We first study the quasi-Baerness of R[x; σ, δ] over a quasi-Baer ring R when σ is an automorphism of R, obtaining an affirmative result. We next show that if R is a right principally quasi-Baer ring and σ is an automorphism of R with σ(e) = e for any left semicentral idempotent e ∈ R, then R[x; σ, δ] is right principally quasi-Baer. As a corollary, we have that R[x; δ] over a right principally quasi-Baer ring R is right principally quasi-Baer. Finally, we give conditions under which the quasi-Baernesses (right principal quasi-Baernesses) of R and R[x; σ, δ] are equivalent.  相似文献

A ring R is called “quasi-Baer” if the right annihilator of every right ideal is generated, as a right ideal, by an idempotent. It can be seen that a quasi-Baer ring cannot be a right essential extension of a nilpotent right ideal. Birkenmeier asked: Does there exist a quasi-Baer ring which is a right essential extension of its prime radical? We answer this question in the affirmative. Moreover, we provide an example of a quasi-Baer ring in which the right essentiality of the prime radical does not imply the left essentiality of the prime radical.  相似文献

Let R be a ring and S a strictly totally ordered monoid. Let ω: S → End(R) be a monoid homomorphism. Let M R be an ω-compatible module and either R satisfies the ascending chain conditions (ACC) on left annihilator ideals or every S-indexed subset of right semicentral idempotents in R has a generalized S-indexed join. We show that M R is p.q.-Baer if and only if the generalized power series module M[[S]] R[[S, ω]] is p.q.-Baer. As a consequence, we deduce that for an ω-compatible ring R, the skew generalized power series ring R[[S, ω]] is right p.q.-Baer if and only if R is right p.q.-Baer and either R satisfies the ACC on left annihilator ideals or any S-indexed subset of right semicentral idempotents in R has a generalized S-indexed join in R. Examples to illustrate and delimit the theory are provided.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with identity. We show that R[[X]] is strongly Hopfian bounded if and only if R has a strongly Hopfian bounded extension T such that Ic(T) contains a regular element of T. We deduce that if R[[X]] is strongly Hopfian bounded, then so is R[[X,Y]] where X,Y are two indeterminates over R. Also we show that if R is embeddable in a zero-dimensional strongly Hopfian bounded ring, then so is R[[X]] (this generalizes most results of Hizem [11 Hizem, S. (2011). Formal power series over strongly Hopfian rings. Commun. Algebra 39(1):279291.[Taylor & Francis Online], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]]). For a chained ring R, we show that R[[X]] is strongly Hopfian if and only if R is strongly Hopfian.  相似文献

Let R be a ring, (S,≤) a strictly ordered monoid and ω:SEnd(R) a monoid homomorphism. The skew generalized power series ring R[[S,ω]] is a common generalization of (skew) polynomial rings, (skew) power series rings, (skew) Laurent polynomial rings, (skew) group rings, and Mal’cev-Neumann Laurent series rings. In this paper we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the skew generalized power series ring R[[S,ω]] to be a semiprime, prime, quasi-Baer, or Baer ring. Furthermore, we study the prime radical of a skew generalized power series ring R[[S,ω]]. Our results extend and unify many existing results. In particular, we obtain new theorems on (skew) group rings, Mal’cev-Neumann Laurent series rings and the ring of generalized power series.  相似文献

The skew generalized power series ring R[[S, ω]] is a common generalization of (skew) polynomial rings, (skew) power series rings, (skew) Laurent polynomial rings, (skew) group rings, and Mal'cev–Neumann Laurent series rings. Let α be an endomorphism of R which is not assumed to be surjective and R be α-compatible. It is shown that the skew power series ring R[[x; α]] is right p.q.-Baer if and only if the skew Laurent series ring R[[x, x ?1; α]] is right p.q.-Baer if and only if R is right p.q.-Baer and every countable subset of right semicentral idempotents has a generalized countable join. Let R be an m-dimensional pseudo-valuation domain with residue field k, let V be the associated valuation domain with residue field K, and let k 0 be the maximal separable extension of k in K. We compute the t-dimension of polynomial and power series rings over R. It is easy to see that t-dim R[x 1,…, x n ] = 2 if m = 1 and K is transcendental over k, but equals m otherwise, and that t-dim R[[x 1,…, x n ]] = ∞ if R is a nonSFT-ring. When R is an SFT-ring, we also show that: (1) t-dim R[[x]] = m; (2) t-dim R[[x 1,…, x n ]] = 2m ? 1, if n ≥ 2, K has finite exponent over k 0, and [k 0: k] < ∞; (3) t-dim R[[x 1,…, x n ]] = 2m, otherwise.  相似文献

We prove the following results: (1) Let R ? S be two commutative rings. Suppose that dim R = 0.If f(X) ∈ S[[X]]is integral over R[[X]], then every coefficient of f(X) is integral over R. (2) Let dim R ≥ 1. There exists a ring S containing R and a power series f(X) ∈ S[[X]]such that f(X) is integral over R[[X]], but not all coefficients of f(X) are integral over R. (3) Let k ? R. Suppose that R is algebraic over the field k. Then R[[X]] is integral over k[[X]] if and only if the nilradical of R is nilpotent and the separable degree and the inseparable exponent of R red over k are finite.  相似文献

