How annealing influences the morphology of a highly regioregular poly(3‐hexylthiophene) (RR‐P3HT) film at the substrate interface as well as the lateral inhomogeneity in the electronic structure of the film are elucidated. Whereas previous studies have reported that high‐molecular‐weight (MW) RR‐P3HT films tend to show low crystallinity even after annealing, it is found that high‐MW RR‐P3HT does show high crystallinity after annealing at high temperature for a long time. Photoemission electron microscopy (PEEM), X‐ray photoemission spectroscopy, and ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy results clearly resolve a considerable lateral inhomogeneity in the morphology of RR‐P3HT film, which results in a variation of the electronic structure depending on the local crystallinity. The PEEM results show how annealing facilitates crystal growth in a high‐MW RR‐P3HT film.  相似文献

A cold storage system specialized in mobile high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets (e.g. for magnetically levitated (maglev) vehicles) has been proposed. In this system, a cooling source is detachable and a HTS coil is capable of maintaining superconducting state with its heat capacity. This system allows a considerably lightweight HTS magnet.An apparatus was constructed to evaluate the possibility of using cold storage systems in maglev vehicles. The thermal characteristic of this apparatus was based on a magnet for previous maglev test vehicles [1]. The operational temperature range of the magnet was assumed from 20 K to 50 K. Some experiments indicated that heat conduction by residual gas was not negligible. Especially over 30 K, gas conduction took a large part of heat input. This phenomenon is attributable to reduction of cryopumping effect. However, activated carbon in the apparatus compensates cryopumping effect. A unique heat capacitor was also used to enhance the cold storage effect. Water ice was chosen as a heat capacitor because water ice has a higher heat capacity than metallic materials at cryogenic temperatures. A small amount of water ice also prolonged cryogenic temperature condition. These results indicate 1 day of cold storage is probable in a magnet for maglev vehicles.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential of an in situ gelling pectin formulation as a vehicle for the oral sustained delivery of theophylline and cimetidine. In vitro studies demonstrated diffusion-controlled release of theophylline from 1, 1.5, and 2% w/v pectin gels. Release of this drug from 1.5% w/v pectin gels formed in situ in rabbit stomach was sustained over a period of 12 hours giving a theophylline bioavailability some seven fold higher than when administered from a commercial syrup. In contrast, interactions between cimetidine and pectin led to weak gelation of the pectin sols that prevented any meaningful determination of in vitro release characteristics. Similarly, in vivo release profiles from pectin formulations containing cimetidine were similar to that from a solution of this drug in buffer, indicative of weak gelation. Examination of the content of the rabbit stomach 5 hours after administration of 1.5% w/v pectin sols containing drug confirmed gel formation, but gels containing cimetidine were noticeably softer than those containing theophylline.  相似文献

Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA)-based bone cement is widely used for the fixation of artificial joints. However, it is not considered a bioactive material because it lacks the ability to induce a direct bond with bone. In order to improve the long-term stability of cemented fixations, the development of bioactive bone cements is desirable. An essential requirement of a bioactive material includes the induction of bone-like apatite on its surface within the in vivo environment. Previously, we prepared bioactive PMMA-based bone cements by a modification with water-soluble calcium salts and alkoxysilane. Because spatial design may enhance apatite formation on bioactive material surfaces in vivo, we aimed to evaluate the effect of spatial design on apatite formation on modified PMMA-based bone cements in simulated body fluid (SBF). We found that an appropriate spatial design shortened the induction period for the apatite deposition on the modified bone cements. It is expected that osteoconduction would be enhanced in spontaneously created gap between the cement and the host bone leading to tight integration.  相似文献

This paper reports the pump and probe experiment for in situ reflectivity measurements in the femtosecond laser ablation that brings about nanoscale modification of diamond-like carbon (DLC) film. The characteristic reflectivity changes observed demonstrate that the formation of periodic nanostructure is preceded by a change in bonding structure of DLC in the ablation at low fluences. We have observed a coherent nonlinear wave-mixing signal that can resolve the ultrafast interaction processes for the nanoscale modification on the film surface. Based on the results obtained, a model of the interaction process is proposed.  相似文献

We have investigated the microstructure of the poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) films using small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS and WAXS, respectively) techniques. The samples were uniaxially drawn in water or KI/I2 aqueous solution and then dried in an air-oven at 333 K for 1 h prior to SAXS and WAXS measurements. It was found that for the films drawn in KI/I2 solution PVA chains in the microfibrillar structure are more extended upon the film drawing compared to the case of the films drawn in pure water, which is resulted from the correlation function analysis on the SAXS data. Adsorbed iodines into the film were anticipated to act as junction points between the microfibrils via the formation of the PVA-iodine complexes.  相似文献

In 1998, Toyo Gosei Co. published a paper on the development of a new water‐soluble photopolymer of high sensitivity, PVA‐ARBB. In close co‐operation with LG. Philips Displays, the new material was further developed to be applicable in patterning the phosphor layer of a CRT screen. The new material shows about 3 times higher light sensitivity, gives 4–5% higher luminance, has no dark reaction, and is chromium‐free. It is the first chromium‐free photoresist used for phosphor patterning in CRT mass production. A comparison is presented between the conventional resist and the new resist. In an attempt to obtain finest possible microparticles of BaTiO3 (BT) with highest possible tetragonality via a solid state route, starting mixtures comprising BaCO3 and TiO2 were subjected to various pretreatments including addition of glycine and mechanical activation. Reaction processes were monitored by the changes in the weight, crystallinity, and morphology in detail. While mechanical activation with glycine significantly increased the rate of reaction and homogeneity of the particle size of the product, BT, simultaneous particle growth of BT was intolerably acute for micro-electronic devices. The fast particle coarsening was predominated by the coalescence of BT tiny particles formed around titania. A mixture with higher homogeneity was attained by using finer starting materials under wet mixing, avoiding significant mechanical stressing. Particle growth of BT was suppressed to ca. 100 nm to obtain fully crystallized BT particles without significant loss of tetragonality and, hence, close to meet our requirements for MLCCs.  相似文献

The effects of UV radiation on humans and animals are receiving increasing attention and much interest has recently been focused on the environmental effects of UV A and UV B. This study compares the in vitro effects of UV A and UV B on the clonogenic survival of two human skin keratinocyte cell lines, HaCaT which are immortal but not tumorigenic and HPV-G transfected keratinocytes which form non malignant tumours in nude mice. The effects were also studied on an EPC fish cell line. The aim of the work was to establish if similar initial and delayed survival responses occurred in both species. The cells were exposed to ultraviolet lamps emitting maximally at 365 nm (UV A) and 302 nm (UV B). Clonogenic survival was determined at appropriate times post exposure. Results for the initial survival curves show that the HaCaT and HPV-G cells did not show any appreciable difference in their response to UV A but the EPC cells were more sensitive at doses < 3000 Jm-2. The EPC cells were more sensitive to UV B at doses < 200 Jm-2 in comparison to the human HaCaT and HPV-G cells with the HPV-G cells showing the most sensitivity to UV B at doses > 200 Jm-2. The possible contribution of lethal mutations (delayed cell death) to the UV radiation response in the HaCaT and EPC cell lines was examined. The results showed that lethal mutations were expressed in the HaCaT cells following exposure to UV A and UV B but no lethal mutations were expressed in the EPC cells.  相似文献
