In this study, the potential of wood-only (metal-free) load-bearing walls was proposed and tested based on the idea of using the same type of material throughout wherever possible while improving basic properties such as strength, sound insulation, and heat insulation. Specifically, a technique was tested of combining pressure sensitive adhesive tape and wood dowels in place of nails for load-bearing structures with panel reinforcement represented by wood-frame construction. For this paper, its strength was evaluated by conducting in-plane shear tests, which revealed that the initial rigidity and maximum load of the proposed test specimens were greater than that of specimens using nails for jointing. However, the shear load factor, which is calculated based on some strength parameters and which forms the foundation of housing strength design, was slightly lower than that of the nail-jointed specimen. This was because there was a large decline in post-collapse resistance and a lower calculated absorbed energy caused by brittleness. The early detachment of panels was also revealed as a problem in the tests.  相似文献

This paper proposes a level‐set based topology optimization method incorporating a boundary tracking mesh generating method and nonlinear programming. Because the boundary tracking mesh is always conformed to the structural boundary, good approximation to the boundary is maintained during optimization; therefore, structural design problems are solved completely without grayscale material. Previously, we introduced the boundary tracking mesh generating method into level‐set based topology optimization and updated the design variables by solving the level‐set equation. In order to adapt our previous method to general structural optimization frameworks, the incorporation of the method with nonlinear programming is investigated in this paper. To successfully incorporate nonlinear programming, the optimization problem is regularized using a double‐well potential. Furthermore, the sensitivities with respect to the design variables are strictly derived to maintain consistency in mathematical programming. We expect the investigation to open up a new class of grayscale‐free topology optimization. The usefulness of the proposed method is demonstrated using several numerical examples targeting two‐dimensional compliant mechanism and metallic waveguide design problems. Latent heat storage (LHS) using phase change materials is quite attractive for utilization of the exergy of solar energy and industrial exhaust heat because of its high‐heat storage capacity, heat storage and supply at constant temperature, and repeatable utilization without degradation. In this article, general LHS technology is outlined, and then recent advances in the uses of LHS for high‐temperature applications (over 100 °C) are discussed, with respect to each type of phase change material (e.g., sugar alcohol, molten salt, and alloy). The prospects of future LHS systems are discussed from a principle of exergy recuperation. In addition, the technologies to minimize exergy loss in the future LHS system are discussed on the basis of the thermodynamic analysis by ‘thermodynamic compass’. Immunoglobulin A1 (IgA1) concentration in the plasma of patients with IgA nephropathy (IgAN) as the cause of renal failure is higher than that in the plasma of normal controls. IgA1 with abnormal sugars is considered to deposit in the glomerular mesangium, aggravating nephritis in IgAN. Jacalin is a lectin that recognizes sugars on IgA1. However, its selective-recognition for normal-type (ST type, NeuAc-α(2,3)-Gal-β(1,3)-GalNAc) and abnormal-type (T type, Gal-β(1,3)-GalNAc; Tn type, GalNAc; STn type, NeuAc-α(2,6)-GalNAc) sugars α-O-linked to serine/threonine in IgA1 is weak. Therefore, jacalin cannot be used for recognizing specific sugar types on IgA1. We attempted to develop a new recognition method for specific sugar types on IgA1 by utilizing the multirecognition capability of jacalin. Its binding abilities were regulated by heat denaturation with suitable template sugar (galactose or N-acetylgalactosamine). Further, we successfully prepared denatured-jacalin derivatives, which recognized ST-/T-type sugars on IgA1, by sugar-immobilized affinity chromatography. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay of denatured-jacalin derivatives, showed the ratios of abnormal sugars on IgA1 in the plasma of IgAN patients and normal controls to be approximately 60% and 20%, respectively. The results proved that profiling of sugar types in IgAN can successfully be performed by solely using jacalin derivatives.  相似文献

