Porous carbon with high specific surface area (SSA), a reasonable pore size distribution, and modified surface chemistry is highly desirable for application in energy storage devices. Herein, we report the synthesis of nitrogen‐containing mesoporous carbon with high SSA (1390 m2 g?1), a suitable pore size distribution (1.5–8.1 nm), and a nitrogen content of 4.7 wt % through a facile one‐step self‐assembly process. Owing to its unique physical characteristics and nitrogen doping, this material demonstrates great promise for application in both supercapacitors and encapsulating sulfur as a superior cathode material for lithium–sulfur batteries. When deployed as a supercapacitor electrode, it exhibited a high specific capacitance of 238.4 F g?1 at 1 A g?1 and an excellent rate capability (180 F g?1, 10 A g?1). Furthermore, when an NMC/S electrode was evaluated as the cathode material for lithium–sulfur batteries, it showed a high initial discharge capacity of 1143.6 mA h g?1 at 837.5 mA g?1 and an extraordinary cycling stability with 70.3 % capacity retention after 100 cycles.  相似文献

The preparation of novel one‐dimensional core–shell Fe/Fe2O3 nanowires as anodes for high‐performance lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) is reported. The nanowires are prepared in a facile synthetic process in aqueous solution under ambient conditions with subsequent annealing treatment that could tune the capacity for lithium storage. When this hybrid is used as an anode material for LIBs, the outer Fe2O3 shell can act as an electrochemically active material to store and release lithium ions, whereas the highly conductive and inactive Fe core functions as nothing more than an efficient electrical conducting pathway and a remarkable buffer to tolerate volume changes of the electrode materials during the insertion and extraction of lithium ions. The core–shell Fe/Fe2O3 nanowire maintains an excellent reversible capacity of over 767 mA h g?1 at 500 mA g?1 after 200 cycles with a high average Coulombic efficiency of 98.6 %. Even at 2000 mA g?1, a stable capacity as high as 538 mA h g?1 could be obtained. The unique composition and nanostructure of this electrode material contribute to this enhanced electrochemical performance. Due to the ease of large‐scale fabrication and superior electrochemical performance, these hybrid nanowires are promising anode materials for the next generation of high‐performance LIBs.  相似文献

Herein we present a simple method for fabricating core–shell mesostructured CuO@C nanocomposites by utilizing humic acid (HA) as a biomass carbon source. The electrochemical performances of CuO@C nanocomposites were evaluated as an electrode material for supercapacitors and lithium‐ion batteries. CuO@C exhibits an excellent capacitance of 207.2 F g?1 at a current density of 1 A g?1 within a potential window of 0–0.46 V in 6 M KOH solution. Significantly, CuO electrode materials achieve remarkable capacitance retentions of approximately 205.8 F g?1 after 1000 cycles of charge/discharge testing. The CuO@C was further applied as an anode material for lithium‐ion batteries, and a high initial capacity of 1143.7 mA h g?1 was achieved at a current density of 0.1 C. This work provides a facile and general approach to synthesize carbon‐based materials for application in large‐scale energy‐storage systems.  相似文献

Lithium–sulfur (Li?S) batteries are attractive owing to their higher energy density and lower cost compared with the universally used lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs), but there are some problems that stop their practical use, such as low utilization and rapid capacity‐fading of the sulfur cathode, which is mainly caused by the shuttle effect, and the uncontrollable deposition of lithium sulfide species. Herein, we report the design and fabrication of dual‐confined sulfur nanoparticles that were encapsulated inside hollow TiO2 spheres; the encapsulated nanoparticles were prepared by a facile hydrolysis process combined with acid etching, followed by “wrapping” with graphene (G?TiO2@S). In this unique composite architecture, the hollow TiO2 spheres acted as effective sulfur carriers by confining the polysulfides and buffering volume changes during the charge‐discharge processes by means of physical force from the hollow spheres and chemical binding between TiO2 and the polysulfides. Moreover, the graphene‐wrapped skin provided an effective 3D conductive network to improve the electronic conductivity of the sulfur cathode and, at the same time, to further suppress the dissolution of the polysulfides. As results, the G?TiO2@S hybrids exhibited a high and stable discharge capacity of up to 853.4 mA h g?1 over 200 cycles at 0.5 C (1 C=1675 mA g?1) and an excellent rate capability of 675 mA h g?1 at a current rate of 2 C; thus, G?TiO2@S holds great promise as a cathode material for Li?S batteries.  相似文献

