We use the frequency domain method to prove that the zero solution of certain third order nonlinear delayed differential equations is asymptotically stable, (when there is no forcing term). We also prove the existence of a bounded solution which is exponentially stable, (when there is a bounded forcing term). We consider Kirchhoff equations with strong damping, namely with a friction term which depends on a power of the “elastic” operator. We address local and global existence of solutions in two different regimes depending on the exponent in the friction term. When the exponent is greater than 1/2, the dissipation prevails, and we obtain global existence in the energy space, assuming only degenerate hyperbolicity and continuity of the nonlinear term. When the exponent is less than 1/2, we assume strict hyperbolicity and we consider a phase space depending on the continuity modulus of the nonlinear term and on the exponent in the damping. In this phase space, we prove local existence and global existence if initial data are small enough. The regularity we assume both on initial data and on the nonlinear term is weaker than in the classical results for Kirchhoff equations with standard damping. Proofs exploit some recent sharp results for the linearized equation and suitably defined interpolation spaces.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a nonlinear age structured McKendrick–von Foerster population model with diffusion term. Here we prove existence and uniqueness of the solution of the equation. We consider a particular type of nonlinearity in the renewal term and prove Generalized Relative Entropy type inequality. Longtime behavior of the solution has been addressed for both linear and nonlinear versions of the equation. In linear case, we prove that the solution converges to the first eigenfunction with an exponential rate. In nonlinear case, we have considered a particular type of nonlinearity that is present in the mortality term in which we can predict the longtime behavior. We study existence results for a nonlinear Schrödinger equation at resonance. The nonlinearity is assumed to change sign, be unbounded but sublinear with a power like growth at infinity. Under a suitable coercivity assumption on the primitive of the nonlinear term on the kernel of the Schrödinger operator, we prove the existence of at least one solution.  相似文献

Abstract

We consider stochastic semilinear partial differential equations with Lipschitz nonlinear terms. We prove existence and uniqueness of an invariant measure and the existence of a solution for the corresponding Kolmogorov equation in the space L 2(H;ν), where ν is the invariant measure. We also prove the closability of the derivative operator and an integration by parts formula. Finally, under boundness conditions on the nonlinear term, we prove a Poincaré inequality, a logarithmic Sobolev inequality, and the ipercontractivity of the transition semigroup.  相似文献

We consider a nonlinear, nonhomogeneous Robin problem with an indefinite potential and a nonsmooth primitive in the reaction term. In fact, the right-hand side of the problem (reaction term) is the Clarke subdifferential of a locally Lipschitz integrand. We assume that asymptotically this term is resonant with respect the principal eigenvalue (from the left). We prove the existence of three nontrivial smooth solutions, two of constant sign and the third nodal. We also show the existence of extremal constant sign solutions. The tools come from nonsmooth critical point theory and from global optimization (direct method).  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the Robin–Dirichlet problem for a nonlinear wave equation with the source term containing a nonlinear integral. Using the Faedo–Galerkin method and the linearization method for nonlinear terms, we prove the existence and uniqueness of a weak solution. We consider a nonlinear plate equation with thermal memory effects due to non-Fourier heat flux laws. First we prove the existence and uniqueness of global solutions as well as the existence of a global attractor. Then we use a suitable ?ojasiewicz-Simon type inequality to show the convergence of global solutions to single steady states as time goes to infinity under the assumption that the nonlinear term f is real analytic. The propagation of modulated light in a 2d nonlinear photonic waveguide is investigated in the framework of diffractive optics. It is shown that the dynamics obeys a nonlinear Schr?dinger equation at leading order. We compute the first and second corrector and show that the latter may describe some dispersive radiation through the structure. We study the initial boundary value problem for the nonlinear viscoelastic wave equation with strong damping term and dispersive term. By introducing a family of potential wells we not only obtain the invariant sets, but also prove the existence and nonexistence of global weak solution under some conditions with low initial energy.
