Pseudomonas denitrificans pre-cultured (revived from agar plates) under varying conditions (nitrate absent or present; dissolved oxygen absent or present) was subsequently grown aerobically with or without nitrate present, and finally exposed to anoxic conditions (i.e., aeration stopped and dissolved oxygen stripped from solution). The occurrence and length of diauxic lags following transition from aerobic to anoxic conditions were affected strongly by the nitrate and oxygen exposure history of the biomass.  相似文献

Despite the long operating experience with steam power units in the Electric Power System of Serbia (out of which some are at the end of or had even passed their planned working lives), unfortunately, there is a lack of data for their operating regimes, process parameters and performance deviations, the economy and operating states for the previous period. These data would not only be useful for optimal process control, but also for the planning of maintenance, retrofits and repowering of power plants. For these and other equally important reasons, the software system for the diagnosis of operating conditions, control of economy and operating states of different components has been developed for the referential steam power unit. A better control of the process and operating state, thanks to the use of the results obtained with this software system, will bring a lasting benefit to the efficiency and economy increase. Furthermore, it will enable an increase of reliability and availability of steam turbine units and make their working life longer. The basic characteristics of this software system and some of the results obtained by its testing using the available data base for referential unit operation are presented in this paper.  相似文献

The article presents a new method for the design of decentralized networked switched controllers to mitigate the response of building structures under earthquakes. It consists of two phases. The first phase generates low‐order gain matrices based on the linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control design. It includes a substructural approach when the equations of motion of substructures are extracted from the equation of motion of the overall structures described by a finite element in‐plane (2‐D) model. Appropriate model reduction procedures, determination of damping as well as the selection of sensor and actuators locations and models are applied to each substructure. The sensors and actuators are implemented into the design model. Both resulting reduced‐order state space models of substructures are used for the proper LQG control design. The obtained local controllers are implemented into the overall structure to evaluate the performance of the closed‐loop system. Displacement, drift, acceleration, maximal actuator forces as well as dynamic responses on selected locations are checked. The computational originality is the method derived under the subsequent second phase, where the gain matrices computed in the first phase serve as a tool for the design of decentralized networked switched controller. The switching is realized periodically between two switched modes. Each mode corresponds with only one active local feedback loop for a certain period of time. The network parameter is the time interval of activity of each mode determined by a given protocol. Robustness of performance against packet dropouts and sensor faults is tested. A numerical example of the decentralized networked switched controller design applied on the 20‐story high‐fidelity building benchmark model is supplied. The simulation tests show the proposed method exhibits acceptable performance.  相似文献

A new micro-kinetic model of the enzyme-catalyzed synthesis of fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) was developed. A commercial enzyme mixture Pectinex® Ultra SP-L derived from Aspergillus aculeatus was used. A variety of initial enzyme concentrations (1–5 vol%) and sucrose concentrations (400–600 g/L) were experimentally investigated and included in kinetic modeling. Several variations of kinetic mechanisms and corresponding models have been examined. A hybrid genetic algorithm was used to predict the kinetic parameters simultaneously for all experimental data. The best fitting model has been adopted, and with an average error of 13.34%, it describes the experimental data very well. The influence of initial concentrations on the conversion of sucrose and production of FOS is being carefully investigated. It was shown that the initial sucrose concentration significantly affects the highest level of FOS concentration, but the enzyme concentration controls the time at which maximum is reached as well as the rate of FOS decomposition.  相似文献

The aim of this study is to investigate in vitro antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anticancer activities of the acetone extracts of the lichens Cladonia furcata, Cladonia pyxidata and Cladonia rangiferina and their atranorin and fumarprotocetraric acid constituents. Antioxidant activity was evaluated by free radical scavenging, superoxide anion radical scavenging, reducing power, and determination of total phenolic and flavonoid compounds. As a result of the study atranorin had largest free radical scavenging activity with IC50 values 131.48 μg/mL. Moreover, the tested samples had effective reducing power and superoxide anion radical scavenging. Total content of phenol and flavonoid in extracts was determined as pyrocatechol equivalent, and as rutin equivalent, respectively. The strong relationships between total phenolic and flavonoid contents and the antioxidant effect of tested extracts were observed. The antimicrobial activity was estimated by determination of the minimal inhibitory concentration by the broth microdilution method. The most active was fumarprotocetraric acid with minimum inhibitory concentration values ranging from 0.031 to 0.125 mg/mL. Anticancer activity was tested against FemX (human melanoma) and LS174 (human colon carcinoma) cell lines using MTT method. All samples were found to be strong anticancer activity toward both cell lines with IC50 values ranging from 10.97 to 41.23 μg/mL.  相似文献

Abstract: The aim of this study is to investigate in vitro antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anticancer activity of the acetone extracts of the lichens Umbilicaria crustulosa, U. cylindrica, and U. polyphylla. Antioxidant activity was evaluated by 5 separate methods: free radical scavenging, superoxide anion radical scavenging, reducing power, determination of total phenolic compounds, and determination of total flavonoid content. Of the lichens tested, U. polyphylla had largest free radical scavenging activity (72.79% inhibition at a concentration of 1 mg/mL), which was similar as standard antioxidants in the same concentration. Moreover, the tested extracts had effective reducing power and superoxide anion radical scavenging. Total content of phenol and flavonoid in extracts was determined as pyrocatechol equivalent, and as rutin equivalent, respectively. The strong relationships between total phenolic and flavonoid contents and the antioxidant effect of tested extracts were observed. The antimicrobial activity was estimated by determination of the minimal inhibitory concentration by the broth microdilution method. The most active was extract of U. polyphylla with minimum inhibitory concentration values ranging from 1.56 to 12.5 mg/mL. Anticancer activity was tested against FemX (human melanoma) and LS174 (human colon carcinoma) cell lines using MTT method. All extracts were found to be strong anticancer activity toward both cell lines with IC50 values ranging from 28.45 to 97.82 μg/mL. The present study shows that tested lichen extracts demonstrated a strong antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anticancer effects. That suggests that lichens may be used as possible natural antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anticancer agents.  相似文献

In order to establish a reliable procedure for estimation of air pressure drop, experiments on plate finned tube heat exchangers have been conducted, as well as the research on the open literature. The procedure of Kays and London was tested against the experimental data and significant level of uncertainty was found. Using own experimental data, as well as previously published data of Kays and London, new correlation for estimation of air pressure drop has been established. Statistical parameters of new correlation enable the conclusion that it can be used for wide range of Reynolds numbers.  相似文献
