The rapid development in the information technology field has introduced digital watermark technologies as a solution to prevent unauthorized copying and redistribution of data. This article introduces a self-embedded image verification and integrity scheme. The images are firstly split into dedicated segments of the same block sizes. Then, different Analytic Beta-Wavelet (ABW) orthogonal filters are utilized for embedding a self-segment watermark for image segment using a predefined method. ABW orthogonal filter coefficients are estimated to improve image reconstruction under different block sizes. We conduct a comparative study comparing the watermarked images using three kinds of ABW filters for block sizes 64 × 64, 128 × 128, and 256 × 256. We embed the watermark using the ABW-based image watermarking method in the 2-level middle frequency sub-bands of the ABW digital image coefficients. The imperceptibility and robustness of the ABW-based image watermarking method image is evaluated based on the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Correlation coefficient values. Responses of ozone and PM2.5 to emission changes are coupled because of interactions between their precursors. Here we show the interdependencies of ozone and PM2.5 responses to emission changes in 2001 and 2050, with the future case accounting for both currently planned emission controls and climate change. Current responses of ozone and PM2.5 to emissions are quantified and linked on a daily basis for five cities in the continental United States: Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and NewYork. Reductions in anthropogenic NO(x) emissions decrease 24-h average PM2.5 levels but may either increase or decrease daily maximum 8-h average ozone levels. Regional ozone maxima for all the cities are more sensitive to NO(x) reductions than at the city center, particularly in New York and Chicago. Planned controls of anthropogenic NO(x) emissions lead to more positive responses to NO(x) reductions in the future. Sensitivities of ozone and PM2.5 to anthropogenic VOC emissions are predicted to decrease between 2001 and 2050. Ammonium nitrate formation is predicted to be less ammonia-sensitive in 2050 than 2001 while the opposite is true for ammonium sulfate. Sensitivity of PM2.5 to SO2 and NO(x) emissions changes little between 2001 and 2050. Both ammonium sulfate and ammonium nitrate are predicted to decrease in sensitivity to SO2 and NO(x) emissions between 2001 and 2050. The complexities, linkages, and daily changes in the pollutant responses to emission changes suggest that strategies developed to meet specific air quality standards should consider other air quality impacts as well. 相似文献

The aim of this study is to enrich edible oils with carotenoids and lycopene from tomato purée or tomato peel, an industrial tomato waste. These tomato derivatives were incorporated in refined olive oil, extra virgin olive oil and refined sunflower oil. The incorporation of peel enhanced the concentration of β-carotene and lycopene more than tomato purée. Furthermore, the incorporation of both tomato purée and peel induced better thermal stability of the refined olive oil compared to extra virgin oil and sunflower oil. A decrease on total phenols as well as some prooxidant activity account for this, when tomato purée was incorporated. In our oil preparations, rutin and naringenin, as flavonoids coming exclusively from tomato purée or peel, were detected. The enrichment of oils with tomato carotenoids and lycopene, in particular low quality oils like refined olive oils, might be an alternative approach to elaborate new functional foods. 相似文献

Summary: The use of lignocellulosic fibers, pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) and sisal as reinforcements in thermoplastic and thermosetting resins for developing low cost and lightweight composites is an emerging field of research in polymer science and technology. Although, these biofibers have several advantages, such as low densities, low cost, nonabrasive nature, high filling level possible, low energy consumption, high specific properties, biodegradability, etc., over synthetic fibers, the absorption of moisture by untreated biofibers, poor wettability, and insufficient adhesion between the polymer matrix and fiber deteriorate the mechanical properties of composites made up of these biofibers. Therefore, the modification of these fibers is a key area of research at present to obtain optimum fiber‐matrix properties. This review article is concerned with the structure, composition and properties of PALF and sisal, the chemical modifications of these fibers and PALF/sisal‐reinforced thermosets, thermoplastics, rubber, cement, hybrids and biocomposites.

In this work the applicability of the micro-channel reactor technique to the production of promising platform chemical 5-hydroxymethyl furan (HMF) from fructose in aqueous solution is systemically investigated by performing CFD simulations. Influential factors including solvents, residence time distribution of reaction mixtures, heat transfer conditions and micro-channel configurations are evaluated in terms of the reaction performance indices, i.e., conversion of fructose, HMF selectivity and yield. A scale-up method from a single channel to a multiple channel reactor is also proposed. It is demonstrated that: 1) at the single channel scale, controlling residence times and temperature distribution of the reaction mixture within the channel is crucial for enhancing the reaction performance, while different channel configurations lead to marginal improvements; 2) for the scaling-up of the reaction process, a reactor module containing 15 circular parallel channels could be used as module blocks, which can be stacked one by one to meet the required reactor performance and production capacity.
