Significant efforts have been made to develop high‐efficiency organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) employing thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitters with blue, green, yellow, and orange–red colors. However, efficient TADF materials with colors ranging from red, to deep‐red, to near‐infrared (NIR) have been rarely reported owing to the difficulty in molecular design. Herein, we report the first NIR TADF molecule TPA‐DCPP (TPA=triphenylamine; DCPP=2,3‐dicyanopyrazino phenanthrene) which has a small singlet–triplet splitting (ΔEST) of 0.13 eV. Its nondoped OLED device exhibits a maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 2.1 % with a Commission International de L′Éclairage (CIE) coordinate of (0.70, 0.29). Moreover, an extremely high EQE of nearly 10 % with an emission band at λ=668 nm has been achieved in the doped device, which is comparable to the most‐efficient deep‐red/NIR phosphorescent OLEDs with similar electroluminescent spectra.  相似文献

Developing red thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitters, attainable for both high‐efficient red organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) and non‐doped deep red/near‐infrared (NIR) OLEDs, is challenging. Now, two red emitters, BPPZ‐PXZ and mDPBPZ‐PXZ, with twisted donor–acceptor structures were designed and synthesized to study molecular design strategies of high‐efficiency red TADF emitters. BPPZ‐PXZ employs the strictest molecular restrictions to suppress energy loss and realizes red emission with a photoluminescence quantum yield (ΦPL) of 100±0.8 % and external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 25.2 % in a doped OLED. Its non‐doped OLED has an EQE of 2.5 % owing to unavoidable intermolecular π–π interactions. mDPBPZ‐PXZ releases two pyridine substituents from its fused acceptor moiety. Although mDPBPZ‐PXZ realizes a lower EQE of 21.7 % in the doped OLED, its non‐doped device shows a superior EQE of 5.2 % with a deep red/NIR emission at peak of 680 nm.  相似文献

We report fast, high‐yield syntheses of a series of [Pt(CN)(HCN)X] complexes, where HCN is 2‐phenylpyridine (Hppy) or 2‐p‐tolylpyridine (Htopy) and X? is Cl?, Br?, I?, ONO2?, NO2? or SCN?. The structure of [Pt(topy)(Htopy)(ONO2)] was analyzed by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. Substitution of Cl? with Br? or I? in our complexes shifted the 195Pt NMR peaks upfield in the order Cl? < Br? < I?, but the magnitudes of their shifts were one‐tenth those observed for non‐cyclometalated platinum(II) complexes. As the two nitrato complexes showed strong emissions in acetonitrile solution—three to six times those of other complexes—they were used to fabricate OLEDs. Although their emissions were not particularly strong, devices fabricated with platinum(II) complexes containing bulky ligands emitted green light with a short lifetime (τ). It is challenging to realize the near‐infrared (NIR) emission with large brightness and sharp spectra from the conjugated polymers. In this study, we demonstrate the strategy for receiving strong and pure NIR emission from polymeric materials using organoboron complexes and the modification after polymerization. A series of NIR emissive conjugated polymers with boron di(iso)indomethenes (BODINs) and fluorene or bithiophene were synthesized by Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reaction. The obtained polymers exhibited high emissions in the range from deep‐red to NIR region (quantum yields: ?PL = 0.40–0.79, full width at half maximum height: Δλ1/2 = 660–940 cm?1, emission maxima: λPL = 686–714 nm). Next, the demethylation of the BODIN‐based polymer with o‐methoxyphenyl groups was carried out. The transformation of the polymer structure quantitatively proceeded via efficient intramolecular crosslinking through the intermediary of the boron atom. Finally, the resulting polymer showed both drastically larger red‐shifted and sharper photoluminescence spectrum than that of the parent polymer with deep‐red emission (?PL = 0.37, Δλ1/2 = 460 cm?1, λPL = 758 nm). © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Due to the high decay rate of the non-radiative transition of long wavelengths, the molecular design of efficient and stable near-infrared (NIR) electroluminescent materials remains a big challenge. Herein, a new tetradentate cyclometalated platinum(II) complex with an NCCN coordinated framework has been developed and used as a dopant for NIR organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). The complex exhibited a short-lived (0.5–1.5 µs) metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) excited state in doped and neat films. The resulting NIR OLEDs (λEL = 730 nm) achieved maximum external quantum efficiency (EQEmax) of 5.2% and radiance of 74626 mW sr?1 m–2. Of note, the device exhibited excellent stability with operational lifetime of 119 h for LT90. This work demonstrated the great potential of tetradentate platinum(II) complexes in the field of NIR OLEDs.  相似文献