The effects of Pt and Pd addition to a Zr-20Nb alloy on its microstructure and mechanical property, as well as the elution of metals from the alloys in lactic acid solution, were investigated. The microstructure was characterized with an X-ray diffractometer (XRD), an optical microscope (OM), and a transmission electron microscope (TEM). The mechanical properties were evaluated by a tensile test. The β phase is dominantly observed in the Zr-20Nb as well as in the Pt-added and Pd-added Zr-20Nb alloys. Needle-like microstructures are observed in equiaxed grains in all alloys. Pd addition to the Zr-20Nb alloy suppresses ω phase formation more than Pt addition does. The 0.2% offset yield strength and the ultimate tensile strength of the Pt-added and Pd-added Zr-20Nb alloys increase with the Pt and Pd concentrations. XRD analysis revealed that the lattice parameter of β-Zr in the Pt-added and Pd-added Zr-20Nb alloys decreases with the Pt and Pd concentrations. Pt and Pd solute in β-Zr as a substitutional element and contribute to the increase in the strength by solid solution hardening. The addition of 2Pt and 2Pd to the Zr-20Nb alloy also improves metal elution from the alloys in lactic acid solution.  相似文献

Superfluid 4He was produced on a small jet plane for the first time using a small GM-refrigerator to condense the liquid and a scroll pump to get the superfluid by evaporation. The surface wave on superfluid under 0.5g E, 0.1g E and 0.05g E, together with 2g E and 1g E, was successfully examined by an optical method utilizing parabolic flight. Here, g E is the gravitational constant on the ground. Assuming that only the fundamental mode was excited as determined by the sample cell width, the resonance peak in the frequency domain was well reproduced by the gravity wave with corresponding gravity constant.  相似文献

We report on the experimental demonstration of a novel n-channel GaN epilayer RESURF GaN MOSFET with good tradeoff between breakdown voltage and specific on-resistance for the first time. Device with 4-mum channel length and 16-mum RESURF length has breakdown voltage up to 730 V with specific on-resistance 34 mOmegamiddotcm2 (VG - VT = 20 V), best reported to date.  相似文献

In insects, β-N-acetylglucosaminidase (GlcNAcase) participates in critical physiological processes such as fertilization, metamorphosis, and glycoconjugate degradation. Insects produce glycoproteins carrying paucimannosidic-type N-glycans, the terminal GlcNAc residue of which is cleaved by a GlcNAc-linkage specific GlcNAcase, also known as the fused lobes (FDL) protein. To obtain information on the structure of GlcNAcases and insight into their contribution to physiological processes, we cloned Bombyx mori FDL (BmFDL) from silkworm larvae. The full-length cDNA (1.9 kb) encoded a protein of 633 amino acids with 42% amino acid sequence identity to Drosophila melanogaster FDL (DmFDL). Recombinant BmFDL cleaved only β-1,2-linked GlcNAc residues from the α-1,3 branch of biantennary N-glycan. This substrate specificity was similar to that of DmFDL. Microsomal FDL activity was inhibited by anti-BmFDL antibodies. Taken together, our results suggest that BmFDL is a N-glycan-processing GlcNAcase in B. mori.  相似文献

The isotope effects of gadolinium in Gd-EDTA ligand exchange system were studied by means of ion exchange chromatography. The separation coefficients of gadolinium isotopes, epsilon, and the local enrichment factors, beta, were calculated from the observed isotopic ratios at the front and rear boundaries of the gadolinium adsorption band. Clear mass independent anomalies were observed in the isotope effects of 155Gd and 157Gd. The relation between the isotope effects of gadolinium isotopes, studied by the three-isotope plot and the separation coefficient methods, and the mass of gadolinium isotopes was found to be related to the change in the mean square radius of the nuclear charge distribution parameter, (r2), of these isotopes, which suggests that the nucleus shape and size highly affect the gadolinium isotope effects in chemical exchange reactions.  相似文献

We report a 68-year-old man who had immediate-type heat urticaria with systemic symptoms. Immersing his hand in water at 42 degrees C (heat challenge test) produced an urticarial response, with an increase in the plasma histamine level from 0.26 to 7.64 ng/mL. Administration of oral antihistamines alone did not suppress either the urticarial response or the increase in plasma histamine. However, a combination of antihistamines and desensitization improved the skin lesions and reduced the plasma histamine level. The heat challenge test subsequently provoked a negative response and there was no increase in plasma histamine level 3 months after starting the combination therapy. These results indicate that the histamine level reflected the result of the heat challenge test and the amelioration of the skin eruption.  相似文献
