A ~5-μm-thick stretched sheet of a vinyl chloride–vinyldene chloride copolymer containing a suitable polymethine dye providing an optical density of 1–2 at 823 nm has been used to record ~3μm-diameter relaxed spots, produced with pulses of 250 μs or longer from a 5-mW GaAlAs laser operating at 823 nm. The spots have been observed under polarizing microscope. It is proposed that this demonstrates a principle that could be used for recording and retrieval of information by a laser beam, using a stretched polymer as the storage medium. 相似文献

Polyetherimide (PEI) substrate for next‐generation high density optical data storage is fabricated and characterized. Cover‐layer incident or first‐surface recording configurations do not require optical properties of the substrate, which are the prerequisite conditions for the conventional material of polycarbonate (PC). Instead of the optical properties, good mechanical properties with a sufficient transcribability are required. Even though PEI has higher glass transition temperature than that of PC, a microscopic transcribability of PEI is comparable with PC by laminating a thermal insulation layer on the backside of a stamper to retard the heat flow. A macroscopic warpage of PEI substrate is smaller than that of PC substrates, which reduces tilt and servo burden. The lowest critical speed coupled with the flutter of PEI substrate is larger than that of PC substrate because of the mechanical properties of PEI. POLYM. ENG. 以TbFeCo为主的稀土族-过渡金属(RE-TM)合金,能够很容易地获得很大的垂直磁各向异性,适于高密度磁记录。对采用该材料的介质,应用与HDD(硬盘驱动器)同样的磁读出方式进行读出。记录方式采用基于光照射的高温消磁型热磁记录方式。该记录方式应用于磁光盘(MO)的写入。根据磁记录膜的磁特性,靠单一的磁性膜不易同时采用这些记录方式和读出方式。通过磁性膜多层化的方法解决了这个难点。磁读出方式与磁光读出方式相比,读出分辨率有很大提高,具有实现远超磁光盘记录密度的前景。 相似文献

Existing measurement techniques have prevented extensive investigations of the effect of dryer fabric structure on contact drying of paper. Using a novel optical measurement method, the moisture content (MC) of paper can be accurately quantified at high spatial and temporal resolution while it is sandwiched between the heater surface and the dryer fabric. To study the paper drying process, an experimental setup is designed to simulate realistic conditions of a typical paper dryer while providing optical access for the measurement system. Ten commercially available fabrics manufactured by weaving synthetic filaments are used in the investigations. The 3D structure of the fabrics is characterized using optical coherence tomography (OCT). The fabrics are used in the experiments to investigate the effects of the filament structure and paper/fabric contact on the drying process. It is shown the fabric structure affects the drying rate and the drying time. Fabrics that have a relatively large drying rate at high paper MC may have a relatively small drying rate at low levels of MC. The contact area and 3D arrangement of the filaments have the greatest impact on the drying process. Adjacent filaments result in larger blocked regions of the paper surface, which reduces the drying rate. The spatial distribution of moisture as a function of time reveals that frequent rewetted spots appear during the drying. These rewetting spots are caused by reabsorption of water condensed on the fabric filaments. 相似文献
