Structure of the spectrum of infinite dimensional Hamiltonian operators

This paper deals with the structure of the spectrum of infinite dimensional Hamiltonian operators.It is shown that the spectrum,the union of the point spectrum and residual spectrum,and the continuous spectrum are all symmetric with respect to the imaginary axis of the complex plane. Moreover,it is proved that the residual spectrum does not contain any pair of points symmetric with respect to the imaginary axis;and a complete characterization of the residual spectrum in terms of the point spectrum is then given.As applications of these structure results,we obtain several necessary and sufficient conditions for the residual spectrum of a class of infinite dimensional Hamiltonian operators to be empty.

本文研究斜对角无穷维Hamilton算子$H=\begin{pmatrix}0&B\\C&0\end{pmatrix}$的点谱和特征函数系辛结构的非退化性, 给出斜对角无穷维Hamilton算子$H$的特征函数系具有非退化辛结构的充分必要条件. 基于此, 进一步刻画了斜对角无穷维Hamilton算子$H$的点谱分别包含于实轴、虚轴以及其它区域的充分必要条件. 最后, 以板弯曲问题和弦振动问题中导出的斜对角无穷维Hamilton算子为例, 验证了所得结论的正确性.     

L^2*L^2中的一类无穷维Hamilton算子的剩余谱

该文得到了一类无穷维Hamilton算子的剩余谱和点谱存在的几个判别准则,从而给出了求其剩余谱和点谱的方法. 在此基础上构造了L^2*L^2中无穷维Hamilton算子的剩余谱非空的具体例子, 从而进一步验证了判别准则的有效性.     

只有纯虚谱的Hamilton算子

刻画了一类无穷维Hamilton算子的谱的分布情况,并得到了无穷维Hamilton算子只有纯虚谱的充分条件.最后,构造出具体的例子以说明判别准则的有效性.     

The Point Spectrum of the Linearized Boltzmann Operator with the External-force Term in a Bounded Domain

We will investigate the point spectrum on the imaginary axis of the linearized Boltzmann operator with an external-force potential in a bounded domain whose boundary is sufficiently smooth. The boundary condition considered is the perfectly reflective boundary condition. The point spectrum on the imaginary axis is only equal to {0}. However, the null space varies with the common axes of symmetry of the domain and the external-force potential.

In this paper, by using characterization of the point spectrum of the upper triangular infinite dimensional Hamiltonian operator H, a necessary and sufficient condition is obtained on the symmetry of σP（A） and σ1/P（-A^＊） with respect to the imaginary axis. Then the symmetry of the point spectrum of H is given, and several examples are presented to illustrate the results.     

Spectra of Hamiltonians of molecule pseudorelativistic electrons in spaces of functions with permutational and point symmetry

We study the spectral properties of the Hamiltonian H _n of n pseudorelativistic electrons in the Coulomb field of k fixed nuclei in spaces of functions having arbitrary given types of permutational and point symmetry. For this operator, we establish the location of the essential spectrum, obtain two-sided estimates of the discrete spectrum counting function in terms of the counting functions of the discrete spectrum of some two-particle nonrelativistic operators, and find the leading term of the spectral asymptotics.

本文讨论了一类在弦和梁的微小振动中出现的二次算子族L(λ)=λ~2MλK-A的谱分布问题,进而将所得结论与无穷维Hamilton算子联系起来,利用无穷维Hamilton算子的特殊结构,得到了一类非负无穷维Hamilton算子的谱分布,这为无穷维Hamilton算子的半群方法提供了理论保证.     

Compatible Dubrovin–Novikov Hamiltonian Operators,Lie Derivative,and Integrable Systems of Hydrodynamic Type

We prove that two Dubrovin–Novikov Hamiltonian operators are compatible if and only if one of these operators is the Lie derivative of the other operator along a certain vector field. We consider the class of flat manifolds, which correspond to arbitrary pairs of compatible Dubrovin–Novikov Hamiltonian operators. Locally, these manifolds are defined by solutions of a system of nonlinear equations, which is integrable by the method of the inverse scattering problem. We construct the integrable hierarchies generated by arbitrary pairs of compatible Dubrovin–Novikov Hamiltonian operators.     

Spectral properties and numerical range of off-diagonal infinite-dimensional Hamiltonian operators

The spectral properties of the off-diagonal infinite-dimensional Hamiltonian operator are studied in this article. Characterizations of the spectrum, the point spectrum and the residual spectrum are given. A spectral inclusion property of numerical range is proved.

得到Hilbert空间中的稠定闭线性算子的剩余谱由其点谱及其共轭算子点谱完全刻画,由此给出了其剩余谱为空集的充要条件;从而得到两类稠定闭线性算子的谱结构.     

一类无界算子的点谱,连续谱,剩余谱间的关系

证明了在Ｈｉｌｂｅｒｔ空间中拟相似的闭稠定线性算子有相同的点谱、剩余谱、对于拟相似的闭形式亚正规算子还有相同的连续谱。     

Sturm–Liouville operators in the half axis with shifted potentials

We consider Sturm–Liouville operators in the half axis generated by shifts of the potential and prove that Lebesgue measure is equivalent to a measure defined as an average of spectral measures which correspond to these operators. This is then used to obtain results on stability of spectral types under change of parameters such as boundary conditions, local perturbations, and shifts. In particular if for a set of shifts of positive measure the corresponding operators have α-singular, singular continuous and (or) point spectrum in a fixed interval, then this set of shifts has to be unbounded. Moreover, there are large sets of boundary conditions and local perturbations for which the corresponding operators enjoy the same property.     

Polynomial Conservation Laws in Quantum Systems

We consider systems with a finite number of degrees of freedom and potential energy that is a finite sum of exponentials with purely imaginary or real exponents. Such systems include the generalized Toda chains and systems with a toric configuration space. We consider the problem of describing all the quantum conservation laws, i.e., the differential operators that are polynomial in the derivatives and commute with the Hamiltonian operator. We prove that in the case where the potential energy spectrum is invariant under reflection with respect to the origin, such nontrivial operators exist only if the system under consideration decomposes into a direct sum of decoupled subsystems. In the general case (without the spectrum symmetry assumption), we prove that the existence of a complete set of independent conservation laws implies the complete integrability of the corresponding classical system.

研究了一类无界无穷维Hamilton算子的二次数值域的性质,进而,应用二次数值域来刻画了无穷维Hamilton算子谱的分布范围,并给出了二次数值域的闭包包含谱集的结论.     

Fractal Weyl laws for asymptotically hyperbolic manifolds

For asymptotically hyperbolic manifolds with hyperbolic trapped sets we prove a fractal upper bound on the number of resonances near the essential spectrum, with power determined by the dimension of the trapped set. This covers the case of general convex cocompact quotients (including the case of connected trapped sets) where our result implies a bound on the number of zeros of the Selberg zeta function in disks of arbitrary size along the imaginary axis. Although no sharp fractal lower bounds are known, the case of quasifuchsian groups, included here, is most likely to provide them.
