The choice of a highly resistive substrate for silicon millimeter-wave integrated circuits (SIMMWIC) imposed by the requirement of low RF-substrate losses requires the adaptation of a CMOS process on float zone silicon (FZ). A comparison of n- and p-channel devices realized on high resistivity substrate (p-type, 5000 Ω·cm) and standard CMOS substrates (CZ, n-type, 4-6 Ω·cm) is given. The infiltration of compacted cubic BN (cBN) with molten aluminum has been investigated as a potential route for a cheap and easy method of manufacturing cBN/metal composites. CBN compacts have been infiltrated with molten Al at a temperature between 670 and 800 °C and pressure of 15 MPa in vacuum. At these temperatures no pronounced interactions between hexagonal and cubic BN with Al was observed, allowing the complete infiltration of cBN with 12 μm mean grain size. After infiltration at 800 °C, the temperature was increased without pressure to convert aluminum into borides and AlN. The hardness of the resulting materials depends on the content of hexagonal, cubic BN and the rate of conversion of Al into borides and AlN. The infiltration height of less than 1 mm obtained from infiltrating the 3 μm cBN powder green compacts gave a hardness of 22.0 ± 0.6 GPa after heat treatment. 相似文献

To investigate the functional role of the cysteine residues present in the spinach ferredoxin-NADP+ oxidoreductase, we individually replaced each of the five cysteine residues with serine using site-directed mutagenesis. All of the mutant reductases were correctly assembled in Escherichia coli except for the C42S mutant protein. C114S and C137S mutant enzymes apparently showed structural and kinetic properties very similar to those of the wild-type reductase. However, C272S and C132S mutations yielded enzymes with a decreased catalytic activity in the ferredoxin-dependent reaction (14 and 31% of the wild type, respectively). Whereas the C132S was fully competent in the diaphorase reaction, the C272S mutant flavoprotein showed a 35-fold reduction in catalytic efficiency with respect to the wild-type enzyme (0.4 versus 14.28 microM-1 s-1) due to a substantial decrease of kcat. NADP+ binding by the C272S mutant enzyme was apparently quantitatively the same (Kd = 37 microM) but qualitatively different, as shown by the differential spectrum. Stopped-flow experiments showed that the enzyme-FAD reduction rate was considerably decreased in the C272S mutant reductase, along with a much lower yield of the charge-transfer transient species. It is inferred from these data that the charge transfer (FAD-NADPH) between the reductase and NADPH is required for hydride transfer from the pyridine nucleotide to flavin to occur with a rate compatible with catalysis. 相似文献

Inactivation of phage T5 by lysed cells after phage multiplication is prevented by a phage-encoded lipoprotein (Llp) that inactivates the FhuA outer membrane receptor protein (K. Decker, V. Krauel, A. Meesmann, and K. Heller, Mol. Microbiol. 12:321-332, 1994). Using FhuA derivatives carrying insertions of 4 and 16 amino acid residues and point mutations, we determined whether FhuA inactivation is caused by binding of Llp to FhuA and which regions of FhuA are important for inactivation by Llp. Cells expressing Llp were resistant not only to phage T5 but to all FhuA ligands tested, such as phage phi 80, colicin M, and albomycin, and they were strongly reduced in the uptake of ferrichrome. Most of the FhuA derivatives which were not affected by Llp were, according to a previously published FhuA transmembrane topology model, located in periplasmic turns and in the TonB box close to the periplasm. Since the ligands bind to the cell surface, interaction of FhuA with Llp in the periplasm may induce a FhuA conformation which impairs binding of the ligands. This conclusion was supported by the increase rather than decrease of colicin M sensitivity of two mutants in the presence of Llp. The only Llp-resistant FhuA derivatives with mutations at the cell surface contained insertions of 16 residues in the loop that determines the permeability of the FhuA channel and serves as the principal binding site for all FhuA ligands. This region may be inactivated by steric hindrance in that a portion of Llp penetrates into the channel. Outer membranes prepared with 0.25% Triton X-100 from cells expressing Llp contained inactivated FhuA, suggesting Llp to be an outer membrane protein whose interaction with FhuA was not abolished by Triton X-100. In the present work, multi-cation-doped (Sr2+ –Mg2+ ) SiAlON ceramics were investigated. MgO and SrO were used in 100:0 and 50:50 molar ratios. The mixture was sintered at 1800° and 1830°C for 1 h in a gas pressure-sintering furnace. The results showed that sintered samples were composed of mainly α- and β-SiAlON phases and small amounts of some Sr-containing phases and SiAlON polytypes. According to Rietveld analysis of X-ray diffraction patterns, Mg is incorporated into the α-SiAlON structure. However, the incorporation of Sr is limited. 相似文献