Let V be a valuation domain and V[[X]] be the power series ring over V. In this paper, we show that if V[[X]] is a locally finite intersection of valuation domains, then V is an SFT domain and hence a discrete valuation domain. As a consequence, it is shown that the power series ring V[[X]] is a Krull domain if and only if V[[X]] is a generalized Krull domain if and only if V[[X]] is an integral domain of Krull type (or equivalently, a PvMD of finite t-character) if and only if V is a discrete valuation domain with Krull dimension at most one.  相似文献

For a ring endomorphism α, we introduce and investigate SPA-rings which are a generalization of α-rigid rings and determine the radicals of the skew polynomial rings R[x; α], R[x, x ?1; α] and the skew power series rings R[[x; α]], R[[x, x ?1; α]], in terms of those of R. We prove that several properties transfer between R and the extensions, in case R is an SPA-ring. We will construct various types of nonreduced SPA-rings and show SPA is a strictly stronger condition than α-rigid.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring. A power series fR[[x]] with (eventually) periodic coefficients is rational. We show that the converse holds if and only if R is an integral extension over Zm for some positive integer m. Let F be a field. We prove the equivalence between two versions of rationality in F[[x1,…,xn]]. We extend Kronecker’s criterion for rationality in F[[x]] to F[[x1,…,xn]]. We introduce the notion of sequential code which is a natural generalization of cyclic and even constacyclic codes over a (not necessarily finite) field. A truncation of a cyclic code over F is both left and right sequential (bisequential). We prove that the converse holds if and only if F is algebraic over Fp for some prime p. Finally, we show that all sequential codes are obtained by a simple and explicit construction.  相似文献

Let α be an automorphism of a ring R. We study the skew Armendariz of Laurent series type rings (α-LA rings), as a generalization of the standard Armendariz condition from polynomials to skew Laurent series. We study on the relationship between the Baerness and p.p. property of a ring R and these of the skew Laurent series ring R[[x, x ?1; α]], in case R is an α-LA ring. Moreover, we prove that for an α-weakly rigid ring R, R[[x, x ?1; α]] is a left p.q.-Baer ring if and only if R is left p.q.-Baer and every countable subset of S ?(R) has a generalized countable join in R. Various types of examples of α-LA rings are provided.  相似文献

Abstract

We show for a commutative ring R with unity: If R satisfies the ascending chain condition on principal ideals (accp) and has only finitely many associated primes, then for any set of indeterminates X the polynomial ring R[X] also satisfies accp. Further we show that accp rises to the power series ring R[[X]] if R satisfies accp and the ascending chain condition on annihilators.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with identity. R is a finite factorization ring (FFR) if every nonzero nonunit of R has only a finite number of factorizations up to order and associates. In this article, we give a characterization of R for R[X] and R[[X]] to be an FFR.  相似文献

Facchini and Nazemian proved that a valuation domain is isonoetherian if and only if it is discrete of Krull dimension ≤2 and they showed that this cannot be generalized from the local case to the global case: the 2-dimensional generalized Dedekind domain ?+X?[[X]] is not isonoetherian. Let D be an integral domain with quotient field K. We provide necessary and sufficient conditions on D and K, so that the ring D+XK[[X]] is isonoetherian. We deduce that if D is integrally closed, then D+XK[[X]] is isonoetherian if and only if D is a semi-local principal ideal domain.  相似文献

A module M R is called principally quasi-Baer (or simply p.q.-Baer) if the annihilator of every cyclic submodule of M R is generated by an idempotent, as a right ideal. Let α be an automorphism of R and M R be an α-compatible module and every countable subset of right semicentral idempotents in R has a generalized countable join or R satisfies the ACC on left annihilator ideals. It is shown that M R is p.q.-Baer if and only if M[[x]] R[[x; α]] is p.q.-Baer if and only if M[[x, x ?1]] R[[x, x ?1; α]] is p.q.-Baer. As a consequence, we unify and extend nontrivially many of the previously known results such as [11 Hashemi , E. ( 2008 ). A note on p.q.-Baer modules . New York J. Math. 14 : 403410 . [Google Scholar], 15 Huang , F. K. ( 2008 ). A note on extensions of principally quasi-Baer rings . Taiwan. J. Math. 45 ( 4 ): 469481 . [Google Scholar], 20 Liu , Z. ( 2002 ). Let R be a ring equipped with an automorphism α and an α-derivation δ. We studied on the relationship between the quasi Baerness and (α, δ)-quasi Baerness of a ring R and these of the inverse skew Laurent series ring R((x?1; α, δ)), in case R is an (α, δ)-weakly rigid ring. Also we proved that for a semicommutative (α, δ)-weakly rigid ring R, R is Baer if and only if so is R((x?1; α, δ)). Moreover for an (α, δ)-weakly rigid ring R, it is shown that the inverse skew Laurent series ring R((x?1; α, δ)) is left p.q.-Baer if and only if R is left p.q.-Baer and every countable subset of left semicentral idempotents of R has a generalized countable join in R.  相似文献

A ring R is called a right PS-ring if its socle, Soc(R R ), is projective. Nicholson and Watters have shown that if R is a right PS-ring, then so are the polynomial ring R[x] and power series ring R[[x]]. In this paper, it is proved that, under suitable conditions, if R has a (flat) projective socle, then so does the skew inverse power series ring R[[x ?1; α, δ]] and the skew polynomial ring R[x; α, δ], where R is an associative ring equipped with an automorphism α and an α-derivation δ. Our results extend and unify many existing results. Examples to illustrate and delimit the theory are provided.  相似文献