Despite the success of thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) materials in steering the next generation of organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs), effective near infrared (NIR) TADF emitters are still very rare. Here, we present a simple and extremely high electron‐deficient compound, 5,6‐dicyano[2,1,3]benzothiadiazole (CNBz), as a strong electron‐accepting unit to develop a sufficiently strong donor‐acceptor (D?A) interaction for NIR emission. End‐capping with the electron‐donating triphenylamine (TPA) unit created an effective D?A?D type system, giving rise to an efficient NIR TADF emissive molecule (λem=750 nm) with a very small ΔEST of 0.06 eV. The electroluminescent device using this NIR TADF emitter exhibited an excellent performance with a high maximum radiance of 10020 mW Sr?1 m?2, a maximum EQE of 6.57% and a peak wavelength of 712 nm.  相似文献

Organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) have been greatly developed in recent years owing to their abundant advantages for full‐color displays and general‐purpose lightings. Blue emitters not only provide one of the primary colors of the RGB (red, green and blue) display system to reduce the power consumption of OLEDs, but are able able to generate light of all colors, including blue, green, red, and white by energy transfer processes in devices. However, it remains a challenge to achieve high‐performance blue electroluminescence, especially for nondoped devices. In this paper, we report a blue light emitting molecule, DPAC‐AnPCN, which consists of 9,9‐diphenyl‐9,10‐dihydroacridine and p‐benzonitrile substituted anthracene moieties. The asymmetrically decoration on anthracene with different groups on its 9 and 10 positions combines the merits of the respective constructing units and endows DPAC‐AnPCN with pure blue emission, high solid‐state efficiency, good thermal stability and appropriate HOMO and LUMO energy levels. Furthermore, DPAC‐AnPCN can be applied in a nondoped device to effectively reduce the fabrication complexity and cost. The nondoped device exhibits pure blue electroluminescence (EL) locating at 464 nm with CIE coordinates of (0.15, 0.15). Moreover, it maintains high efficiency at relatively high luminescence. The maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) reaches 6.04 % and still remains 5.31 % at the luminance of 1000 cd m?2 showing a very small efficiency roll‐off.  相似文献

Donor–acceptor (D–A) molecular architecture has been shown to be an effective strategy for obtaining high‐performance electroluminescent materials. In this work, two D–A molecules, Ph‐BPA‐BPI and Py‐BPA‐BPI, have been synthesized by attaching highly fluorescent phenanthrene or pyrene groups to the C6‐ and C9‐positions of a locally excited‐state emitting phenylamine–phenanthroimidazole moiety. Equipped with good physical and hybridized local and charge‐transfer properties, both molecules show high performances as blue emitters in nondoped organic light‐emitting devices (OLEDs). An OLED using Ph‐BPA‐BPI as the emitting layer exhibits deep‐blue emission with CIE coordinates of (0.15, 0.08), and a maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE), current efficiency (CE), and power efficiency (PE) of 4.56 %, 3.60 cd A?1, and 3.66 lm W?1, respectively. On the other hand, a Py‐BPA‐BPI‐based, sky‐blue OLED delivers the best results among nondoped OLEDs with CIEy values of < 0.3 reported so far, for which a very low turn‐on voltage of 2.15 V, CIE coordinates of (0.17, 0.29), and maximum CE, PE, and EQE values of 10.9 cd A?1, 10.5 lm W?1, and 5.64 %, were achieved, respectively. More importantly, both devices show little or even no efficiency roll‐off and high singlet exciton‐utilizing efficiencies of 36.2 % for Ph‐BPA‐BPI and 39.2 % for Py‐BPA‐BPI.  相似文献

The syntheses, crystal structures, and detailed investigations of the photophysical properties of phosphorescent platinum(II) Schiff base complexes are presented. All of these complexes exhibit intense absorption bands with λmax in the range 417–546 nm, which are assigned to states of metal‐to‐ligand charge‐transfer (1MLCT) 1[Pt(5d)→π*(Schiff base)] character mixed with 1[lone pair(phenoxide)→π*(imine)] charge‐transfer character. The platinum(II) Schiff base complexes are thermally stable, with decomposition temperatures up to 495 °C, and show emission λmax at 541–649 nm in acetonitrile, with emission quantum yields up to 0.27. Measurements of the emission decay times in the temperature range from 130 to 1.5 K give total zero‐field splitting parameters of the emitting triplet state of 14–28 cm?1. High‐performance yellow to red organic light‐emitting devices (OLEDs) using these platinum(II) Schiff base complexes have been fabricated with the best efficiency up to 31 cd A?1 and a device lifetime up to 77 000 h at 500 cd m?2.  相似文献

