 nm. The transverse resolution of this microscope is determined by the core diameter of the monomode fibre (9 μm). This 3-D microscope is quite stable to ambient mechanical disturbances, and can be applied to the 3-D microscopy of various biological objects. 相似文献
