GOYDER, D. J., 1987. A revision of Arenaria section Plinthine (Coryophyllaceae). The systematics of Arenaria section Plinthine are reviewed and a classification is presented, based on detailed field and herbarium studies. Members of the section are found on the mountains of SW Europe and N Africa. Seven taxa are recognized within five species: A. alfacarensis, A. tetraquetra subsp. tetraquetra, A. tetraquetra subsp. amabilis, A. armerina, A. aggregata subsp. aggregata, A. aggregata subsp. erinacea , and A. querioides. Arenaria armerina and A. aggregata subsp. erinacea are extremely polymorphic and include minor morphological variants which have been treated as separate species in previous systematic treatments of the group.  相似文献

The present revision of Solatium sect. Brevantherum Seithe recognizes 27 species in North and South America, two of which have become naturalized in parts of the Old World. Three species,S. lltisii, S. Goodspeedii, and S. appressum, are described as new. Comparative morphology, geographical distribution, and ecological data provide evidence for species recognition. Some of the most diagnostic features are those associated with the buds, leaves, and the hairs, which range from simple to porrect-stellate and more complex types, described herein as multangulate, dendritic-multangulate, echinoid, and dendriticechinoid.  相似文献

Waltheria laxa , sp. nov., is described from near Mogadishu in south-central Somalia. The species seems to be unique in the mainly neotropical genus Waltheria in its free stamens. It is also unusual in its comparatively long-pedicelled flowers with a distinctly stipitate ovary.  相似文献

Coreopsis queretarensis, a new species from northeastern Mexico belonging to sectionPseudoagarista, is described and illustrated. It is closely related toC. mevaughii of Nueva Galicia but is readily distinguished by leaf shape, involucral bracts, and details of corolla.  相似文献

As part of a recent revision of the genus Crambe , based on the morphological study of herbarium and cultivated material, the systematics of section Dendrocrambe DC. are reviewed here. Section Dendrocrambe (including monospecific section Rhipocrambe Svent.) is considered to comprise 14 species, all endemic to Macaronesian archipelagoes: 13 in the Canary Islands and one in the Madeira Islands. Crambe feuilleei A. Santos and C. gomerae subsp. hirsuta Prina are described here, C. fruticosa subsp. pinnatifida (Lowe) Prina & Mart.-Laborde is proposed as a new status, and a key for the identification of all taxa, as well as maps with localities of collection, are provided.  © 2008 The Linnean Society of London, Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society, 2008, 156 , 291–304.  相似文献

Solanum malacothrix S. Knapp is described from the slopes of the Sierra Madre del Sur in the Río Balsas drainage in the state of Guerrero. It is apparently rare, and has been collected only twice. Its relationship to other species in Mexico and northern South America is discussed.  相似文献

Habenaria sect.Macroceratitae from Brazil is revised, and seven species are recognized:H. bractescens, H. gourlieana, H. johannensis, H. longicauda, H. macronectar, H. nabucoi, and the newly describedH. paulistana. A main feature of these species is the presence of long, separated, involute stigmatic processes.Habenaria bractescens, H. gourlieana, H. johannensis, andH. macronectar are distributed mainly from central and southeastern Brazil to southern Brazil and southern South America, whereasH. longicauda andH. nabucoi are distributed mainly from west central, southeastern and northeastern Brazil to northern South America.Habenaria paulistana is restricted to the state of São Paulo.Habenaria bradei, H. juergensii, andH. sartoroides are lectotypified, andH. kleyi is neotypified. The identity ofH. fastor is discussed andH. nabucoi is recognized as the valid name for this species. Seven other species previously placed in sect.Macroceratitae are sufficiently distinct and are removed from the section.  相似文献

Based on examinations of specimens of Elatostema and Pellionia housed at K, KUN, L, P, PE, and YUNU, Elatostema section Weddelia series Salvinioida is taxonomically revised. Two species are recognized, described, and illustrated, and a key to the species is provided. Elatostema salvinioides var. robustum W.T.Wang is treated as a synonym of E. salvinioides W.T.Wang. Pellionia imbricata Gagnepain is transferred to Elatostema and a lectotype is designated herein. A new name, Elatostema simplicissimum Q. Lin, is provided because Elatostema imbricans was previously occupied. © 2008 The Linnean Society of London, Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society, 2008, 158 , 62–66.  相似文献

RAMAMOORTHY, T. P., 1991. Ruellia section Chiropterophila (Acanthaceae): a novelty from Mexico. A brief review of the structure of the genus Ruellia is provided. A new section, ft. section Chiropterophila is described. Ideas regarding evolution in the section are offered. It is suggested that some of the taxa in the section may be neoendemics.  相似文献

The taxonomic status of Centaurea section Acrocentron in Iran is briefly reviewed. A critical study of 251 herbarium specimens, and an additional 37 accessions collected specifically for this research, led to the discovery of a new variety, Centaurea irritans var. longispinosa Montazerolghaem , and the revival of another, C. persica var. subinermis, a taxon previously treated as a synonym for about 25 years. A key to all Iranian species of Centaurea section Acrocentron is provided. © 2010 The Linnean Society of London, Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society, 2010, 163 , 99–106.  相似文献

Hitherto “suppressed,”Cacao guianensis, based on a mixture of elements that can be referred to three currently recognized species (i.e.,Theobroma cacao, T. subincanum, andT. velutinum), is lectotypified by Aublet's illustrations of its flowers. This makesC. guianensis a taxonomic synonym ofT. cacao and encourages nomenclatural stability by permitting the continued use ofT. subincanum andT. velutinum.  相似文献
