Effects of medium and chemical modification on thermal characteristics of Β-lactoglobulin

The thermal properties of -lactoglobulin (-LG) were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) under different medium conditions.pH, neutral salts, protein perturbants, and polyols all affected the DSC characteristics of -LG. Acylation with fatty acids also changed the thermal properties, particularly peak width at half-height. The results suggest that the structural stability of -LG is controlled by non-covalent forces, particularly electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions. Disulfide bonds did not contribute to the thermal response of -LG. Fatty N-acyl-amino acids caused marked increases in thermal stability and decreases in denaturation enthalpy, and additional peaks were observed in the presence of some palmitoyl derivatives.Contribution No. 2310, Centre for Food and Animal Research.We thank D. Hydrothermal synthesis and novel two-dimensional architecture with fluorescent properties constructed using 2-bromo-1,4-benzenedicarboxylate

A novel two-dimensional complex, [Cu(bbdc)(phen)]·(H₂O)(bbdc = 2-bromo-1,4-benzenedicarboxylate dianion; phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), has been synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray analysis. The crystal structure consists of infinite chains of [Cu₂( ₄-bbdc)]²⁺ units connected by bis-monodentate bbdc ligands, the coordination mode of which [ ₄-bbdc] is very rare in the phenyldicarboxylate complexes. The substituent group of bbdc is believed to be the growth key of this coordination network.     

CCl2自由基与H2O分子反应动力学研究

用213 nm激光光解CCl4产生CCl2自由基，用LP LIF技术测定了室温下基态CCl2自由基与H2O分子的反应速率常数为(5.45±0.95)×10－14 cm3•molecule－1•s－1.在G2MP2理论水平上计算了CCl2＋H2O反应的最低单重态势能面，揭示了插入与加成 消除两种反应机理，得到了三个可能的产物通道:HCl＋HClCO、HCl＋trans ClCOH以及HCl＋cis ClCOH.并用RRKM TST和传统过渡态理论计算了这三个通道的分支比及其温度效应.结果说明在低温下（273 K），插入机理的产物通道的分支比远大于加成 消除机理的产物通道， HCl＋HClCO是主要产物，分支比为77.4％，其次是HCl＋cis ClCOH，分支比为22.6％.而在高温下（3000 K），加成 消除机理的反应通道大于插入机理， HCl＋trans ClCOH分支比为82.3％.     

Simultaneous hydrogen and peroxide production by photocatalytic water splitting

Photocatalytic oxidation of water is a promising method to realize large-scale H₂O₂ production without a hazardous and energy-intensive process. In this study, we introduce a Pt/TiO₂(anatase) photocatalyst to construct a simple and environmentally friendly system to achieve simultaneous H₂ and H₂O₂ production. Both H₂ and H₂O₂ are high-value chemicals, and their separation is automatic. Even without the assistance of a sacrificial agent, the system can reach an efficiency of 7410 and 5096 μmol g^–1 h^–1 (first 1 h) for H₂ and H₂O₂, respectively, which is much higher than that of a commercial Pt/TiO₂(anatase) system that has a similar morphology. This exceptional activity is attributed to the more favorable two-electron oxidation of water to H₂O₂, compared with the four-electron oxidation of water to O₂.

Summary A method is described for the determination of alkaloids in morning glory leaves by means of spectrophotofluorimetry. The total alkaloidal contents found in different batches of leaves ranged from 0.027 to 0.04%.

Zusammenfassung Ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Gesamtalkaloide in den Blättern vonIpomoea violacea wurde angegeben. Spektralfluoreszenzmessungen ergaben für verschiedene Chargen solcher Blätter Gehalte von 0,027 bis 0,04%.

Pt-Sn脱氢催化剂浸渍状态的Sn-119和Pt-195的多核NMR研究

测定了Ｐｔ－Ｓｎ型催化剂浸渍状态下的Ｓｎ－１１９、Ｐｔ－１９５的多核核磁共振。当ＳｎＣｌ２／ＤＣｌ溶液体系中加入Ｈ２ＰｔＣｌ６以后，出现了Ｓｎ（Ⅳ）和另外一种Ｓｎ（Ⅱ）的构型，Ｓｎ－１１９峰向高场位移，说明部分Ｓｎ（Ⅱ）被氧化成Ｓｎ（Ⅳ），Ｈ２ＰｔＣｌ６的量对这种氧化性影响较小。而Ｈ２ＰｔＣｌ６／Ｄ２Ｏ溶液体系中加入ＳｎＣｌ２以后部分Ｐｔ（Ⅳ）被还原成Ｐｔ（Ⅱ），随着ＳｎＣｌ２量的增加，Ｐｔ（Ⅱ）     

以交联聚乙烯醇为载体的离子交换剂对蛋白质的分离性能

本文对阴离子交换剂ＤＥＡ—ＰＶＴ常压液相离子交换色谱分离蛋白质的性能、分离条件进行了探讨。结果表明其对蛋白质的分离性能良好，容易洗脱。与载体交联聚乙烯醇相比，ＤＥＡ—ＰＶＴ对蛋白质的非特异性吸附明显降低。     

Continuous wavelet transform applied to removing the fluctuating background in near-infrared spectra

A novel method based on continuous wavelet transform (CWT) was proposed as a preprocessing tool for the near-infrared (NIR) spectra. Due to the property of the vanishing moments of the wavelet, the fluctuating background of the NIR spectra can be successfully removed through convolution of the spectra with an appropriate wavelet function. The vanishing moments of a wavelet and the scale parameter are two key factors that govern the result of the background elimination. The result of its application to both the simulated spectra and the NIR spectra of tobacco samples demonstrates that CWT is a competitive tool for removing fluctuating background in spectra.     

利用跟踪TPR—GC和XRD技术考察LaNiO3的还原机理

钙钛矿型复合氧化物对许多反应具有较高的催化活性,它们被广泛地用作CO氧化的催化剂.陈水华等对SmMeO_3(Me:V、Cr、Mn、Fe、Co)和Tascon等对LaMeO_3(Me:V、Cr、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni)上CO催化活性评价说明,LnMnO_3和LnCoO_3(Ln=La、Sm)活性最好,而LaNiO_3则表现和LaCoO_3相似活性,由此可推断这些氧化物具有相似的催化性能.本文用TPR-GC和XRD考察了在还原气氛下,LaNiO_3的还原机理,这对研究其电、磁特性具有一定的指导意义.     

Capillary electrophoresis with field-enhanced stacking for rapid and sensitive determination of strychnine and brucine

A new capillary electrophoresis procedure with field-enhanced stacking concentration for the analysis of strychnine and brucine is established. After optimization of the separation and concentration conditions, the two alkaloids can be separated within 5 min and quantified with high sensitivity (The detection limits were 1.0 ng mL(-1) for strychnine and 1.4 ng mL(-1) for brucine). The method was useful for qualitative and quantitative analysis of strychnine and brucine in Strychnos nux-vomica L with recovery of 105.1% for strychnine and 98.4% for brucine.
