Based on tropical cyclone track dataset in the western North Pacific from China Meteorological Administration(CMA),variations in frequency and intensity of tropical cyclones(TCs)in the western North Pacific,affecting-China TCs(ACTCs)and landfall TCs(LTCs)achieving a typhoon intensity during 1957-2004 were studied.Frequencies of strong tropical cyclones showed significant decreasing trends from 1957 to 2004 and the linear trend was much greater when the intensity was stronger.There was no linear trend in the portion of strong tropical cyclones achieving a typhoon(TY)intensity,while those reaching a strong typhoon(STY)and a super typhoon(SuperTY)intensity showed decreasing trends during 1957-2004.The maximum intensities of TCs,ACTCs and LTCs all decreased during the period of 1957-2004.The mean intensities of TCs and ACTCs displayed decreasing trends and the mean intensity of LTCs achieving a TY intensity also showed a decreasing trend.  相似文献

以中国气象局西北太平洋热带气旋资料为基础,分析1957-2004年影响我国并达到台风强度以上的三类热带气旋,即生成热带气旋、影响热带气旋和登陆热带气旋的频数和强度的变化。结果表明:强热带气旋频数在1957-2004年间呈显著减少趋势,强度越强,其减少趋势越明显。近50 a台风以上强度的强热带气旋频次占总频次的比例没有明显的增加或减少趋势,强台风和超强台风比例呈减少趋势。1957-2004年热带气旋的最大强度呈线性减弱趋势,生成热带气旋和影响热带气旋的平均强度亦呈减弱趋势,登陆台风的平均强度也呈减弱趋势。  相似文献

This study examines the long-term change in the threat of landfalling tropical cyclones(TCs) in East Asia over the period 1975–2020 with a focus on rapidly intensifying(RI) TCs. The increase in the annual number of RI-TCs over the western North Pacific and the northwestward shift of their genesis location lead to an increasing trend in the annual number of landfalling RI-TCs along the coast of East Asia. The annual power dissipation index(PDI), a measure of the destructive potential of RI-TCs at landfall, also shows a significant increasing trend due to increases in the annual frequency and mean landfall intensity of landfalling RI-TCs. The increase in mean landfall intensity is related to a higher lifetime maximum intensity(LMI) and the LMI location of the landfalling RI-TCs being closer to the coast. The increase in the annual PDI of East Asia is mainly associated with landfalling TCs in the southern(the Philippines, South China, and Vietnam) and northern parts(Japan and the Korean Peninsula) of East Asia due to long-term changes in vertical wind shear and TC heat potential. The former leads to a northwestward shift of favorable environments for TC genesis and intensification, resulting in the northwestward shift in the genesis, RI, and LMI locations of RI-TCs. The latter provides more heat energy from the ocean for TC intensification, increasing its chances to undergo RI.  相似文献

 利用1949-2006年登陆中国的热带气旋(TC)资料,分析登陆TC台风季参数的气候特征,结论如下:1) 登陆中国的初旋①以南海生成为主(占5成半),终旋以西太平洋为主(高达8成),近50多年来初、终旋源地分别呈现向东北、西北移动的趋势;2) 广东(浙江)初旋最早(晚),广西、浙江(广东、海南)终旋较早(晚),广东(浙江)台风季最长(短)。近50多年来除浙江台风季呈延长的线性趋势外,其余各省台风季变短或变化不明显。  相似文献

