Supersymmetry of FRW Barotropic Cosmologies

Barotropic FRW cosmologies are presented from the standpoint of nonrelativistic supersymmetry. First, we reduce the barotropic FRW system of differential equations to simple harmonic oscillator differential equations. Employing the factorization procedure, the solutions of the latter equations are divided into the two classes of bosonic (nonsingular) and fermionic (singular) cosmological solutions. We next introduce a coupling parameter denoted by K between the two classes of solutions and obtain barotropic cosmologies with dissipative features acting on the scale factors and spatial curvature of the universe. The K-extended FRW equations in comoving time are presented in explicit form in the low coupling regime. The standard barotropic FRW cosmologies correspond to the dissipationless limit K = 0.     

Dominant structures in jet streams

A Hamiltonian version has been formulated for the model of axisymmetric equally rotating jet streams with a free boundary. In the framework of this approach, dominant structures, i.e., structure elements appearing in strongly disturbed jet streams at the preturbulent stage of their decay, are studied. It has been shown that compactons, i.e., solution with a compact support, can be such dominant structures. Analysis of the mechanism of the instability of compactons shows the possibility of collapse, which occurs almost without deformation of their shape but leads to the intensification of the vortex sheet at the boundary according to the law (t ₀ ? t)^?1, where t ₀ is the collapse time.

NMR protocol for on-line Brix determination

Water suppression by diffusive attenuation was used to measure Brix in intact cellular tissue of apple and strawberry. Given the signal-to-noise ratio, the correlation for apple was established without repeated acquisition, so this protocol should also be useful for rapid, on-line measurements at low spectrometer frequencies. Water suppression by theT ₁-Null method fails with cellular tissue because of the considerable variation in the longitudinal relaxation times of vacuolar and cytoplasmic water.     

Numerical analysis of the Toda lattice equations

Numerical solutions to three systems of integrable evolutionary equations from the Toda lattice hierarchy are analyzed. These are the classical Toda lattice, the second local dispersive flow, and the second extended dispersive flow. Special attention is given to the properties of soliton solutions. For the equations of the second local flow, two types of solitons interacting in a special manner are found. Solutions corresponding to various initial data are qualitatively outlined.     

Fermi surface and thermoelectric power of (Bi1−x Sbx)2Te3<Ag, Sn> mixed crystals

The Fermi surface anisotropy of (Bi_1?x Sb_x)₂Te₃ single crystals (0.25 ≤ x ≤ 1) was studied by analyzing the angular dependence of the frequency of Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations and the effect of tin and silver doping on the thermoelectric power in these crystals in the temperature range 77 ≤ T ≤ 300 K. It was shown that silver doping of (Bi_1?x Sb_x)₂Te₃ mixed crystals produces acceptors, while silver in Bi₂Te₃ acts as a donor. Tin also exhibits acceptor properties. Both tin and silver doping of p-(Bi_1?x Sb_x)₂Te₃ mixed crystals decrease the thermoelectric power due to an increase in the hole concentration.     

Structure of the control parameter space for a nonautonomous piecewise linear oscillator

The variation of the structure of the control parameter space for a nonautonomous nonlinear oscillator is demonstrated with a harmonically excited nonautonomous oscillatory circuit with a piecewise linear capacitance.     

Sizes of Critical Graphs with Small Maximum Degrees

In this paper, we give new lower bounds for the size of Δ-critical graphs with Δ=8,9 which improve the partial results of Luo [6] and Y. Zhao [12].
