A great number of experimental data indicating shock wave/boundary layer interactions in internal or external supersonic flows were reviewed to make clear the mechanism of the interaction and to decide the onset of shock-induced separation. The interesting conclusions were obtained for the considerably wide range of flow geometries that the onset of separation is independent of the flow geometries and the boundary layer Reynolds number. It is found that the pressure rise necessary to separate the boundary layer in supersonic external flows could be applied to such internal flows as overexpanded nozzles or diffusers. This is due to the fact that the separation phenomenon caused by shock wave/boundary layer interactions is processed through a supersonic deceleration. The shock-induced separation in almost all of interacting flow fields is governed by the concept of free interaction, and the onset of shock-induced separation is only a function of the Mach number just upstream of shock wave. However, physical scales of the produced separation are not independent of the downstream flow fields.  相似文献

Flow control can be applied to shock wave/boundary layer interactions to achieve two different goals;the delay of shock-induced separation and/or the reduction ofstagnation pressure losses, which cause wave drag or inletinefficiencies. This paper introduces the principles and maintechniques for both approaches and assesses their relativesuitability for practical applications. While boundary layersuction is already in wide use for separation control, themost promising novel device is the micro-vortex generator,which can deliver similar benefits to traditional vortex generatorsat much reduced device drag. Shock control is notyet used on practical applications for a number of reasons,but recent research has focused on three-dimensional deviceswhich promise to deliver flow control with improved offdesignbehaviour. Furthermore, there are some indicationsthat a new generation of control devices may be able to combinethe benefits of shock and boundary layer control andreduce shock-induced stagnation pressure losses as well asdelay shock-induced separation.  相似文献

A boundary layer analysis is presented to investigate numerically the effects of radiation,thermophoresis and the dimensionless heat generation or absorption on hydromagnetic flow with heat and mass transfer over a flat surface in a porous medium.The boundary layer equations are transformed to non-linear ordinary differential equations using scaling group of transformations and they are solved numerically by using the fourth order Runge-Kutta method with shooting technique for some values of physical parameters.Comparisons with previously published work are performed and the results are found to be in very good agreement.Many results are obtained and a representative set is displayed graphically to illustrate the influence of the various parameters on the dimensionless velocity,temperature and concentration profiles as well as the local skin-friction coefficient,wall heat transfer,particle deposition rate and wall thermophoretic deposition velocity.The results show that the magnetic field induces acceleration of the flow,rather than deceleration(as in classical magnetohydrodynamics(MHD) boundary layer flow) but to reduce temperature and increase concentration of particles in boundary layer.Also,there is a strong dependency of the concentration in the boundary layer on both the Schmidt number and mass transfer parameter.  相似文献

The objective of this effort is to develop a computational methodology to capture the side load physics and to anchor the computed aerodynamic side loads with the available data by simulating the startup transient of a regeneratively cooled, high-aspect-ratio nozzle, hot-fired at sea level. The computational methodology is based on an unstructured-grid, pressure-based, reacting flow computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer formulation, and a transient inlet history based on an engine system simulation. Emphases were put on the effects of regenerative cooling on shock formation inside the nozzle, and ramp rate on side load reduction. The results show that three types of asymmetric shock physics incur strong side loads: the generation of combustion wave, shock transitions, and shock pulsations across the nozzle lip, albeit the combustion wave can be avoided with sparklers during hot-firing. Results from both regenerative cooled and adiabatic wall boundary conditions capture the early shock transitions with corresponding side loads matching the measured secondary side load. It is theorized that the first transition from free-shock separation to restricted-shock separation is caused by the Coanda effect. After which the regeneratively cooled wall enhances the Coanda effect such that the supersonic jet stays attached, while the hot adiabatic wall fights off the Coanda effect, and the supersonic jet becomes detached most of the time. As a result, the computed peak side load and dominant frequency due to shock pulsation across the nozzle lip associated with the regeneratively cooled wall boundary condition match those of the test, while those associated with the adiabatic wall boundary condition are much too low. Moreover, shorter ramp time results show that higher ramp rate has the potential in reducing the nozzle side loads.

