Three kinds of isotactic polypropylenes with different MFI were melt-blended with three kinds of high-density polyethylenes with different MFI using a screw extruder and the dynamic viscoelastic properties were studied. The storage moduli G′(ω) of the blends showed second plateaus and the dynamic viscosities η′(ω) of the blends showed two-step drops with increasing angular frequency ω. Such phenomenon was particularly notable for blend systems in which particles of lower viscosity were suspended in the disperse medium of higher viscosity and is considered to be the cause of abnormally large die swell.  相似文献

To study a radical scavenging reaction of α-tocopherol, it was reacted with methyl radical in dimethyl sulfoxide. Two main products, a geminal dimethyl cyclohexadienone and methyl ether of α-tocopherol, were obtained and these structures were determined by13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The radical methylation data of α-tocopherol suggested that a delocalized radical species would be an intermediate. TMIG-RI No. 3.  相似文献

This study was undertaken to estimate the effect of dietary high oleic acid oil (OA) on 4-(methylnitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone (NNK)-induced lung tumorigenesis in mice. Diet containing 10% oil was fed to mice through experimental periods. On day 30 after NNK injection (100 mg/kg body weight, i.p.), the treatment increased the level of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) as well as proliferating cell nuclear antigen, a marker of cell proliferation in a high linoleic acid oil (LA)-fed group but not in an OA-fed group. The NNK treatment also induced the activation of an extracellular signal-regulated kinase (Erk) cascade (Erk, Mek and Raf-1) in an LA-fed group. On the other hand, OA feeding abolished the NNK-induced activation of the Erk cascade. In conjugation with these events, OA feeding reduced lung tumor incidence and tumor multiplicity (percentage of mice with tumors) in mice compared with LA feeding at the 20th experimental week. These results suggest that OA suppresses lung tumorigenesis and that this suppression is correlated with the inhibition of PGE2 production and inactivation of the Erk cascade.  相似文献

The effect of degree of polymerization (DP) on the gelation and flow processability of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) was studied. Sheets with adjusted degree of gelation were prepared by rolling rigid pipe formulation suspension PVC compounds with DPs of 800, 1050 and 1300 by changing the milling temperature. Their degrees of gelation were measured with DSC and their capillary flow properties were measured with a capillary rheometer at 150, 170 and 190°C and the effect of DP on the relation between gelation and flow processabilities was studied. Because of the higher shearing heat during milling, the sample with the higher DP had a higher history temperature and thus tended to show a higher degree of gelation. The viscosity increased as the gelation increased. The dependency of viscosity on DP was higher at higher milling and extrusion temperatures and thus at a higher degree of gelation and a lower shear rate. This was assumed to be attributed to the more prominent uniform molecular flow as against the particle flow. The die swell increased with increasing the milling and extrusion temperatures and hence with increasing the gelation. A sample with a lower DP tended to show a larger die swell and this tendency was even more pronounced at the higher extrusion temperature. The melt fracture easily occurred when a sample with advanced gelation was extruded at low temperature. Whereas at low milling temperatures a sample with the lower DP showed a lower critical shear rate at onset of melt fracture, and thus easily generating melt fracture, at high milling temperatures it showed a higher critical shear rate and hence scarcely generated melt fracture. These experimental results were explained by the fact and concept that a sample with a lower DP shows a higher increase in the gelation during extrusion and/or the slighter feature of particle flow as against the uniform molecular flow at the same gelation level. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) microstructures’ processing characteristics using X-ray photo dcomposition and desorption are studied in the highest energy region (2 keV to >12 keV). While the exposed surface states are seen melting and boiling from the remaining bubble structure of the irradiated surface, basic photochemistry of PTFE is also same as previous reports and high-aspect ratio structures are successfully formed. We developed new Ni stencil electroformed stencil masks and successfully fabricated first and practical example of PTFE micro fluidic parts. The characteristics of fabricated micro fluidic parts, a PTFE fluid filter for vertical fluid flow operation which works as passive valve, agreed with the calculated results. This suggests that the accuracy of patterning is adequate to apply this technique to fabricate microfluidic parts and other various microparts.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a face identification system based on the Mahalanobis–Taguchi System (MTS). The MTS is one of the pattern recognition methods frequently used in quality engineering, and can perform robust pattern recognition by using training data, including noise. It is likely that this advantage will allow the effective implementation of a robust face identification system against lighting and face position fluctuations. Moreover, the MTS can optimize the number of attributes required for identification by using the orthogonal array and the signal/noise (SN) ratio. The face identification system has to deal with many users and the amount of data in a facial image is large. Therefore, the time required for identification can be decreased and the amount of data in the facial image database can be reduced by performing the optimization. We confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed system through practical experiments. The experimental results revealed that the MTS was an effective method for robust face identification, and could effectively reduce the number of attributes required for identification.  相似文献

Spectral response of multi‐junction solar cell is complicated because of the interplay between external measurement conditions such as bias light intensity, monochromatic light intensity, bias voltage, and intrinsic electrical properties of series interconnected subcells. In this paper, we report an experimental study on the bias voltage‐dependent spectral response (SR) for multi‐junction solar cell. A self‐consistent iteration loop was developed from a nonlinear least square Powell hybrid algorithm that was used for curve fitting the experimental SR versus bias voltage data of each subcell. We demonstrated for the first time that this approach enabled us to derive the electrical parameters such as dark saturation currents (J0), shunt resistance (Rsh), series resistance (Rs), and spectra response (Jphoto) for each subcell of a Ga0.99In0.01As/Ge dual junction solar cell with stable convergence. The accuracies of the fitting results were confirmed by the agreement between the J–V curves calculated on the basis of these parameters and the experimental J–V curve of multi‐junction solar cell measured under AM1.5 and 1 sun condition. Three beta-glucosidase- and two endoglucanase-encoding genes were cloned from Aspergillus oryzae, and their gene products were displayed on the cell surface of the sake yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae GRI-117-UK. GRI-117-UK/pUDB7 displaying beta-glucosidase AO090009000356 showed the highest activity against various substrates and efficiently produced ethanol from cellobiose. On the other hand, GRI-117-UK/pUDCB displaying endoglucanase AO090010000314 efficiently degraded barley beta-glucan to glucose and smaller cellooligosaccharides. GRI-117-UK/pUDB7CB codisplaying both beta-glucosidase AO090009000356 and endoglucanase AO090010000314 was constructed. When direct ethanol fermentation from 20 g/l barley beta-glucan as a model substrate was performed with the codisplaying strain, the ethanol concentration reached 7.94 g/l after 24 h of fermentation. The conversion ratio of ethanol from beta-glucan was 69.6% of the theoretical ethanol concentration produced from 20 g/l barley beta-glucan. These results showed that sake yeast displaying A. oryzae cellulolytic enzymes can be used to produce ethanol from cellulosic materials. Our constructs have higher ethanol production potential than the laboratory constructs previously reported.  相似文献

The development of a compact high-density microbial reactor for hydrogen production is described with possible implications to use as a portable bio-fuel cell system. To construct the compact bioreactor, mainly, the cell density and immobilization methods were optimized in this paper. The encapsulation of hydrogen producing bacterium, Escherichia coli strain MC13-4, in alginate gel beads provided approximately three-fold increase in hydrogen production in comparison with the free cell suspension. The immobilized cells (cell density; O.D. 100) and 500 mM glucose solution were packed into a 20 mL glass bottle that was connected to the fuel cell. This system has generated electricity of over 20 mW for 20 min.  相似文献