Flexible lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) have recently attracted increasing attention with the fast development of bendable electronic systems. Herein, a facile and template‐free solvothermal method is presented for the fabrication of hybrid yolk–shell CoS2 and nitrogen‐doped graphene (NG) sheets. The yolk–shell architecture of CoS2 encapsulated with NG coating is designed for the dual protection of CoS2 to address the structural and interfacial stability concerns facing the CoS2 anode. The as‐prepared composite can be assembled into a film, which can be used as a binder‐free and flexible electrode for LIBs that does not require any carbon black conducting additives or current collectors. When evaluating lithium‐storage properties, such a flexible electrode exhibits a high specific capacity of 992 mAh g?1 in the first reversible discharge capacity at a current rate of 100 mA g?1 and high reversible capacity of 882 mAh g?1 after 150 cycles with excellent capacity retention of 89.91 %. Furthermore, a reversible capacity as high as 655 mAh g?1 is still achieved after 50 cycles even at a high rate of 5 C due to the yolk–shell structure and NG coating, which not only provide short Li‐ion and electron pathways, but also accommodate large volume variation.  相似文献

Herein, we report a facile and “green” synthetic route for the preparation of Ge@C core–shell nanocomposites by using a low‐cost Ge precursor. Field‐emission scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy analyses confirmed the core–shell nanoarchitecture of the Ge@C nanocomposites, with particle sizes ranging from 60 to 100 nm. Individual Ge nanocrystals were coated by a continuous carbon layer, which had an average thickness of 2 nm. When applied as an anode materials for lithium‐ion batteries, the Ge@C nanocomposites exhibited a high initial discharge capacity of 1670 mAh g?1 and superior rate capability. In particular, Ge@C nanocomposite electrodes maintained a reversible capacity of 734 mAh g?1 after repeated cycling at a current density of 800 mA g?1 over 100 cycles.  相似文献

A hollow carbon nanofiber hybrid nanostructure anchored with titanium dioxide (HCNF@TiO2) was prepared as a matrix for effective trapping of sulfur and polysulfides as a cathode material for Li–S batteries. The synthesized composites were characterized and examined by X‐ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption–desorption measurements, field‐emission scanning electron microscopy, scanning transmission electron microscopy, and electrochemical methods such as galvanostatic charge/discharge, rate performance, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy tests. The obtained HCNF@TiO2–S composite showed a clear core–shell structure with TiO2 nanoparticles coating the surface of the HCNF and sulfur homogeneously distributed in the coating layer. The HCNF@TiO2–S composite exhibited much better electrochemical performance than the HCNF–S composite, which delivered an initial discharge capacity of 1040 mA h g?1 and maintained 650 mAh g?1 after 200 cycles at a 0.5 C rate. The improvements of electrochemical performances might be attributed to the unique hybrid nanostructure of HCNF@TiO2 and good dispersion of sulfur in the HCNF@TiO2–S composite.  相似文献

Despite the high theoretical capacity of lithium–sulfur batteries, their practical applications are severely hindered by a fast capacity decay, stemming from the dissolution and diffusion of lithium polysulfides in the electrolyte. A novel functional carbon composite (carbon‐nanotube‐interpenetrated mesoporous nitrogen‐doped carbon spheres, MNCS/CNT), which can strongly adsorb lithium polysulfides, is now reported to act as a sulfur host. The nitrogen functional groups of this composite enable the effective trapping of lithium polysulfides on electroactive sites within the cathode, leading to a much improved electrochemical performance (1200 mAh g?1 after 200 cycles). The enhancement in adsorption can be attributed to the chemical bonding of lithium ions by nitrogen functional groups in the MNCS/CNT framework. Furthermore, the micrometer‐sized spherical structure of the material yields a high areal capacity (ca. 6 mAh cm?2) with a high sulfur loading of approximately 5 mg cm?2, which is ideal for practical applications of the lithium–sulfur batteries.  相似文献

We have reported for the first time the preparation of yolk–shell‐structured Li4Ti5O12 powders for use as anode materials in lithium‐ion batteries. One Li4Ti5O12 yolk–shell‐particle powder is directly formed from each droplet containing lithium, titanium, and carbon components inside the hot wall reactor maintained at 900 °C. The precursor Li4Ti5O12 yolk–shell‐particle powders, which are directly prepared by spray pyrolysis, have initial discharge and charge capacities of 155 and 122 mA h g?1, respectively, at a current density of 175 mA g?1. Post‐treatment of the yolk–shell‐particle powders at temperatures of 700 and 800 °C improves the initial discharge and charge capacities. The initial discharge capacities of the Li4Ti5O12 powders with a yolk–shell structure and a dense structure post‐treated at 800 °C are 189 and 168 mA h g?1, respectively. After 100 cycles, the corresponding capacities are 172 and 152 mA h g?1, respectively (retentions of 91 and 90 %).  相似文献

