青海省和国内的金属矿区的物探工作,过去都是以直接找矿为主.即用以磁法为主的物探方法直接找磁铁矿,找与磁铁矿及磁黄铁矿伴生的其它金属矿;用以电法为主的物探方法找与黄铁矿伴生的有色及稀有金属矿.近几年,由于地质找矿深度的增大,矿体在地表及空中引起的异常值降低,或者测量不出来,或者观测结果中信躁比小;找低品位矿的任务增多,这种矿石与围岩的物理性质差别不大,矿体或者不引起物探异常,或者异常值很弱,被干扰掩没;要开展像青海省这样交通不便、多为高海拔山区、表土及火山岩覆盖面积较大、基础地质工作较弱、开展工作较难的困难地区的找矿工作,难度相对增大,找矿的效果下降,而找矿的成本大大地增加;为了提高金属矿区物探工作的地质效果,根据当前地质工作的特点,物探技术发展的趋势及青海省的实际情况,对我国当前金属矿区的物探工作,提出一些想法.