应用1884—2003年影响福建的热带气旋资料, 采用突变分析、最大熵谱分析、连续小波变换以及正交小波变换等方法研究百余年来影响福建热带气旋频数变化的多时间尺度特征及其异常年份的海气背景场特征。结果表明:百余年来福建经历了3次少台期和2次多台期, 影响福建热带气旋频数具有准13年、准4年和准2.5年的振荡周期, 1971年为年频数变化的突变点; 影响福建热带气旋频数近百年呈弱的上升趋势, 但近十几年略微下降, 未来有偏多的趋势; 影响福建热带气旋异常偏多 (少) 的年份, 夏季500 hPa高度场上, 鄂霍次克海地区位势高度偏低 (高), 从高纬到低纬呈“-+-”(“ +-+”) 的距平型, 纬 (经) 向环流占优势, 西风带低槽偏北 (南), 副热带高压北界偏北 (南), 副热带高压脊线偏北 (南); 赤道中、东太平洋为明显的带状负 (正) SSTA距平区, 同时西太平洋热带气旋主要源区和西北太平洋上皆为正 (负) SSTA距平。由此可见, 影响福建热带气旋频数多寡与西太平洋热带气旋生成区的海温有关, 同时大气环流系统的位置和强弱对热带气旋路径的变化起着关键性作用, 从而使影响福建热带气旋频数的变化。  相似文献

根据1961-2005年有编号的热带气旋资料,从时间和空间两个方面统计分析了影响中国东海附近海区(117°-131°E,22°-33°N)的热带气旋特征。结果表明,统计区域内的影响热带气旋具有明显的年际变化特征,年平均频数为8.6个,年频数与厄尔尼诺具有很好的相关性,厄尔尼诺年为影响热带气旋少频年;影响热带气旋主要集中在6-10月,持续时间多在1-4天之间;影响热带气旋大多生成于菲律宾以东洋面和关岛附近洋面,从统计区域的南侧和东侧进入,主要有西北、东北和转向3条移动路径。  相似文献

The year-to-year increment prediction approach proposed by was applied to forecast the annual number of tropical cyclones (TCs) making landfall over China.The year-to-year increase or decrease in the number of land-falling TCs (LTCs) was first predicted to yield a net number of LTCs between successive years.The statistical prediction scheme for the year-to-year increment of annual LTCs was developed based on data collected from 1977 to 2007,which includes five predictors associated with high latitude circulations in both Hemispheres and the circulation over the local,tropical western North Pacific Ocean.The model shows reasonably high predictive ability,with an average root mean square error (RMSE) of 1.09,a mean absolute error (MAE) of 0.9,and a correlation coefficient between the predicted and observed annual number of LTCs of 0.86,accounting for 74% of the total variance.The cross-validation test further demonstrated the high predictive ability of the model,with an RMSE value of 1.4,an MAE value of 1.2,and a correlation coefficient of 0.74 during this period.  相似文献

To address the deficiency of climatological research on tropical cyclones(TCs) influencing China, we analyze the distributions of TCs with different intensities in the region, based on the best-track TC data for1949–2011 provided by the Shanghai Typhoon Institute. We also present the distributions of 50- and 100-yr return-period TCs with different intensities using the Gumbel probability distribution. The results show that TCs with different intensities exert distinctive effects on various regions of China and its surrounding waters. The extreme intensity distributions of TCs over these different regions also differ. Super and severe typhoons mainly influence Taiwan Island and coastal areas of Fujian and Zhejiang provinces, while typhoons and TCs with lower intensities influence South China most frequently. The probable maximum TC intensity(PMTI) with 50- and 100-yr return periods influencing Taiwan Island is below 890 hPa; the PMTI with a50-yr return period influencing the coastal areas of Fujian and Zhejiang provinces is less than 910 hPa, and that with a 100-yr return period is less than 900 hPa; the PMTI with a 50-yr return period influencing the coastal areas of Hainan, Guangdong, and the northern part of the South China Sea is lower than 930 hPa,and that with a 100-yr return period is less than 920 hPa. The results provide a useful reference for the estimation of extreme TC intensities over different regions of China.  相似文献

An atmosphere-only model system for making seasonal prediction and projecting future intensities of landfalling tropical cyclones (TCs) along the South China coast is upgraded by including ocean and wave models. A total of 642 TCs have been re-simulated using the new system to produce a climatology of TC intensity in the South China Sea. Detailed comparisons of the simulations from the atmosphere-only and the fully coupled systems reveal that the inclusion of the additional ocean and wave models enable differential sea surface temperature responses to various TC characteristics such as translational speed and size. In particular, interaction with the ocean does not necessarily imply a weakening of the TC, with the coastal bathymetry possibly playing a role in causing a near-shore intensification of the TC. These results suggest that to simulate the evolution of TC structure more accurately, it is essential to use an air-sea coupled model instead of an atmosphere-only model.  相似文献

