Summary  An exact, three-dimensional analysis is developed for a penny-shaped crack in an infinite transversely isotropic piezoelectric medium. The crack is assumed to be parallel to the plane of isotropy, with its faces subjected to a couple of concentrated normal forces and a couple of point electric charges that are antisymmetric with respect to the crack plane. The fundamental solution of a concentrated force and a point charge acting on the surface of a piezoelectric half-space is employed to derive the integral equations for the general boundary value problem. For the above antisymmetric crack problem, complete expressions for the elastoelectric field are obtained. A numerical calculation is finally performed to show the piezoelectric effect in piezoelectric materials. It is noted here that the present analysis is an extension of Fabrikant's theory for elasticity. Received 30 August 1999; accepted for publication 1 March 2000  相似文献

In this paper, the concept of covering domain is introduced to develop a general expression for the Fredholm Integral Equations Method, by which elasticity problems of arbitrarily shaped bodies loaded by external forces can be solved. Some special expressions are given for a body with non-zero remote stresses, or subjected to some concentrated forces on its boundary. The relationship between the loading forces and solutions are also discussed. Some analytical solutions can be obtained for simple cases. When numerical computations are needed for the solution, the method proves to have high precision and fast convergency.  相似文献

We use Signorini's expansion to analyse deformations of a straight, prismatic, isotropic, stress free, homogeneous body made of a second-order elastic material and loaded as follows. It is first twisted by an infinitesimal amount and then loaded by applying surface tractions, with nonzero resultant forces and/or moments, only at its end faces. The centroid of one end face is taken to be rigidly clamped. By using a semi-inverse method, the problem is reduced to that of solving two plane elliptic problems involving six arbitrary constants that characterize flexure, bending, extension, and torsion superimposed upon the infinitesimal twist. It is shown that the Clebsch hypothesis is not valid for this problem. A second-order Poisson's effect, not of the Saint-Venant type, and generalized Poynting effects may also occur in these problems. 提出一种分析各类双材料中任一点受集中力作用问题的方法.通过将结合界面或其自由表面看作镜面,将应力函数或位移函数设定成固定于受载点及其镜像点上的局部坐标系下的形式,利用界面连续条件和Dirichlet的单值性原理,所有应力函数或位移函数就可由无限体中集中力的解或半无限体表面集中力的解的应力函数求得.这种方法不仅可适用于单一界面的情况,也可使用于多个界面并存的情况,并且也可适用于具有自由表面的结合材料.这一方法可应用于各类结合材料、涂层薄膜材料、板材等.  相似文献

The electroelastic problem for a transversely isotropic prolate ceramic spheroid is solved explicitly. The spheroid surface is free from external forces. The case is considered where the piezoceramic body is subjected to a given potential difference between electrodes partially covering the surface at the vertices. The normal component of electric-flux density is equal to zero on the noneletroded portion of the surface. We obtain a general solution to the field equations of plane micropolar elasticity for materials characterized by a hexagonal or equilateral triangular structure. These materials exhibit 3-fold symmetry in the plane and the elastic response is isotropic. Utilizing two displacement potential functions, the solution is obtained in terms of two analytic functions and a third function satisfying the modified homogeneous Helmholtz equation. Expressions for the two-dimensional components of displacement, stress, and couple stress, along with the resultant force on a contour, are presented. We observe that micropolar effects are most significant in material regions subjected to large deformation gradients. Specific results are presented for the classical crack problem, the half plane loaded uniformly on the surface, Flamant's problem, and the circular cylinder compressed by equal and opposite concentrated forces.  相似文献

Summary This paper deals with the stress concentration problem of an ellipsoidal inclusion of revolution in a semi-infinite body under biaxial tension. The problem is formulated as a system of singular integral equations with Cauchy-type or logarithmic-type singularities, where unknowns are densities of body forces distributed in the r- and z-directions in semi-infinite bodies having the same elastic constants as the ones of the matrix and inclusion. In order to satisfy the boundary conditions along the ellipsoidal boundary, four fundamental density functions proposed in [24, 25] are used. The body-force densities are approximated by a linear combination of fundamental density functions and polynomials. The present method is found to yield rapidly converging numerical results for stress distribution along the boundaries even when the inclusion is very close to the free boundary. The effect of the free surface on the stress concentration factor is discussed with varying the distance from the surface, the shape ratio and the elastic modulus ratio. The present results are compared with the ones of an ellipsoidal cavity in a semi-infinite body.accepted for publication 11 November 2003  相似文献