Yolk–shell‐structured Zn–Fe–S multicomponent sulfide materials with a 1:2 Zn/Fe molar ratio were prepared applying a sulfidation process to ZnFe2O4 yolk–shell powders. The Zn–Fe–S powders had mixed sphalerite (Zn,Fe)S and hexagonal FeS crystal structures. The discharge capacities of the Zn–Fe–S powders sulfidated at 350 °C at a constant current density of 500 mA g?1 for the first, second, and fiftieth cycles were 1098, 912, and 913 mA h g?1, respectively. The powders exhibited a high discharge capacity of 602 mA h g?1 even at the high current density of 10 A g?1. The synergistic effect of yolk–shell structure and multicomponent composition improved the electrochemical properties of Zn–Fe–S powders.  相似文献

Rational composite materials made from transition metal sulfides and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) are highly desirable for designing high‐performance lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs). Here, rGO‐coated or sandwiched CoSx composites are fabricated through facile thermal sulfurization of metal–organic framework/GO precursors. By scrupulously changing the proportion of Co2+ and organic ligands and the solvent of the reaction system, we can tune the forms of GO as either a coating or a supporting layer. Upon testing as anode materials for LIBs, the as‐prepared CoSx‐rGO‐CoSx and rGO@CoSx composites demonstrate brilliant electrochemical performances such as high initial specific capacities of 1248 and 1320 mA h g?1, respectively, at a current density of 100 mA g?1, and stable cycling abilities of 670 and 613 mA h g?1, respectively, after 100 charge/discharge cycles, as well as superior rate capabilities. The excellent electrical conductivity and porous structure of the CoSx/rGO composites can promote Li+ transfer and mitigate internal stress during the charge/discharge process, thus significantly improving the electrochemical performance of electrode materials.  相似文献

A three‐dimensional (3D) hierarchical MOF‐on‐reduced graphene oxide (MOF‐on‐rGO) compartment was successfully synthesized through an in situ reduced and combined process. The unique properties of the MOF‐on‐rGO compartment combining the polarity and porous features of MOFs with the high conductivity of rGO make it an ideal candidate as a sulfur host in lithium–sulfur (Li‐S) batteries. A high initial discharge capacity of 1250 mAh g?1 at a current density of 0.1 C (1.0 C=1675 mAh g?1) was reached using the MOF‐on‐rGO based electrode. At the rate of 1.0 C, a high specific capacity of 601 mAh g?1 was still maintained after 400 discharge–charge cycles, which could be ascribed to the synergistic effect between MOFs and rGO. Both the hierarchical structures of rGO and the polar pore environment of MOF retard the diffusion and migration of soluble polysulfide, contributing to a stable cycling performance. Moreover, the spongy‐layered rGO can buffer the volume expansion and contraction changes, thus supplying stable structures for Li‐S batteries.  相似文献

A facile, one‐pot method for synthesizing spherical‐like metal sulfide–reduced graphene oxide (RGO) composite powders by spray pyrolysis is reported. The direct sulfidation of ZnO nanocrystals decorated on spherical‐like RGO powders resulted in ZnS–RGO composite powders. ZnS nanocrystals with a size below 20 nm were uniformly dispersed on spherical‐like RGO balls. The discharge capacities of the ZnS–RGO, ZnO–RGO, bare ZnS, and bare ZnO powders at a current density of 1000 mA g?1 after 300 cycles were 628, 476, 230, and 168 mA h g?1, respectively, and the corresponding capacity retentions measured after the first cycles were 93, 70, 40, and 21 %, respectively. The discharge capacity of the ZnS–RGO composite powders at a high current density of 4000 mA g?1 after 700 cycles was 437 mA h g?1. The structural stability of the highly conductive ZnS–RGO composite powders with ultrafine crystals during cycling resulted in excellent electrochemical properties.  相似文献

Small‐grained elemental sulfur is precipitated from sodium thiosulfate (Na2S2O3) in a carbon‐containing oxalic acid (HOOC?COOH) solution through a novel spray precipitation method. Surface area analysis, elemental mapping, and transmission electron micrographs revealed that the spray‐precipitated sulfur particles feature 11 times higher surface area compared to conventional precipitated sulfur, with homogeneous distribution in the carbon. Moreover, the scanning electron micrographs show that these high‐surface‐area sulfur particles are firmly adhered to and covered by carbon. This precipitated S–C composite exhibits high discharge capacity with about 75 % capacity retention. The initial discharge capacity was further improved to 1444 mA h g?1 by inserting a free‐standing single‐walled carbon nanotube layer in between the cathode and the separator. Moreover, with the help of the fixed capacity charging technique, 91.6 % capacity retention was achieved.  相似文献

An organo‐functionalized polyoxometalate (POM)–pyrene hybrid (Py‐Anderson) has been used for noncovalent functionalization of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to give a Py‐Anderson‐CNT nanocomposite through π–π interactions. The as‐synthesized nanocomposite was used as the anode material for lithium‐ion batteries, and shows higher discharge capacities and better rate capacity and cycling stability than the individual components. When the current density was 0.5 mA cm?2, the nanocomposite exhibited an initial discharge capacity of 1898.5 mA h g?1 and a high discharge capacity of 665.3 mA h g?1 for up to 100 cycles. AC impedance spectroscopy provides insight into the electrochemical properties and the charge‐transfer mechanism of the Py‐Anderson‐CNTs electrode.  相似文献

