Homopolymer and copolymers containing metronidazole (MTZ) drug were synthesized. Acryloyl chloride was reacted with MTZ (drug) to produce monomer containing MTZ, and then the monomer was copolymerized with various amounts of methyl methacrylate. The produced monomer, homopolymer, and copolymers were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, and 1H‐NMR. The antimicrobial activities of the synthesized polymers were tested against Kelpsilic as fungal organisms, and Escherichia coli, Bacillus subitilus, and Pesudomonus areuginosa as bacteria organisms. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The present study is focusing on evaluating theoretically and experimentally stability and type of interactions between the epoxy resin bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (DGEBA)-polyaminoamide anticorrosive coating and high strength low alloy steel surface 15CDV6. The coated steel samples were subjected to a harsh environment of an electrolyte solution of 3 wt % NaCl to simulate the corrosive marine environment. The performance of the epoxy coating was investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The EIS results revealed the occurrence of some deterioration in the film after subjecting it to a harsh environment for 4392 h, because the impedance of the coating dropped by about 1.4 kΩ.cm2. Surface morphological study of metallic specimens before and after exposing to the simulated marine environment (3 wt % NaCl) was carried out using scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and optical microscope (OM) methods. The interactions between DGEBA-polyaminoamide and the metallic surface were further carried out using computation modeling such as density functional theory (DFT)-based quantum chemical calculations, Monte Carlo (MC), and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. Results showed that DGEBA-polyaminoamide possesses a strong tendency to adhere and inhibits the corrosive dissolution of 15CDV6 steel surface in the stimulated marine environment. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This article presents a Monte Carlo simulation model based on Clayton copula to generate synthetic sequences of rainfall storms whose likelihood of occurrence is in consonance with historical records. These sequences are used as rainfall input data for the Storm Water Management Model to analyse a 3 km2 watershed in the city of Granada, Spain. The objective of our study is to estimate the optimal volume of a detention basin that would solve the problem created by a downstream combined sewer system (CSS), part of which is undersized and which cannot be enlarged without considerable cost. In this model, the synthetic rainfall sequences provide multiple inputs to the CSS model, which produce a range of model outputs. Risk-based analysis of these outputs helps to quantify the variability of the CSS response. As a result, our model enables decisions based on the comparison of expected outcomes and the costs of different choices. The rainfall storms are represented as a sequence of rectangular pulses, whose occurrences are driven by a Poisson process with a given arrival rate. Both storm durations and average storm intensities are fitted as Pareto distributions and the dependence between these variables is described using Clayton copula.  相似文献

In this work, we have measured the solubility and the freezing point depression of Na-1-ethanethiolate, Na-1-propanethiolate, Na-2-propanethiolate, Na-1-butanethiolate, and Na-2-methyl-2-propanethiolate salts in pure water within the concentration range of 0–49 wt/wt% at 1?atm. The freezing point curves and solubility curves of five mercaptide salts have been measured at various concentrations of mercaptide salts and further used to find eutectic points.  相似文献

Fish scales are collagen based structures that display interesting mechanical properties, particularly in the wet state. In this paper we study the effect of water content on the thermal transitions of scales from the Amazonian fish Arapaima Gigas by means of Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) tests. The endothermic peaks found are discussed and the results are compared with previous studies of other collagen based structures. The peaks observed were found to depend on the water content of the samples. The role of water on the thermal stability of fish scales is discussed. The peak temperature related to the denaturation of collagen was found to increase with increasing water content. Hence, samples with higher water content were more thermally stable than samples with lower water content. This tendency is contradictory with regard to that observed on other collagen based structures such as bones and tendons.  相似文献

We describe the synthesis of an optimal control law and its implementation using object-oriented programming in the Java language. Our aim is to optimize the performance of a batch dryer system, which presents several problems such as time delay in the input and overshoot. The experimental results indicate that the control law effectively reduces the energy applied to the actuators in order to reach and maintain the desired temperature of the process. As for the implementation in the Java language, it allows to use the control law regardless of the operating system while providing robustness and stability.  相似文献
