A multiplanar positron camera is proposed, made of six MWPC modules, arranged to form the lateral surface of a hexagonal prism. Each 50 x 50 cm(2) module has a single MWPC sandwiched by two 2-cm thick lead glass tube converters. The experimental results for a 15 x 15 cm(2) test module are reported. For 511 keV gamma-rays incident almost perpendicular onto a 1.0-cm thick converter, a detection efficiency of 4.3%, a time resolution of 130 ns (FWHM) and a spatial resolution of 2.8 mm (FWHM) have been measured with a standard Argon-Methane (70-30) mixture at 1.2 atm. The chamber may also be operated in high resolution mode: 1.2-mm (FWHM) spatial resolution has been measured at a 50% lower efficiency. The use of fast delay lines (specific delay 8 ns/cm) for the position read-out ensures a high rate capability. The expected performance of the six-module MWPC camera is discussed and compared with that of a BGO crystal ring camera. The MWPC solution seems very attractive not only for its low cost and simplicity of construction, but also for its fully three-dimensional imaging capability.  相似文献

The main objectives of this study were to construct a plasma generator device and to investigate its applications in welding, cutting, and surface hardening. The device was derived from the union of two plasma-generating technologies, non-transferred-arc plasma and magnetoplasmadynamic thruster (MPDT), and characterised by the simultaneous formation of two plasma arcs in one device, generating a plasma jet with high energy density. Initially, trials were conducted to analyse the influence of the physical variables (gas flow rate and electric current intensities – primary and secondary) on the plasma jet, for which the thruster and the length of the plasma jet expulsed from the chamber were determined. The relevant parameters for welding, cutting and surface hardening were determined by trial and error, in which the trials were conducted using various plate thicknesses and materials. The results have shown that this device can be used for welding, cutting and surface hardening.  相似文献

The magnetic characteristics of iron phthalocyanine thin films are studied with a vibrating sample magnetometer, identifying a ferromagnetic transition temperature at 4.5?K. The metal ions at the center of the molecule are self-assembled along chains producing quasi one-dimensional magnetic chains of variable length in the thin films. The average chain length is varied from 20 to 300?nm via substrate temperature during deposition. Below the critical transition temperature, the magnetization curves have the shape of wasp-waisted or constricted loops. The in-plane chain length modulates the coercivity and saturation field and larger grains increase the coercivity significantly. First-order reversal curves of the wasp-waisted hysteresis loops reveal a long narrow strip that suggests a broad distribution of coercive fields and weak intergrain magnetic interactions. These findings are also supported through simulations based on the Preisach model.  相似文献

Model-driven engineering proposes the use of models to describe the relevant aspects of the system to be built and synthesize the final application from them. Models are normally described using Domain-Specific Modeling Languages (DSMLs), which provide primitives and constructs of the domain. Still, the increasing complexity of systems has raised the need for abstraction techniques able to produce simpler versions of the models while retaining some properties of interest. Cheeses are able to serve as suitable matrices for supplying probiotics to consumers, enabling appropriate conditions for bacteria to survive gastric transit and reach the gut, where they are assumed to promote beneficial processes. The present study aimed to evaluate the microbiological, immunological, and histological changes in the gut of Salmonella Enteritidis-challenged rats fed goat cheese supplemented with the probiotic strain Lactobacillus rhamnosus EM1107. Thirty male albino Wistar rats were randomly distributed into 5 experimental groups with 6 animals each: negative (NC) and positive (PtC) control groups, control goat cheese (CCh), goat cheese added with L. rhamnosus EM1107 (LrCh), and L. rhamnosus EM1107 only (EM1107). All animals, except NC group were challenged with Salmonella Enteritidis (109 cfu in 1 mL of saline through oral gavage). Microbial composition was assessed with high-throughput 16S rRNA sequencing by means of Illumina MiSeq (Illumina, San Diego, CA). Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) from the animal cecum tissue was determined by real-time PCR and interleukins (TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-10, and IFN-γ) by means of ELISA. Myeloperoxidase and malondialdehyde levels were determined biochemically. The administration of the L. rhamnosus EM1107 probiotic strain, either as a pure culture or added to a cheese matrix, was able to reduce Salmonella colonization in the intestinal lumen and lessen tissue damage compared with rats from PtC group. In addition, the use of cheese for the probiotic strain delivery (LrCh) was associated with a marked shift in the gut microbiota composition toward the increase of beneficial organisms such as Blautia and Lactobacillus and a reduction in NF-κB expression. These findings support our hypothesis that cheeses might be explored as functional matrices for the efficacious delivery of probiotic strains to consumers.  相似文献

This paper presents a discrete-time control design methodology for input-saturating systems using a Lyapunov function with dependence on present and past states. The approach is used to bypass the usual difficulty with full polynomial Lyapunov functions of expressing the problem in a convex way. Also polynomial controllers are allowed to depend on both present and past states. Furthermore, by considering saturation limits on the control action, the information about the relationship between the present and past states is introduced via Positivstellensatz multipliers. Sum-of-squares techniques and available semi-definite programming (SDP) software are used in order to find the controller.  相似文献

The Wigner representation of parametric down conversion in the Heisenberg picture is applied to the study of the Rome teleportation experiment. We investigate the physical meaning of the zeropoint inputs at the different areas of the experimental set-up. In particular, we establish a quantitative relationship between the zeropoint sets of modes that are needed for the preparation of the quantum state to be teleported, the idle channels inside the one-photon polarization-momentum Bell-state analyser, and the possibility of performing teleportation of a polarization state with certainty.  相似文献

Ionic liquid‐based three‐phase partitioning (ILTPP) is a promising technique to recover high‐added value proteins at the liquid–liquid interface. Its economic and environmental performance highly depends on the net ionic liquid consumption. Alternatives to maximize the fraction of ionic liquid that can be recycled are studied. It is demonstrated that the addition of extra salt, previously proposed in literature, has a very limited effect on ionic liquid recovery for relatively high protein concentrations in the feed stream, and that it may even lead to an increase of the ionic liquid losses under certain conditions. However, small additions of salt are shown to be effective and profitable from an economic point of view. Vacuum evaporation is shown to allow for the complete ionic liquid and salt recovery, reinforcing the sustainability and viability of ILTPP processes. © 2014 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 60: 3577–3586, 2014  相似文献

The chemical interaction of 2,3-butanedione with amino acids through Strecker reaction has been studied extensively. However, the formation of previously reported 4,5-dimethyl-1,2-benzoquinone from 2,3-butanedione/amino acid model systems has not been investigated in detail. In this study such model systems containing 2,3-butanedione were investigated under pyrolytic conditions using glycine, sodium glycinate and glycine hydrochloride as amino acids able to modulate acid/base catalytic activity of the reaction medium. The analysis of the data indicated that replacing glycine with its corresponding salts promoted significantly the generation of 2,3,6,7-tetramethylquinoxaline relative to tetramethylpyrazine, the indicator compound for the Strecker reaction. The origin of the 2,3,6,7-tetramethylquinoxaline was traced back to the formation of 4,5-dimethyl-1,2-benzoquinone through isotope labelling studies. Furthermore, these studies have also indicated the ability of glycine not only to catalyse the cyclocondensation of butanedione into 4,5-dimethyl-1,2-benzoquinone but also its conversion into 4,5-dimethyl-1,2-phenylenediamine through Strecker-type transformations. The trapping of 2,3-butanedione by this in situ generated 4,5-dimethyl-1,2-phenylenediamine gave rise to the observed 2,3,6,7-tetramethylquinoxaline.  相似文献
