This article discusses the composite cascode stage, both single-ended and differential, operating in the weak inversion or moderate inversion region. The gain of the MOS composite cascode differential stage can exceed 100,000?V/V, a figure that has never been reported in the literature. For low-frequency applications, this configuration can be used to fabricate op amps that have high-gain, low-power and low-nonlinear distortion. Two different architectures, both having two gain stages are reported. The first op amp uses the Widlar architecture to achieve a gain of 117?dB, a power dissipation of 110?µW and uses a compensation capacitor of only 3.5?pF. The second op amp uses a class AB stage for the second and final stage and utilises the parasitic capacitance at the output of the first stage for compensation. This self-compensating op amp has a gain of 110?dB and a power dissipation of 21?µW.  相似文献

Ytterbium trialuminide (YbAl3) has one of the largest thermoelectric power factors of known materials below room temperature, making it a material of interest for low-temperature thermoelectric devices. However, the high thermal conductivity, which is due to a combination of a large electronic thermal conductivity and a moderately large lattice thermal conductivity, is detrimental to the figure of merit. Substitution of different atoms on the Yb site was performed in order to assess their ability to favorably alter the electronic structure and/or reduce the lattice thermal conductivity. We have synthesized and studied the thermoelectric properties of the solid solutions of YbAl3 with ErAl3 and LuAl3. Results for electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, and Seebeck coefficient for several of these solid solutions over the temperature range of 80 K to 300 K are reported. Although most substituted samples are driven toward a metallic state, we find that for some compositions the figure of merit is enhanced relative to pure YbAl3.  相似文献

A conformationally rigid cellulose model, the 4′,6′-O-benzylidene derivative of 1,5-anhydrocellobiitol, has been studied to learn more about the mechanisms of chain cleavage reactions under alkaline pulping conditions. Heating the model at 170°C in 2.5N NaOH gave 55% glycon-oxygen (G-O) bond cleavage, and ~45% oxygen-aglycon (O-A) bond cleavage. The amount of observed O-A bond cleavage is significantly higher than that for 1,5-anhydrocellobiitol. The benzylidene model also degraded about ~35% faster than 1,5-anhydrocellobiitol; much of this rate increase can be attributed to a faster rate of O-A bond cleavage for the benzylidene model. The greater amount of O-A bond cleavage in the benzylidene case may be attributable to a more highly substituted glycosyl ring (making the ring a better anion leaving group) and/or to a more conformationally inflexible glycosyl ring. The inflexibility restricts one of the standard G-O bond cleavage mechanisms, namely the SNicB(2′) mechanism. The results point out the value of choosing appropriate cellulose models.  相似文献

This research analyzes the qualitative and quantitative behavior of aerosol dynamics resulting from the control of nitrogen oxide (NO x ) and volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions by calculating detailed pollutant isopleths. Several emission scenarios are evaluated using various norms to study the nonlinear impact of control strategies. The modeling episode studied is the Southern California Air Quality Study on August 27, 28, and 29, 1987. The modeling domain is the South Coast Air Basin of California. Research suggests that the reduction of NO x and VOC emissions traditionally implemented to control ozone also controls particulate matter, but to a limited extent. Furthermore, the effects of reducing NH 3 are more effective in PM control than reducing both NO x and VOC. Simulations indicate that the combined control of NH 3 , NO x , and VOC emissions is most effective to reduce particulate matter and ozone in the South Coast Air Basin of California.  相似文献

Wear and friction behavior of slider materials at cryogenic temperature is important to the development of seals and bearings for missile powerplants. Data were obtained in liquid nitrogen (?320°F) with a series of molded and extruded polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) compositions containing various filler materials. A 3/16-in. radius rider specimen (PTFE materials) was caused to slide in a circumferential path on the flat surface of a rotating -in. diameter disk specimen (usually type 304 stainless steel). The sliding velocity was usually 2300 ft per min and the load was 1000 grams.

As compared with reference steels and carbons used in conventional seals and bearings, the filled PTFE compositions gave low wear and friction (friction coefficients from 0.06 to 0.13) in liquid nitrogen. Several extruded compositions have particular promise for seal and bearing materials. An extruded glass-filled material gave wear and friction that was essentially unaffected by sliding velocities to 6000 ft per min.  相似文献

Steady-state components of heat conduction solutions may have very slowly convergent series for temperatures and non-convergent heat fluxes for temperature boundary conditions. Previous papers have proposed methods to remove these convergence problems. However, even more effective procedures based on insights of Morse and Feshbach are given herein. In some cases it is possible to replace poorly-convergent or non-convergent series by closed-form algebraic solutions. Examples are given.  相似文献

The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Third Edition (WAIS-III; D. Wechsler, 1997) permits the calculation of both traditional IQ and index scores. However, if only the subtests constituting the index scores are administered, especially those yielding the Verbal Comprehension and Perceptual Organization Indexes, there is no equivalent measure of Full Scale IQ. Following the procedure for calculating a General Ability Index (GAI; A. Prifitera, L. G. Weiss, & D. H. The objective of this paper is to utilize recent advances in information technology and computer collaboration tools to improve coordination and increase productivity in the design of building projects. Based on a structured information model, presented in a companion paper, a collaborative design system is developed incorporating (1) a client-server environment for representing building data, recording design rationale, and effectively managing design changes; and (2) Internet-based collaboration tools for sharing documents, reviewing changes, and conferencing among remote design participants. Implementation issues and the perceived changes imposed on the traditional design process are discussed, and an example application is worked to demonstrate the applicability and features of the developed prototype. The developments made in this paper provide guidelines for modeling complex information-dependent processes in the construction domain.  相似文献

The field of organizational justice continues to he marked by several important research questions, including the size of relationships among justice dimensions, the relative importance of different justice criteria, and the unique effects of justice dimensions on key outcomes. To address such questions, the authors conducted a meta-analytic review of 183 justice studies. The results suggest that although different justice dimensions are moderately to highly related, they contribute incremental variance explained in fairness perceptions. The results also illustrate the overall and unique relationships among distributive, procedural, interpersonal, and informational justice and several organizational outcomes (e.g., job satisfaction, organizational commitment, evaluation of authority, organizational citizenship behavior, withdrawal, performance).