利用中国气象局《热带气旋年鉴》的热带气旋大风和降水资料集,确定了明显影响我国及华东和华南地区的热带气旋个例,并研制热带气旋年频数的预测方案,使得频数预测对防灾减灾更为实用。预测因子采用相关普查的方法,从1961—2000年前期的海表温度、海平面气压及200,500 hPa和850 hPa位势高度和风场中选出,所用的资料为NOAA ER SST和NCEP/NCAR再分析资料。在相关分析的基础上,构建因子时兼顾了因子的系统性的空间结构和时间的变化,并用主成分分析方法去除因子的多重共线性;在最优子集回归建模的基础上进一步对模型进行检验和优化。模型检验和2001—2008年回报试验说明各模型均对各自热带气旋频数 (TCF) 具有较好的预测能力。  相似文献

1994年为影响我国的热带气旋明显偏多年。利用常规天气图和海温资料,对本年度登陆北上热带气旋偏多的环流背景和海温场特征进行了分析,指出,西太平洋副热带高压稳定偏北和海面温度明显偏高,是北上热带气旋偏多的主要原因。同时,还对热带气旋移动路径、所在位置与山东降水的时空分布及降水强度之间的关系进行了简单的统计分析,其结果可供热带气旋的业务预报参考。  相似文献

采用动态合成分析方法,对1970-2006年登陆后北上类TC(tropicalcyclone)和西行类TC各7个样本做动态合成分析和诊断,结果表明:(1)北上类TC在背景场长波槽前北移靠近中纬度斜压锋区,通过吸附运动使TC低压并入西风槽,而西行类TC背景场没有长波槽,离中纬度斜压锋区较远;(2)北上类TC登陆时存在西南低空急流水汽输送带,当其强度减弱后,TC东南侧存在东南暖湿气流作为补充,而西行类TC减弱后逐渐与之分离,且不存在东南暖湿气流作为补充;(3)北上类TC高层辐散区与高空急流边界靠近,因此增强了其向东北方向的辐散,低层由于高层动量下传,加强了低空西风,从而使TC低压环流维持,而西行类TC离高空急流边界较远;(4)北上类TC从中纬度斜压锋区获取斜压能量,其环流垂直切变增强,相对涡度差负值增大,在高空TC中心散度由大变小后又由小变大的过程中,TC发生了变性,而西行类TC没有环境能量补给,逐渐填塞消亡。因此,当一个TC登陆后,其预报移动方向、水汽输送状况、与斜压锋区的关系以及高空辐散气流等特征,可以作为初步判定登陆TC将减弱消亡还是将变性加强的可能原因。  相似文献

In this study,tropical cyclone data from China Meteorological Administration(CMA) and the ECMWF reanalysis data for the period 1958-2001 was used to propose a possible mechanism for the impacts of air-sea interaction on the activity of tropical cyclones(TCs) affecting China.The frequency of TCs affecting China over past 40 years has trended downward,while during the same period,the air-sea interaction in the two key areas of the Pacific region has significantly weakened.Our diagnoses and simulations suggest that air-sea interactions in the central North Pacific tropics and subtropics(Area 1) have an important role in adjusting typhoon activities in the Northwest Pacific in general,and especially in TC activity affecting China.On the contrary,impacts of the air-sea interaction in the eastern part of the South Pacific tropics(Area 2) were found to be rather limited.As both observational analysis and modeling studies show that,in the past four decades and beyond,the weakening trend of the latent heat released from Area 1 matched well with the decreasing Northwest Pacific TC frequency derived from CMA datasets.Results also showed that the weakening trend of latent heat flux in the area was most likely due to the decreasing TC frequency over the Northwest Pacific,including those affecting China.Although our preliminary analysis revealed a possible mechanism through which the air-sea interaction may adjust the genesis conditions for TCs,which eventually affect China,other relevant questions,such as how TC tracks and impacts are affected by these trends,remain unanswered.Further in-depth investigations are required.  相似文献