A carbon‐sulfur hybrid with pomegranate‐like core–shell structure, which demonstrates a high rate performance and relatively high cyclic stability, is obtained through carbonization of a carbon precursor in the presence of a sulfur precursor (FeS2) and a following oxidation of FeS2 to sulfur by HNO3. Such a structure effectively protects the sulfur and leaves enough buffer space after Fe3+ removal and, at the same time, has an interconnected conductive network. The capacity of the obtained hybrid is 450 mA h g?1 under the current density of 5 C. This work provides a simple strategy to design and prepare various high‐performance carbon‐sulfur hybrids for lithium‐sulfur batteries.  相似文献

Lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries have shown great potential as high energy‐storage devices. However, the stability of the Li metal anode is still a major concern. This is due to the formation of lithium dendrites and severe side reactions with polysulfide intermediates. We herein develop an anode protection method by coating a Nafion/TiO2 composite layer on the Li anode to solve these problems. In this architecture, Nafion suppresses the growth of Li dendrites, protects the Li anode, and prevents side reactions between polysulfides and the Li anode. Moreover, doped TiO2 further improves the ionic conductivity and mechanical properties of the Nafion membrane. Li–S batteries with a Nafion/TiO2‐coated Li anode exhibit better cycling stability (776 mA h g?1 after 100 cycles at 0.2 C, 1 C=1672 mA g?1) and higher rate performance (787 mA h g?1 at 2 C) than those with a pristine Li anode. This work provides an alternative way to construct stable Li anodes for high‐performance Li–S batteries.  相似文献

Porous materials have many structural advantages for energy storage and conversion devices such as rechargeable batteries, supercapacitors, and fuel cells. When applied as a host material in lithium‐sulfur batteries, porous silica materials with a pomegranate‐like architecture can not only act as a buffer matrix for accommodating a large volume change of sulfur, but also suppress the polysulfide shuttle effect. The porous silica/sulfur composite cathodes exhibit excellent electrochemical performances including a high specific capacity of 1450 mA h g?1, a reversible capacity of 82.9 % after 100 cycles at a rate of C/2 (1 C=1672 mA g?1) and an extended cyclability over 300 cycles at 1 C‐rate. Furthermore, the high polysulfide adsorption property of porous silica has been proven by ex‐situ analyses, showing a relationship between the surface area of silica and polysulfide adsorption ability. In particular, the modified porous silica/sulfur composite cathode, which is treated by a deep‐lithiation process in the first discharge step, exhibits a highly reversible capacity of 94.5 % at 1C‐rate after 300 cycles owing to a formation of lithiated‐silica frames and stable solid‐electrolyte‐interphase layers.  相似文献

α‐Fe2O3 nanoparticles are uniformly coated on the surface of α‐MoO3 nanorods through a two‐step hydrothermal synthesis method. As the anode of a lithium‐ion battery, α‐Fe2O3@α‐MoO3 core–shell nanorods exhibit extremely high lithium‐storage performance. At a rate of 0.1 C (10 h per half cycle), the reversible capacity of α‐Fe2O3@α‐MoO3 core–shell nanorods is 1481 mA h g?1 and a value of 1281 mA h g?1 is retained after 50 cycles, which is much higher than that retained by bare α‐MoO3 and α‐Fe2O3 and higher than traditional theoretical results. Such a good performance can be attributed to the synergistic effect between α‐Fe2O3 and α‐MoO3, the small size effect, one‐dimensional nanostructures, short paths for lithium diffusion, and interface spaces. Our results reveal that core–shell nanocomposites have potential applications as high‐performance lithium‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Biomass‐derived porous carbon BPC‐700, incorporating micropores and small mesopores, was prepared through pyrolysis of banana peel followed by activation with KOH. A high specific BET surface area (2741 m2 g?1), large specific pore volume (1.23 cm3 g?1), and well‐controlled pore size distribution (0.6–5.0 nm) were obtained and up to 65 wt % sulfur content could be loaded into the pores of the BPC‐700 sample. When the resultant C/S composite, BPC‐700‐S65, was used as the cathode of a Li–S battery, a large initial discharge capacity (ca. 1200 mAh g?1) was obtained, indicating a good sulfur utilization rate. An excellent discharge capacity (590 mAh g?1) was also achieved for BPC‐700‐S65 at the high current rate of 4 C (12.72 mA cm?2), showing its extremely high rate capability. A reversible capacity of about 570 mAh g?1 was achieved for BPC‐700‐S65 after 500 cycles at 1 C (3.18 mA cm?2), indicating an outstanding cycling stability.  相似文献