The aim of this paper is to present the boundary layer flow of viscous incompressible fluid due to a porous vertical stretching surface with a power-law stretching velocity in a thermally stratified medium. Using a special form of Lie group transformations viz. scaling group of transformations, similarity solutions for this problem are obtained. The equations are then solved numerically. With increasing values of the stratification parameter, the velocity as well as temperature decreases. At a particular point of the porous stretching sheet, the velocity decreases with the increasing suction parameter. The dimensionless temperature at a point of the sheet decreases due to suction but increases due to injection. The findings of this study reveal that stratification and suction can be used as means of cooling the boundary layer flow region.  相似文献

This paper reports velocity measurements obtained on a smooth and two geometrically different types of rough surfaces in an open channel. The measurements were obtained using a laser-Doppler anemometer. The recent boundary layer theory proposed by George and Castillo (1997) and conventional scaling laws are used to analyze the data. The present flow shows a strong structural similarity to a canonical turbulent boundary layer in the inner layer. The results demonstrate that surface roughness increases the wake parameter. Surface roughness also enhances the levels of turbulence intensities, Reynolds shear stress and triple correlations over most of the boundary layer, but decreases the stress anisotropy.  相似文献

随着飞行马赫数的不断提高,空气的高温气体效应越来越明显,对高超声速飞行器的气动力/热特性产生重要影响.高温气体效应对气动力/热的影响机理复杂,影响参数众多,迄今为止国内外尚未完全研究清楚.发生高温气体效应时,多个非线性物理过程耦合在一起,地面试验和数值模拟无法将这些过程解耦,无法给出关键物理机理.为了解决这一问题,文章提出一种理论分析与数值模拟相结合的两步渐进新方法:先通过牛顿迭代法得到发生振动激发过程的斜激波无黏解;再将该无黏解的结果作为边界条件,求解边界层的黏性解.利用该方法研究了振动激发过程对二维斜劈的气动力/热特性的影响规律.研究结果表明,振动激发过程对斜激波后的温度、密度、马赫数、雷诺数和斜激波角影响较大,而对压力和速度影响较小.斜激波波后的无黏流动与边界层流动是耦合在一起的.发生振动激发后,斜激波波后雷诺数的增大会导致边界层厚度减小,结合多个物理量的变化,如速度增大和温度减小,共同对边界层内的摩擦阻力和气动热产生影响.对比完全气体的结果发现,振动激发使壁面摩阻升高,而使壁面热流降低.分别通过影响激波层和边界层,振动激发对摩阻的影响是弱耦合的,而对热流的影响则是强耦合的.  相似文献

Flow properties in the TCM2 free piston shock tube/tunnel are determined by time-resolved pressure and heat flux measurements in numerous points of the shock tube and the nozzle, and in the free flow for two stagnation enthalpy conditions (3.5 and 11 MJ/kg). These measurements demonstrate the homogeneity of the flow during more than 1 ms. The cleanness of the useful test time is shown with time-resolved emission measurements at critical wavelengths. NO fluorescence profiles are established with local and planar laser-induced fluorescence in the shock layer around a cylindrical model. It allows to determine the shock stand-off distance for both enthalpy conditions. The problems of quenching and amplified spontaneous emission are considered. The importance of atomic oxygen and atomic nitrogen densities as well as temperature effects is also shown. Evaluation of the temperatures behind the shock front through spectroscopic data agrees with calculations. The proof of the presence of vibrationally excited NO ahead of the shock layer is given. Results are presented in this article of numerical calculations of a viscous shock layer with the associated heat exchange in the vicinity of the critical point of a spherical blunt body taken into account in the presence of nonequilibrium chemical processes in the shock layer and on the surface of the body about which the flow takes place. A number of papers [1–4], in which specification of the surface temperature of the obstacle was utilized, have been devoted to the numerical investigation of a nonequilibrium viscous shock layer. At the same time the surface temperature of a body varies in actual flight due to heating, and together with this there is catalytic activity of the material, which appreciably complicates the problem and necessitates the simultaneous treatment of the course of processes in the gaseous and solid phases. The use of a separate formulation is difficult in this case, since the formulas for the thermal flux from the gaseous phase are of an estimative nature [5] when a volume nonequilibrium chemical reaction is present for a surface having an arbitrary catalytic activity. Taking account of the associated heat exchange has been done before for a number of problems of boundary-layer theory [6, 7], and in this case it has permitted determining the characteristics which are most important from the practical standpoint under conditions of flight along a specified trajectory, as well as under specified time-independent conditions of flight at altitudes at which the approximation of a viscous shock layer is valid. Interaction flow field of the sonic air jet through diamond shaped orifices at different incidence angles (10 degrees, 27.5 degrees, 45 degrees and 90 degrees) and total pressures (0.10 MPa and 0. 46 MPa) with a Mach 5.0 freestream was studied experimentally. A 90 degrees circular injector was examined for comparison. Crosssection Mach number contours were acquired by a Pitot-cone five-hole pressure probe. The results indicate that the low Mach semicircular region close to the wall is the wake region. The boundary layer thinning is in the areas adjacent to the wake. For the detached case, the interaction shock extends further into the freestream, and the shock shape has more curvature, also the low-Mach upwash region is larger. The vortices of the plume and the height of the jet interaction shock increase with increasing incidence angle and jet pressure. 90 degrees diamond and circular injector have stronger plume vorticity, and for the circular injector low-Mach region is smaller than that for the diamond injector. Tapered ramp increases the plume vorticity, and the double ramp reduces the level of vorticity. The three-dimensional interaction shock shape was modeled from the surface shock shape, the center plane shock shape, and crosssectional shock shape. The shock total pressure was estimated with the normal component of the Mach number using normal shock theory. The shock induced total pressure losses decrease with decreasing jet incidence angle and injection pressure, where the largest losses are incurred by the 90 degrees, circular injector.  相似文献