Variations in the high-frequency oscillations of tropical cyclones(TCs) over the western North Pacific(WNP) are studied in numerical model simulations. Power spectrum analysis of maximum wind speeds at 10 m(MWS_(10)) from an ensemble of15 simulated TCs shows that oscillations are significant for all TCs. The magnitudes of oscillations in MWS_(10) are similar in the WNP and South China Sea(SCS); however, the mean of the averaged significant periods in the SCS(1.93 h) is shorter than that in the open water of the WNP(2.83 h). The shorter period in the SCS is examined through an ensemble of simulations,and a case simulation as well as a sensitivity experiment in which the continent is replaced by ocean for Typhoon Hagupit(2008). The analysis of the convergence efficiency within the boundary layer suggests that the shorter periods in the SCS are possibly due to the stronger terrain effect, which intensifies convergence through greater friction. The enhanced convergence strengthens the disturbance of the gradient and thermal wind balances, and then contributes to the shorter oscillation periods in the SCS.  相似文献

运用中央气象台台风实时业务定位数据、云南省124个国家气象站降水实况和NCEP再分析资料(水平分辨率1°×1°,时间分辨率逐6 h),对比分析了1213号台风启德和1309号强热带风暴飞燕影响云南的路径、环流场、云图、水汽条件、动力条件等特征。结果表明:“启德”影响云南期间青藏高压位置偏西,副热带高压呈带状,热带气旋(TC)位于副热带高压西南侧的东南风到偏东风中,引导气流有利于台风取偏西路径影响云南。而“飞燕”影响时青藏高压位置偏东,副热带高压呈块状,TC位于副热带高压西侧的偏南风中,引导气流有利于热带低压取西北路径影响云南,从而使得“飞燕”影响时云南中部处于气旋性风场中,西南气流和副热带高压外围偏南气流两支气流汇集在此,在云南中部也产生了较强降水。两个TC影响云南时对流层中低层保持了较大的水汽输送。水汽主要来自于其本身、南海洋面和孟加拉湾。水汽辐合中心处于低压倒槽的槽前,随着系统自东向西影响云南的中部及以南地区。强降水区低层辐合、高层辐散,强上升运动为降水提供了有利的动力机制,释放了不稳定能量。因此,做好青藏高压和副热带高压的形态、位置的预报有利于把握登陆后热带低压的移动路径,从而准确预报降水强度和落区。  相似文献

利用1949-2006年热带气旋(TC)年鉴资料,根据2006年新制定的TC等级标准,分析了登陆我国TC的气候特征。结果表明:登陆TC中强热带风暴(STS,38.5%)最多,其余依次为台风(TY)、热带风暴(TS)、强台风(STY)和超强台风(SuperTY)。59%的STY和66.7%的SuperTY在台湾省登陆,尽管登陆广东的TC最多,但登陆的STY和SuperTY却很少。7~9月是TC登陆活跃期,而8~9月登陆TC平均强度最强。登陆TC频数具有明显的年际和年代际变化特征,其中登陆TC频数呈弱的减少趋势,而TY及以上级别TC频数则有增加趋势。在全球气候变暖背景下,登陆TC的生成源地有向北移的趋势,然而近年来南落明显。登陆TC的平均强度出现减弱趋势,但进入21世纪以来,平均强度显著增强,尤其是TC逐年强度极值表现更为明显。登陆TC的平均登陆点无明显的南北偏移,但逐年登陆点最北纬度在20世纪70年代中期以后有南落现象,以35°N以南为主。  相似文献