Two novel bipolar deep-blue fluorescent emitters, IP-PPI and IP-DPPI, featuring different lengths of the phenyl bridge, were designed and synthesized, in which imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine (IP) and phenanthroimidazole (PI) were proposed as an electron acceptor and an electron donor, respectively. Both of them exhibit outstanding thermal stability and high emission quantum yields. All the devices based on these two materials showed negligible efficiency roll-off with increasing current density. Impressively, non-doped organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on IP-PPI and IP-DPPI exhibited external quantum efficiencies (EQEs) of 4.85 % and 4.74 % with CIE coordinates of (0.153, 0.097) and (0.154, 0.114) at 10000 cd m−2, respectively. In addition, the 40 wt % IP-PPI doped device maintained a high EQE of 5.23 % with CIE coordinates of (0.154, 0.077) at 10000 cd m−2. The doped device based on 20 wt % IP-DPPI exhibited a higher deep-blue electroluminescence (EL) performance with a maximum EQE of up to 6.13 % at CIE of (0.153, 0.078) and maintained an EQE of 5.07 % at 10000 cd m−2. To the best of our knowledge, these performances are among the state-of-the art devices with CIEy≤0.08 at a high brightness of 10000 cd m−2. Furthermore, by doping a red phosphorescent dye Ir(MDQ)2 (MDQ=2-methyldibenzo[f,h]quinoxaline) into the IP-PPI and IP-DPPI hosts, high-performance red phosphorescent OLEDs with EQEs of 20.8 % and 19.1 % were achieved, respectively. This work may provide a new approach for designing highly efficient deep-blue emitters with negligible roll-off for OLED applications.  相似文献

Structurally robust tetradentate gold(III)‐emitters have potent material applications but are rare and unprecedented for those displaying thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF). Herein, a novel synthetic route leading to the preparation of highly emissive, charge‐neutral tetradentate [C^C^N^C] gold(III) complexes with 5‐5‐6‐membered chelate rings has been developed through microwave‐assisted C?H bond activation. These complexes show high thermal stability and with emission origin (3IL, 3ILCT, and TADF) tuned by varying the substituents of the C^C^N^C ligand. With phenoxazine/diphenylamine substituent, we prepared the first tetradentate gold(III) complexes that are TADF emitters with emission quantum yields of up to 94 % and emission lifetimes of down to 0.62 μs in deoxygenated toluene. These tetradentate AuIII TADF emitters showed good performance in vacuum‐deposited OLEDs with maximum EQEs of up to 25 % and LT95 of up to 5280 h at 100 cd m?2.  相似文献

Quinoxaline (Q), pyrido[2,3-b]pyrazine (PP) and pyrido[3,4-b]pyrazine (iPP) are used as electron acceptors (A) to design a series of D–π–A-type light-emitting materials with different donor (D) groups. By adjusting the molecular torsion angles through changing D from carbazole (Cz) to 10-dimethylacridine (DMAC) or 10H-phenoxazine (PXZ) for a fixed A, the luminescence is tuned from normal fluorescence to thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF). By gradually enhancing the intramolecular charge-transfer extent through combining different D and A, the emission color is continuously and regularly tuned from pure blue to orange–red. Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) containing these compounds as doped emitters exhibit bright electroluminescence with emission colors covering the entire visible-light range. An external quantum efficiency (ηext) of 1.2 % with excellent color coordinates of (0.16, 0.07) is obtained for the pure-blue OLED of Q-Cz. High ηext values of 12.9 (35.9) to 16.7 % (51.9 cd A−1) are realized in the green, yellow, and orange–red TADF OLEDs. All PP- and iPP-based TADF emitters exhibit superior efficiency stabilities to that of analogues of Q. This provides a practical strategy to tune the emission color of Q, PP, and iPP derivatives with the same molecular skeletons over the entire visible-light range.  相似文献