A transonic interaction between a steady shock wave and a turbulent boundary layer in a Mach 1.4 channel flow is experimentally investigated by means of particle image velocimetry (PIV). In the test section, the lower wall is equipped with a contour profile shaped as a bump allowing flow separation. The transonic interaction, characterized by the existence in the outer flow of a lambda shock pattern, causes the separation of the boundary layer, and a low-speed recirculating bubble is observed downstream of the shock foot. Two-component PIV velocity measurements have been performed using an iterative gradient-based cross-correlation algorithm, providing high-speed and flexible calculations, instead of the classic multi-pass processing with FFT-based cross-correlation. The experiments are performed discussing all the hypotheses linked to the experimental set-up and the technique of investigation such as the two-dimensionality assumption of the flow, the particle response assessment, the seeding system, and the PIV correlation uncertainty. Mean velocity fields are presented for the whole interaction with particular attention for the recirculating bubble downstream of the detachment, especially in the mixing layer zone where the effects of the shear stress are most relevant. Turbulence is discussed in details, the results are compared to previous study, and new results are given for the turbulent production term and the return to isotropy mechanism. Finally, using different camera lens, a zoom in the vicinity of the wall presents mean and turbulent velocity fields for the incoming boundary layer.  相似文献

The internal flowfield including shock reflections structure inside a 2-D half inlet model was examined by a double exposure holographic interferometry using a Q-switched pulse laser. The interferograms give detailed flow visualization pictures. The structures of regular reflection, lambda reflection and Mach reflection in the inlet channel were observed. From the analysis of fringe patterns, the quantitative distributions of flow density, pressure and Mach number of the internal flowfield have been reconstructed. The boundary layer thickening and separation in the case of lambda reflection and the Mach stem in the case of Mach reflection were clearly demonstrated in the holographic fringe patterns. The results show that the shock interacitons with the ramp and the wall introduce a complicated flow structure which could strongly affect the efficiency of the inlet.This article was processed using Springer-Verlag TEX Shock Waves macro package 1.0 and the AMS fonts, developed by the American Mathematical Society.  相似文献