利用中尺度模式HWRF(Hurricane Weather Research and Forecast System)模拟双热带气旋"狮子山"(2010)与"南川"(2010)涡旋合并过程,并通过强度敏感性试验揭示两涡旋强度对合并过程的影响。分析表明:在两者的合并过程中,"狮子山"涡旋强度明显大于"南川";"狮子山"涡旋对"南川"涡旋具有更大的"吸引"效应,两者西侧呈相对强的能量、水汽"连体"通道。HWRF能够较好的模拟出双热带气旋"狮子山"与"南川"的强度、移动路径,尤其是两涡旋的合并过程。进一步分析控制试验双热带气旋水平与垂直结构揭示出两涡旋"互旋"过程中,"弱涡旋"并入"强涡旋"相互影响特征。有关"狮子山"与"南川"强度的敏感试验亦表明,两者各自涡旋强度"合并方向"具有关键影响。在敏感性试验中,改变涡旋强度后两者路径亦存在"互旋"现象,但与控制试验两涡旋"合并方向"相反,即敏感性试验热带气旋"狮子山"涡旋削弱,而"南川"涡旋强度相对增强,导致原涡旋西侧水汽、能量输送连体通道明显削弱,同时由于"南川"涡旋的强度强于"狮子山",两者东侧水汽、能量输送通道亦加强,导致"南川"涡旋对"狮子山"的涡旋存在"吸引"效应。"狮子山"涡旋残留云带一部分合并入"南川",一部分则随西南气流进入台风"圆规"。  相似文献

利用1949—2021年中国气象局上海台风研究所热带气旋资料、NCEP/NCAR再分析资料、NOAA重构的海表温度资料(SST)和大气向外长波辐射(OLR)资料,采用线性趋势分析、Mann-Kendall检验等方法分析了近73年7—9月登陆华南热带气旋频数的变化特征。采用合成分析的方法研究7—9月登陆华南热带气旋频数异常与同期大气环流和海温的关系。结果表明,1949—2021年7—9月,登陆华南热带气旋有243个,年均3.3个,占全年登陆总数的70.2%。登陆华南热带气旋频数具有显著的年际和年代际变化特征。1973年最多(7个),1950年最少(0个);在1990年代中期由前期偏多转为后期偏少,但没有突变发生。近73年7—9月登陆华南热带气旋频数以0.1(10a)-1的速率减少。7—9月登陆华南热带气旋频数异常与大气环流和海温异常密切相关,在异常多、少年同期:(1)大气环流差值场上,南亚高压偏强、偏东、偏北,副高偏西、偏北、偏强,110°E以东的赤道东风引导气流偏强,季风槽加强,北半球中低纬海平面气压场东高西低,北高南低,同时南海、热带西太平洋对流活动加强。(2)海温差值场上,赤道中东太平洋偏冷,西太平洋暖池偏暖,沃克环流加强。高中低层大气环流和海温这种差异可能是导致登陆华南热带气旋频数异常的原因。  相似文献

The present study identifies a significant influence of the sea surface temperature gradient(SSTG) between the tropical Indian Ocean(TIO; 15°S-15°N, 40°-90°E) and the western Pacific warm pool(WWP; 0°-15°N, 125°-155°E) in boreal spring on tropical cyclone(TC) landfall frequency in mainland China in boreal summer. During the period 1979-2015, a positive spring SSTG induces a zonal inter-basin circulation anomaly with lower-level convergence, mid-tropospheric ascendance and upper-level divergence over the west-central TIO, and the opposite situation over the WWP, which produces lower-level anomalous easterlies and upper-level anomalous westerlies between the TIO and WWP. This zonal circulation anomaly further warms the west-central TIO by driving warm water westward and cools the WWP by inducing local upwelling, which facilitates the persistence of the anomaly until the summer. Consequently, lower-level negative vorticity, strong vertical wind shear and lower-level anticyclonic anomalies prevail over most of the western North Pacific(WNP), which decreases the TC genesis frequency. Meanwhile, there is an anomalous mid-tropospheric anticyclone over the main WNP TC genesis region,meaning a westerly anomaly dominates over coastal regions of mainland China, which is unfavorable for steering TCs to make landfall in mainland China during summer. This implies that the spring SSTG may act as a potential indicator for TC landfall frequency in mainland China.  相似文献
