We consider a magnetic Schrödinger operator in a planar infinite strip with frequently and non-periodically alternating Dirichlet and Robin boundary conditions. Assuming that the homogenized boundary condition is the Dirichlet or the Robin one, we establish the uniform resolvent convergence in various operator norms and we prove the estimates for the rates of convergence. It is shown that these estimates can be improved by using special boundary correctors. In the case of periodic alternation, pure Laplacian, and the homogenized Robin boundary condition, we construct two-terms asymptotics for the first band functions, as well as the complete asymptotics expansion (up to an exponentially small term) for the bottom of the band spectrum.  相似文献

In this paper a numerical technique is proposed for solving the time fractional diffusion-wave equation. We obtain a time discrete scheme based on finite difference formula. Then, we prove that the time discrete scheme is unconditionally stable and convergent using the energy method and the convergence order of the time discrete scheme is \(\mathcal {O}(\tau ^{3-\alpha })\). Firstly, we change the main problem based on Dirichlet boundary condition to a new problem based on Robin boundary condition and then, we consider a semi-discrete scheme with Robin boundary condition and show when \(\beta \rightarrow +\infty \) solution of the main semi-discrete problem with Dirichlet boundary condition is convergent to the solution of the new semi-discrete problem with Robin boundary condition. We consider the new semi-discrete problem with Robin boundary condition and use the meshless Galerkin method to approximate the spatial derivatives. Finally, we obtain an error bound for the new problem. We prove that convergence order of the numerical scheme based on Galekin meshless is \(\mathcal {O}(h)\). In the considered method the appeared integrals are approximated using Gauss Legendre quadrature formula. The main aim of the current paper is to obtain an error estimate for the meshless Galerkin method based on the radial basis functions. Numerical examples confirm the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed scheme.  相似文献

We study a free boundary problem arising from the theory of thermal insulation. The outstanding feature of this set optimization problem is that the boundary of the set being optimized is not a level surface of a harmonic function, but rather a hypersurface along which a harmonic function satisfies a Robin condition. We show that minimal sets exist, satisfy uniform density estimates, and, under some geometric conditions, have “locally flat” boundaries.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to investigate Green's function for parabolic and elliptic systems satisfying a possibly nonlocal Robin-type boundary condition. We construct Green's function for parabolic systems with time-dependent coefficients satisfying a possibly nonlocal Robin-type boundary condition assuming that weak solutions of the system are locally Hölder continuous in the interior of the domain, and as a corollary we construct Green's function for elliptic system with a Robin-type condition. Also, we obtain Gaussian bound for Robin Green's function under an additional assumption that weak solutions of Robin problem are locally bounded up to the boundary. We provide some examples satisfying such a local boundedness property, and thus have Gaussian bounds for their Green's functions.  相似文献

Evolution families are the non-autonomous counterpart of operator semigroups in the well-posedness theory of non-autonomous evolution equations. This note is devoted to fundamental operator theoretical properties, beginning with norm continuity—which we regard as a fingerprint of analyticity. While no known analogue of analytic semigroups is known in the non-autonomous case, we give a sufficient condition for norm-continuity of evolution families. Furthermore, we develop a theory of compact and trace class evolution families. The abstract results are applied to the Laplace operator with time dependent Robin boundary conditions.  相似文献

We propose a reduced multiscale finite element method for a convection-diffusion problem with a Robin boundary condition. The small perturbed parameter would cause boundary layer oscillations, so we apply several adapted grids to recover this defect. For a Robin boundary relating to derivatives, special interpolating strategies are presented for effective approximation in the FEM and MsFEM schemes, respectively. In the multiscale computation, the multiscale basis functions can capture the local boundary layer oscillation, and with the help of the reduced mapping matrix we may acquire better accuracy and stability with a less computational cost. Numerical experiments are provided to show the convergence and efficiency.  相似文献

本文研究了Robin边界条件下$p(x)$-Laplacian方程特征值问题. 利用变指数Sobolev空间理论, 我们用Luxemburg范数来定义Rayleigh商, 并给出该Rayleigh商的最小值点对应的Euler-Lagrange方程. 根据Ljusternik-Schnirelman原理, 我们证明了Robin边值问题存在无穷多特征值序列, 其中最小的特征值存在且是严格大于零的, 并且与最小的特征值相对应的特征函数不变号.  相似文献

We consider a mixed boundary-value problem for the homogeneous Laplace equation in a bounded domain which boundary splits up into two disjoint smooth components. On the one boundary component we pose a homogeneous Robin condition and an inhomogeneous Neumann condition on the other. We give a weak formulation, interpret this problem as a generalized spectral (eigenvalue) problem in the sense of F.Stummel (cf.[12]) and investigate existence, uniqueness and regularity of weak solutions. We establish a stability estimate for an inverse boundary coefficient problem in thermal imaging. The inverse problem under consideration consists in the determination of a boundary coefficient appearing in a boundary value problem for the heat equation with Robin boundary condition (we note here that the initial condition is assumed to be a priori unknown). Our stability estimate is of logarithmic type and it is essentially based on a logarithmic estimate for a Cauchy problem for the Laplace equation.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to numerical implementation of the wall functions of Robin-type for modeling near-wall turbulent flows. The wall functions are based on the transfer of a boundary condition from a wall to some intermediate boundary near the wall. The boundary conditions on the intermediate boundary are of Robin-type and represented in a differential form. The wall functions are formulated in an analytical easy-to-implement form, can take into account the source terms, and do not include free parameters. The relation between the wall functions of Robin type and the theory of Calderon–Ryaben'kii's potentials is demonstrated. A universal robust approach to the implementation of the Robin-type wall functions in finite-volume codes is provided. The example of an impinging jet is considered.  相似文献

We solve the following inverse problem for boundary value problems generated by the difference equations describing the motion of a Stieltjes string (a thread with beads). Given are certain parts of the spectra of two boundary value problems with two different Robin conditions at the left end and the same damping condition at the right end. From these two partial spectra, the difference of the Robin parameters, the damping constant, and the total length of the string, find the values of the point masses, and of the lengths of the intervals between them. We establish necessary and sufficient conditions for two sets of complex numbers to be the eigenvalues of two such boundary value problems and give a constructive solution of the inverse problem.  相似文献
