In order to improve the adhesion strength of acrylic adhesive to untreated poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) substrate, two‐component acrylic structural adhesives initiated by tributylborane were prepared. The effects of acrylic monomers, elastomers, decomplexers, and oligomers on the adhesion properties of two‐component acrylic structural adhesive were investigated in sequence. It is found that the shear strength on PET of adhesives toughened by acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene copolymer and carboxyl‐terminated butadiene–acrylonitrile copolymer is higher than that of commercial adhesives Dp8010NS and Loctite 3030. A tailored oligomer was synthesized from hydroxyl propyl–terminated polydimethylsiloxane and 3‐isopropenyl‐α,α‐dimethylbenzyl isocyanate. It is also noticed that premature failure usually takes place in the lap shear test samples due to the brittleness of the acrylic adhesive, except in the sample of adhesive modified by tailored oligomer. Excellent adhesion to the PET substrate is achieved by this adhesive modified by tailored oligomer, with a lap shear strength above 11 MPa and T‐peel strength up to 5.34 N/mm. Using ethylene glycol (EG) and post‐consumer poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) bottles, monomers and oligomers were obtained through glycolysis catalyzed by zinc acetate. Three reaction temperatures (150, 160 and 170 °C) and water contents (0, 1.0 and 2.0% with respect to the volume of EG) were used as inputs; the extent of depolymerization as the analyzed response formed the basis for a factorial design experiment. The products obtained from PET glycolysis were analyzed using high‐performance liquid chromatography and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and their morphology was evaluated using scanning electron microscopy. The results showed the presence of terephthalic acid, hydroxylated tetramers, bis(hydroxyethyl) terephthalate monomer and dimer, and also oligomers with various molecular weights, water being present in the reaction medium. Statistical analysis (95% confidence) indicated that temperature and water content were significant inputs for glycolysis of PET, with the temperature being much the more important factor. © 2016 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Forty different formulations were developed with urethane diacrylate (M1200) oligomers (containing an aliphatic backbone chain) in the presence of eight different functional monomer diluents additives and five co monomers (co additives). Thin films, prepared with these formulations under ultraviolet (UV) and electron beam (EB) radiations, were characterized. The theological properties were correlated with glass transition temperature (T g) of the co monomer diluents. Results obtained with M1200 under UV and EB radiations are discussed and compared with those of aromatic urethane (M1100) films, previously reported.  相似文献
