Oriented poly-p-phenylene sulphide (PPS) films (thickness 12 and 75 m) and PPS powder were carbonized/graphitized after stabilizing by oxidation, in order to examine the effect of sulphur on graphitizability of the resulting carbons. The films and the powder resulted in carbons with a high and a low graphitizability respectively. An in-plane oriented structure of the PPS film was the most predominant factor to lead to a high graphitizability, and sulphur in the precursor did not lower the graphitizability when it was subjected to solid-phase carbonization. We will discuss the roles of various material parameters that control this instability. An unusual lattice softening has been found by ultrasonic measurement on La2–x

x
CuO4 (LSCO). This softening is present only in an in-plane shearing mode and is ascribed to the growth of structural fluctuations in the normal state.These phenomena are closely related because both the structural change in LBCO and the applied strain in LSCO lift the degeneracy of in-plane oxygen sites. Solution-processed copper(I) thiocyanate (CuSCN) typically exhibits low crystallinity with short-range order; the defects result in a high density of trap states that limit the device's performance. Despite the extensive electronic applications of CuSCN, its defect properties are not understood in detail. Through X-ray absorption spectroscopy, pristine CuSCN prepared from the standard diethyl sulfide-based recipe is found to contain under-coordinated Cu atoms, pointing to the presence of SCN− vacancies. A defect passivation strategy is introduced by adding solid I2 to the processing solution. At small concentrations, the iodine is found to exist as I− which can substitute for the missing SCN− ligand, effectively healing the defective sites and restoring the coordination around Cu. Computational study results also verify this point. Applying I2-doped CuSCN as a p-channel in thin-film transistors shows that the hole mobility increases by more than five times at the optimal doping concentration of 0.5 mol.%. Importantly, the on/off current ratio and the subthreshold characteristics also improve as the I2 doping method leads to the defect-healing effect while avoiding the creation of detrimental impurity states. An analysis of the capacitance-voltage characteristics corroborates that the trap state density is reduced upon I2 addition. 相似文献

The properties of a quasi-one-dimensional (Q1D) electron system on liquid helium are considered and the experiments on the carrier transport are presented. It has been shown that the electron mobility changes from high values close to that for bulk helium to very small values as a function of the Q1D channel width. Such a behaviour of is connected to a gradual transition from the regime of the quasi-free movement of the carriers in a Q1D system to the conditions of strong localization of the electrons. In the last case depends on temperature exponentially with the activation energy of a few degrees.
It is predicted that in Q1D channels in regime of the localization two optical plasmon branches can exist. One of them (a high frequency branch) is connected with the oscillations of electrons in potential wells and another one has lower frequency and is due to the oscillations of dimples, which are created by localized electrons on the liquid helium surface, in the potential wells.
Possible new experiments on study of magnetotransport, plasma oscillations and phase diagram of ordered-disordered states in a Q1D electron system of a finite length over liquid helium are proposed and discussed. 相似文献

Thick silica films were prepared by the electrophoretic sol–gel deposition technique in the presence of poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) using monodispersed silica particles; the particles were prepared by the sol–gel method, pre-heat treated and then re-dispersed in the mixture of H2O and ethanol. The weight of deposited silica films was maximized when 0.2 mass % of PAA against the whole amount of sol was added. The particles constructing the thick silica films were packed densely when the amount of added PAA was less than 0.2 mass%. The weight of the film increased with decrease in the content of H2O in the sol when a fixed amount of PAA was added. We have investigated the normal-state conduction of superconducting Sr2RuO4 (Tc 1K), which is isostructural to La2–xSrxCuO4. The resistivity of single crystals shows a crossover at TM130K from 3D metallic conduction at lower temperatures to 2D one at higher temperatures. Concerning the temperature dependence of the out-of-plane resistivity, we present a systematic interpretation based on competition between the life time of the quasiparticles and the time for the quasiparticles to travel between the adjacent RuO2 planes. 相似文献

An implicit tenet of modern search heuristics is that there is a mutually exclusive balance between two desirable goals: search
diversity (or distribution), i.e., search through a maximum number of distinct areas, and, search intensity, i.e., a maximum
search exploitation within each specific area. We claim that the hypothesis that these goals are mutually exclusive is false
in parallel systems. We argue that it is possible to devise methods that exhibit high search intensity and high search diversity
during the whole algorithmic execution. It is considered how distance metrics, i.e., functions for measuring diversity (given
by the minimum number of local search steps between two solutions) and coordination policies, i.e., mechanisms for directing
and redirecting search processes based on the information acquired by the distance metrics, can be used together to integrate
a framework for the development of advanced collective search methods that present such desiderata of search intensity and
search diversity under simultaneous coexistence. The presented model also avoids the undesirable occurrence of a problem we
refer to as the ‘ergometric bike phenomenon’. Finally, this work is one of the very few analysis accomplished on a level of
meta-meta-heuristics, because all arguments are independent of specific problems handled (such as scheduling, planning, etc.),
of specific solution methods (such as genetic algorithms, simulated annealing, tabu search, etc.) and of specific neighborhood