Experimental investigations have been devoted to the study of scaling law of coarse-grained dissipation rate structure function for velocity and temperature fluctuation of non-isotropic and inhomogeneous turbulent flows at moderate Reynolds number. Much attention has been paid to the case of turbulent boundary layer, which is typically the non-istropic and inhomogeneous trubulence because of the dynamically important existence of organized coherent structure burst process in the near wall region . Longitudinal velocity and temperature have been measured at different vertical positions in turbulent boundary layer over a heated and unheated flat plate in a wind tunnel using hot wire anemometer. The influence of non-isotropy and inhomogeneity and heating the wall on the scaling law of the dissipation rate structure function is studied because of the existence of organized coherent structure burst process in the near wall region . The present paper describes experimental investigations for shock oscillations caused by normal shock wave/turbulent boundary layer interaction in a supersonic diffuser. An array of wall-mounted transducers and especially a line image sensor for the nonintrusive detection of shock displacements were employed to investigate the interactions at low supersonic speeds. The line image sensor was collimated with a conventional schlieren optical system and was a good indicative of capturing the shock oscillating motions in the present configuration. This study shows that the amplitude of the shock motions increases with approaching flow Mach number, and the cause of oscillation of the shock wave can, however, be independent of the Mach number. This paper presents heat transfer process in a two-dimensional steady hydromagnetic convective flow of an electrically conducting fluid over a flat plate with partial slip at the surface of the boundary subjected to the convective surface heat flux at the boundary. The analysis accounts for both temperature-dependent viscosity and temperature dependent thermal conductivity. The local similarity equations are derived and solved numerically using the Nachtsheim-Swigert iteration procedure. Results for the dimensionless velocity, temperature and ambient Prandtl number within the boundary layer are displayed graphically delineating the effect of various parameters characterizing the flow. The results show that momentum boundary layer thickness significantly depends on the surface convection parameter, Hartmann number and on the sign of the variable viscosity parameter. The results also show that plate surface temperature is higher when there is no slip at the plate compared to its presence. For both slip and no-slip cases surface temperature of the plate can be controlled by controlling the strength of the applied magnetic field. In modelling the thermal boundary layer flow with variable viscosity and variable thermal conductivity, the Prandtl number must be treated as a variable irrespective of flow conditions whether there is slip or no-slip at the boundary to obtain realistic results.  相似文献

A study was made of the wall pressure fluctuations in the reattachment region of a supersonic free shear layer. The free shear layer was formed by the separation of a Mach 2.9 turbulent boundary layer from a backward facing step. Reattachment occurred on a 20° ramp. By adjusting the position of the ramp, the base pressure at the step was set equal to the freestream pressure, and the free shear layer formed in the absence of any turning. An array of flush-mounted, miniature, high-frequency pressure transducers was used in the vicinity of the reattachment region to make multichannel measurements of the fluctuating wall pressure. Contrary to previous observations of this flow, the reattachment region was found to be highly unsteady, and the pressure fluctuations were found to be large. The overall behavior of the wall pressure loading is similar in scale and magnitude to the unsteadiness of the wall pressure field in compression ramp flows at the same Mach number. Rayleigh scattering was used to visualize the instantaneous shock structure in the streamwise and spanwise direction. Spanwise wrinkles on the order of half the boundary layer thickness were observed on the shock sheet.  相似文献

Non-equilibrium turbulence phenomena have raised great interests in recent years. Significant efforts have been devoted to non-equilibrium turbulence properties in canonical flows, e.g., grid turbulence, turbulent wakes, and homogeneous isotropic turbulence(HIT). The non-equilibrium turbulence in non-canonical flows, however, has rarely been studied due to the complexity of the flows. In the present contribution, a directnumerical simulation(DNS) database of a turbulent flow is analyzed over a backwardfacing ramp, the flow near the boundary is demonstrated, and the non-equilibrium turbulent properties of the flow in the wake of the ramp are presented by using the characteristic parameters such as the dissipation coefficient C and the skewness of longitudinal velocity gradient Sk, but with opposite underlying turbulent energy transfer properties. The equation of Lagrangian velocity gradient correlation is examined, and the results show that non-equilibrium turbulence is the result of phase de-coherence phenomena, which is not taken into account in the modeling of non-equilibrium turbulence. These findings are expected to inspire deeper investigation of different non-equilibrium turbulence phenomena in different flow conditions and the improvement of turbulence modeling.  相似文献

The present paper addresses experimental studies of Reynolds number effects on a turbulent boundary layer with separation, reattachment, and recovery. A momentum thickness Reynolds number varies from 1,100 to 20,100 with a wind tunnel enclosed in a pressure vessel by varying the air density and wind tunnel speed. A custom-built, high-resolution laser Doppler anemometer provides fully resolved turbulence measurements over the full Reynolds number range. The experiments show that the mean flow is at most a very weak function of Reynolds number while turbulence quantities strongly depend on Reynolds number. Roller vortices are generated in the separated shear layer caused by the Kelvin–Helmholtz instability. Empirical Reynolds number scalings for the mean velocity and Reynolds stresses are proposed for the upstream boundary layer, the separated region, and the recovery region. The inflectional instability plays a critical role in the scaling in the separated region. The near-wall flow recovers quickly downstream of reattachment even if the outer layer is far from an equilibrium state. As a result, a stress equilibrium layer where a flat-plate boundary layer scaling is valid develops in the recovery region and grows outward moving downstream.  相似文献
