Melanoma is one of the most aggressive and progressive skin cancers. It develops from normal pigment-producing cells known as melanocytes, so it is important to know the mechanism behind such transformations. The study of metastasis mechanisms is crucial for a better understanding the biology of neoplastic cells. Metastasis of melanoma, or any type of cancer, is a multi-stage process in which the neoplastic cells leave the primary tumour, travel through the blood and/or lymphatic vessels, settle in distant organs and create secondary tumours. MicroRNA (miRNA) can participate in several steps of the metastatic process. Transparent cobalt‐doped magnesium aluminate spinel (Co:MgAl2O4) ceramics with a submicrometer grain size were prepared by spark plasma sintering. For the first time, the nonlinear absorption of Co:MgAl2O4 transparent ceramics was experimentally demonstrated. Both ground state absorption (σGSA) and excited state absorption (σESA) were estimated using the solid‐state slow saturable absorber model based on absorption saturation measurements performed at 1.535 μm. σGSA and σESA for 0.03 at.% Co:MgAl2O4 were found to be 4.1 × 10?19 cm2 and 4.0 × 10?20 cm2, respectively. In the case of 0.06 at.% Co:MgAl2O4 ceramics, σGSA = 2.6 × 10?19 cm2 and σESA= 5.3 × 10?20 cm2 were determined. 相似文献

The objective of this study was to evaluate the potential of double wall material combinations, using legume protein (soy protein isolate and pea protein isolate) in combination with wheat dextrin soluble fiber or trehalose, as alternative materials for microencapsulation of flaxseed oil by spray drying. The obtained preparations, with oil content of 35%, were fine and difficult flowing powders, regardless of their composition. The 1% addition of silica to the powders significantly reduced their cohesiveness and improved their flowability. The efficiency of microencapsulation, calculated based on oil fat content, ranged from 62 to 98% and was higher in the powders with trehalose and in the powders containing soy protein. Effective protection against oxidation of microencapsulated oil was achieved in the protein-trehalose matrix, especially in the case of the vacuum-packed powders with pea protein during storage at refrigeration temperature. Replacing trehalose with soluble fiber enabled formation of powders less susceptible to caking under conditions of increased humidity, but it resulted in decreased microencapsulation efficiency. The combination of pea protein/carbohydrate resulted in the formation of microcapsules with porous structure, especially in the system with soluble fiber. With time, the structure of the primary emulsions and those reconstituted from powders containing pea protein changed from liquid to greasy and paste-like. 相似文献

Transparent and intumescent polymer‐silicate hydrogels were synthesized by free‐radical polymerization, in the presence of the redox initiators system (potassium persulphate/sodium thiosulphate) and cross‐linking monomer (N,N′‐methylenebisacrylamide). Hydrogels obtained in such a manner were rheologically tested and it was found that the same sample with a different sodium acrylate concentration polymerized faster when its content was lower. The spectroscopic and thermal analysis proved that the polymer combines with sodium silicate by hydrogen bonds and during thermal degradation only small polymer fragments and water molecules were released. NMR studies have shown that the content of water glass causes shorter relaxation times. Conducted fire tests showed that glass panes systems filled with the tested hydrogels meet the relevant construction standards and what is their big advantage, a thin 1 mm layer of polymer‐silicate gel is sufficient for this purpose. We believe that these results will contribute to the development of intumescent hydrogels with enhanced fire‐retardant properties. POLYM. ENG. Experimental studies were performed on the kinetics of the three‐phase contact formation and bubble attachment to a quartz surface in solutions of a cationic surfactant of various concentrations. By tuning the distance between the single‐bubble formation point and the quartz surface immersed in the solution, the influence of the state of the dynamic adsorption layer over a rising bubble on the mechanism of rupture of a wetting film formed was elucidated. Based on the unique methodology, allowing precise control over the initial degree of adsorption coverage at the detaching bubble, new evidence was found confirming the electrostatic character of the wetting film rupture in cationic surfactant solutions of low concentrations. 相似文献

The incidence of type 2 diabetes (T2D) has been increasing worldwide, and diabetic kidney disease (DKD) remains one of the leading long-term complications of T2D. Several lines of evidence indicate that glucose-lowering agents prevent the onset and progression of DKD in its early stages but are of limited efficacy in later stages of DKD. However, sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) and glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) agonists were shown to exert nephroprotective effects in patients with established DKD, i.e., those who had a reduced glomerular filtration rate. These effects cannot be solely attributed to the improved metabolic control of diabetes. In our review, we attempted to discuss the interactions of both groups of agents with inflammation and oxidative stress—the key pathways contributing to organ damage in the course of diabetes. SGLT2i and GLP-1R agonists attenuate inflammation and oxidative stress in experimental in vitro and in vivo models of DKD in several ways. In addition, we have described experiments showing the same protective mechanisms as found in DKD in non-diabetic kidney injury models as well as in some tissues and organs other than the kidney. The interaction between both drug groups, inflammation and oxidative stress appears to have a universal mechanism of organ protection in diabetes and other diseases. 相似文献

Serine‐proteinase‐catalyzed peptide splicing was demonstrated in analogues of the trypsin inhibitor SFTI‐1: both single peptides and two‐peptide chains (C‐ and N‐terminal peptide chains linked by a disulfide bridge). In the second series, peptide splicing with catalytic amount of proteinase was observed only when formation of acyl–enzyme intermediate was preceded by hydrolysis of the substrate Lys–Ser peptide bond. Here we demonstrate that with an equimolar amount of the proteinase, splicing occurs in all the two‐peptide‐chain analogues. This conclusion was supported by high resolution crystal structures of selected analogues in complex with trypsin. We showed that the process followed a direct transpeptidation mechanism. Thus, the acyl–enzyme intermediate was formed and was immediately used for a new peptide bond formation; products associated with the hydrolysis of the acyl–enzyme were not observed. The peptide splicing was sequence‐ not structure‐specific. 相似文献