In this paper, we describe a bipolar molecular design for small molecule solution‐processed organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). Combining the rigidity of the conjugated emissive cores and the flexibility of the peripheral alkyl‐linked carbazole groups, two series of highly efficient bipolar RGB (red, green, blue) emitters have been synthesized and characterized. The emissive cores are composed of electron‐withdrawing groups; the carbazole groups endow the materials electron‐donating units. Such bipolar structures are advantageous for the carrier injection and balance. Four peripheral carbazole groups are introduced in T‐series materials (TCDqC, TCSoC, TCBzC, TCNzC), and another four in O‐series materials (OCDqC, OCSoC, OCBzC, OCNzC). With the single‐layer device configuration of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/emitting layer/CsF/Al, two green devices exhibited excellent performance with a maximum luminescence efficiency of over 6.4 cd A?1, and a high maximum luminance of more than 6700 cd m?2. In addition, compared with the T‐series, the luminescence efficiency of blue and red devices based on O‐series materials increased from 1.6 to 2.8 cd A?1 and 0.2 to 1.3 cd A?1, respectively. To our knowledge, the performance of the blue device based on OCSoC is among the best of the blue small‐molecule solution‐processed single‐layer devices reported so far.  相似文献

Narrowband organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) are receiving significant attention and have demonstrated impressive performance in blue and green OLEDs. However, developing high-performance narrowband red OLEDs remains a highly desired yet challenging task. Herein, we have developed narrowband red fluorescent emitters by utilizing a boron-dipyrromethene (BODIPY) skeleton in combination with a methyl-shield strategy. These emitters exhibit small full-width at half-maxima (FWHM) ranging from 21 nm (0.068 eV) to 25 nm (0.081 eV) and high photoluminescence quantum yields (ΦPL) ranging from 88.5 % to 99.0 % in toluene solution. Using BODIPY-based luminescent materials as emitters, high-performance narrowband red OLEDs have been assembled with external quantum efficiency as high as 18.3 % at 623 nm and 21.1 % at 604 nm. This work represents, to our knowledge, the first successful case of achieving NTSC pure-red OLEDs with the Commission Internationale de l’Éclairage (CIE) coordinates of [0.67, 0.33] based on conventional fluorescent emitters.  相似文献

The development of molecular frameworks derived from binuclear platinum(II) aromatic Schiff base (salphen) complexes and their supramolecular chemistry have been undertaken. A series of axially rotating (Pt‐salphen)2 luminophores, tethered in a cofacial manner by a rigid linker (xanthene, 1 ; dibenzofuran, 2 ; biphenylene, 3 ), was synthesized in which the O(salphen) groups are potentially amenable for guest‐binding. The molecular structures of 1 and 3 have been determined by X‐ray crystallography, revealing intra‐ and intermolecular π‐stacking interactions, as well as contrasting syn ( 1 ) and anti ( 3 ) configurations, for the (Pt‐salphen)2 moiety. All complexes are luminescent in solution at room temperature. Their photophysical and solvatochromic properties have been examined, and the emissions are assigned to mixed triplet O(p)/Pt(d)→π*(diimine) excited states. The red‐shifted fluid emissions and lower quantum yields of 1 and 3 , relative to 2 , are ascribed to enhanced intramolecular π‐stacking interactions. Photophysical changes and selective responses to metal ions (particularly Pb2+) have been investigated by using various spectroscopic methods and DFT calculations, and through comparative studies with control complexes. A plausible binding mechanism is proposed based on occupation of the O(salphen)‐binding cavity, which induces perturbation of intramolecular π–π interactions, and hence the self‐quenching and emission properties, of the (Pt‐salphen)2 unit.  相似文献

Herein, 9,10‐dihydro‐9,9‐dimethylacridine (Ac) or phenoxazine (PXZ)‐substituted isonicotinonitrile (INN) derivatives, denoted as 2AcINN , 26AcINN , and 26PXZINN , were developed as a series of thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitters. These emitters showed reasonably high photoluminescence quantum yields of 71–79 % in the host films and high power efficiency organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). Sky‐blue emitter 26AcINN exhibited a low turn‐on voltage of 2.9 V, a high external quantum efficiency (η ext) of 22 %, and a high power efficiency (η p) of 66 lm W−1 with Commission Internationale de l′Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity coordinates of (0.22, 0.45), whereas green emitter 26PXZINN exhibited a low turn‐on voltage of 2.2 V, a high η ext of 22 %, and a high η p of 99 lm W−1 with CIE chromaticity coordinates of (0.37, 0.58). These performances are among the best for TADF OLEDs to date.  相似文献