Summary The paper presents an exact and complete solution of the problem of a semi-infinite plane crack in an infinite transversely isotropic piezoelectric body. The upper and lower crack faces are assumed to be loaded symmetrically by a couple of normal point forces in opposite directions and a couple of point charges. The solution is derived through a limiting procedure from the one of a penny-shaped crack. The expressions for the elastoelectric field are given in terms of elementary functions. Small amplitude inhomogeneous plane waves are studied as they propagate on the free surface of a predeformed semi-infinite body made of Bell constrained material. The predeformation corresponds to a finite static pure homogeneous strain. The surface wave propagates in a principal direction of strain and is attenuated in another principal direction, orthogonal to the free surface. For these waves, the secular equation giving the speed of propagation is established by the method of first integrals. This equation is not the same as the secular equation for incompressible half-spaces, even though the Bell constraint and the incompressibility constraint coincide in the isotropic infinitesimal limit.  相似文献

In this paper we obtain necessary conditions for the existence of pairwise deformations of an incompressible, isotropic elastic body subjected to a homogeneous distribution of dead-load tractions. Explicit restrictions on the boundary loads and on the surface of discontinuity between the phases are determined. For hyperelastic bodies with stored energy depending only on the first invariant of strain, we show that pairwise deformations under examination are necessarily (within a rigid rotation) plane deformations.  相似文献

By using Stroh's formalism, simple explicit compact expressions of Green's functions for a piezoelectric semi-infinite body, with a fixed conductor surface electrode, subject to a singularity (i.e., a generalized line dislocation and a generalized line force at a point z°) are presented. Coulomb forces acted on the free line charge at z° due to the boundary polarization charges of the medium and the induction charges of the conductor together with the electromechanical coupling effects inside the region are analyzed in detail. The obtained results are valid not only for plane and antiplane problems but also for the coupled problems between inplane and outplane deformations.  相似文献

Summary In this paper the complex variable method of Muskhelishvili is applied to problems of bending for small deflections of thin, isotropic, homogeneous plates by concentrated edge couples and forces. The functional equation involved in Muskhelishvili's method is solved by using function theory. The necessary conformal mapping function is found from the Schwarz-Christoffel formula or expansion of elliptic functions. A general solution is given for plates which can be mapped on a unit circle by polynomial type mapping functions. Three particular problems are worked out in detail; namely those of approximately square plates subjected, respectively, to two bending couples, to two twisting couples, both applied at the ends of a diagonal, and to four forces applied at the four corners. Numerical results are presented in the form of tables and graphs.  相似文献

An elastic plane body, shaped like a circular ring or a disk, is subjected to radial surface forces varying according to a sinusoidal law. The existence of a tensile region included in a purely compressive one is proven and its asymptotic behaviour studied when the surface forces converge to two concentrated loads acting along the same diameter. The results show that any maximum principle for the principal stress components would require conditions stronger than the simple negativity of both on the boundary of the domain.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the linear theory of porous Cosserat elastic solids. We study the equilibrium of a cylindrical bar which is subjected to resultant forces and resultant moments on the ends, to body loads and to surface tractions on the lateral surface. The Almansi problem, where the body loads and the surface loading on the lateral surface are polynomials in the axial coordinate, is considered. The bar is made of an inhomogeneous and isotropic material whose constitutive coefficients are independent of the axial coordinate. The problem is reduced to the study of two-dimensional problems. The results are used to study two practical applications concerning the deformation of a circular rod. It is shown that a uniform pressure on the lateral surface produces an extension, a uniform change of the porosity, and a plane deformation. The bending by terminal couples produces a non-uniform variation of the porosity and a microrotation of the material particles.  相似文献

One of the most fruitful and elegant approach (known as Kolosov–Muskhelishvili formulas) for plane isotropic elastic problems is to use two complex-valued holomorphic potentials. In this paper, the algebra of real quaternions is used in order to propose in three dimensions, an extension of the classical Muskhelishvili formulas. The starting point is the classical harmonic potential representation due to Papkovich and Neuber. Alike the classical complex formulation, two monogenic functions very similar to holomorphic functions in 2D and conserving many of interesting properties, are used in this contribution. The completeness of the potential formulation is demonstrated rigorously. Moreover, body forces, residual stress and thermal strain are taken into account as a left side term. The obtained monogenic representation is compact and a straightforward calculation shows that classical complex representation for plane problems is embedded in the presented extended formulas. Finally the classical uniqueness problem of the Papkovich–Neuber solutions is overcome for polynomial solutions by fixing explicitly linear dependencies.  相似文献

A tentative measure of the forces tending to cause crack growth—the apparent crack extension force—is defined within the framework of continuum mechanics. By an associated fracture criterion initiation of growth may be predicted as well as the direction of preferred growth. The theory is specialized to elastic, viscoelastic and elastic-plastic materials. Under specified conditions the apparent crack extension force may be expressed by surface integrals over the boundary of an arbitrary part of the body for quasi-static deformation and for steady-state propagation of the crack. For plane deformation and for infinitesimal deformation under plane stress conditions these surface integrals reduce to path independent line integrals which include the J integral by Rice[1] and the G integral by Sih[2] as special cases.  相似文献