Solid-state near-infrared (NIR) light-emitting devices have recently received considerable attention as NIR light sources that can penetrate deep into human tissue and are suitable for bioimaging and labeling. In addition, solid-state NIR light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs) have shown several promising advantages over NIR organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs). However, among the reported NIR LECs based on ionic transition-metal complexes (iTMCs), there is currently no iridium-based LEC that displays NIR electroluminescence (EL) peaks near to or above 800 nm. In this report we demonstrate a simple method for adjusting the energy gap between the highest-occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and the lowest-unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) of iridium-based iTMCs to generate NIR emission. We describe a series of novel ionic iridium complexes with very small energy gaps, namely NIR1 – NIR6 , in which 2,3-diphenylbenzo[g]quinoxaline moieties mainly take charge of the HOMO energy levels and 2,2′-biquinoline, 2-(quinolin-2-yl)quinazoline, and 2,2′-bibenzo[d]thiazole moieties mainly control the LUMO energy levels. All the complexes exhibited NIR phosphorescence, with emission maxima up to 850 nm, and have been applied as components in LECs, showing a maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 0.05 % in the EL devices. By using a host–guest emissive system, with the iridium complex RED as the host and the complex NIR3 or NIR6 as guest, the highest EQE of the LECs can be further enhanced to above 0.1 %.  相似文献

A new class of sky‐blue‐ to green‐emitting carbazolylgold(III) C^C^N complexes containing pyrazole or benzimidazole moieties has been successfully designed and synthesized. Through the judicious choice of the N‐heterocycles in the cyclometalating ligand and the tailor‐made carbazole moieties, maximum photoluminescence quantum yields of 0.52 and 0.39 have been realized in the green‐ and sky‐blue‐emitting complexes, respectively. Solution‐processed and vacuum‐deposited organic light‐emitting devices (OLEDs) based on the benzimidazole‐containing complexes have been prepared. The sky‐blue‐emitting device shows an emission peaking at 484 nm with a narrow full‐width at half‐maximum of 57 nm (2244 cm?1), demonstrating the potential of this class of complexes in the application of OLEDs with high color purity. In addition, high maximum external quantum efficiencies of 12.3 % and a long operational half‐lifetime of over 5300 h at 100 cd m?2 have been achieved in the vacuum‐deposited green‐emitting devices.  相似文献

Three NIR‐emitting neutral IrIII complexes [Ir(iqbt)2(dpm)] ( 1 ), [Ir(iqbt)2(tta)] ( 2 ), and [Ir(iqbt)2(dtdk)] ( 3 ) based on the 1‐(benzo[b]thiophen‐2‐yl)‐isoquinolinate (iqtb) were synthesized and characterized (dpm=2,2,6,6‐tetramethyl‐3,5‐heptanedionate; tta=2‐thienoyltrifluoroacetonate; dtdk=1,3‐di(thiophen‐2‐yl)propane‐1,3‐dionate). The compounds emit between λ=680 and 850 nm with high luminescence quantum yields (up to 16 %). By combining electrochemistry, photophysical measurements, and computational modelling, the relationship between the structure, energy levels, and properties were investigated. NIR‐emitting, solution‐processed phosphorescent organic light‐emitting devices (PHOLEDs) were fabricated using the complexes. The devices show remarkable external quantum efficiencies (above 3 % with 1 ) with negligible efficiency roll‐off values, exceeding the highest reported values for solution‐processible NIR emitters.  相似文献

Deep-red to near-infrared (NIR) OLEDs, which yield emission peak wavelengths beyond λ=660 nm, are applicable as unique light sources in plant growth or health monitoring systems. Compared with other visible-spectrum OLEDs, however, research in the field of deep-red OLEDs is not as advanced. In this work, three new types of dibenzofuran-based host materials are developed as n-type exciplex host partners. Combining these with the deep-red iridium complex bis(2,3-diphenylquinoxaline)iridium(dipivaloylmethane) ([(DPQ)2Ir(dpm)]) and N,N′-di(naphalene-1-yl)-N,N′-diphenylbenzidine (α-NPD) as a p-type exciplex host partner, a highly efficient deep-red OLED can be realized with a maximum external quantum efficiency (ηext, max) of over 16 % with Comission Internationale de l′Éclairge (CIE) coordinates of (0.71, 0.28). In addition, the effect of the doping concentration and the p/n ratio of the exciplex host on the efficiency and the lifetime of the OLEDs are investigated. Consequently, the optimized device exhibits a ηext, max of over 15 % and a six-time longer lifetime operating at high brightness of 100 cd m−2 compared with other state-of-the-art deep-red OLEDs.  相似文献
