为了研究光差分相移键控(DPSK)调制格式在光纤高速传输系统中的色散补偿, 利用色散补偿光纤(DCF)的色散补偿原理, 对40Gbit/s光纤传输系统进行色散补偿, 分析了40Gbit/s单通道光纤传输系统中3种DPSK调制格式信号的频谱特性; 仿真了3种码型的色散容忍度以及3种调制格式在考虑光纤的非线性下的色散补偿方案。结果表明, 光非归零码差分相移键控(NRZ-DPSK)信号具有最好的色散容忍度, 但其受非线性的影响比较大; 33%归零码差分相移键控(33%RZ-DPSK)信号的色散容忍度差, 但其色散补偿后的效果优于NRZ-DPSK; 而载波抑制归零码差分相移键控信号对色散和非线性效应都有较好的抑制; 3种DPSK调制格式均在对称补偿2方案中色散补偿的效果最佳。此仿真研究对光DPSK信号在光纤中的色散补偿具有参考意义。  相似文献

为了研究信道编码技术对无线光通信副载波系统差错性能的影响,基于无线光通信链路噪声特性,建立了大气信道等效数学模型。采用低密度奇偶校验(LDPC)码作为信道编码方式引入无线光通信,在不同光强闪烁指数下对基于副载波相移键控调制无线光通信系统进行了差错性能仿真,比较分析了LDPC编码前后副载波调制系统的误比特率,并对二相相移键控及四相相移键控两种系统进行了对比。结果表明,副载波二相相移键控调制系统的差错性能优于四相相移键控系统,同时LDPC码在弱湍流信道具有优越的纠错能力,可以获得比未编码系统较高的编码增益,在无线光通信领域具有一定的应用价值。  相似文献

介绍了光码分多址(OCDMA)系统和常用的几种编/解码器(E/D).研究了基于光纤延时线(OFDL)和基于光纤布拉格光栅(FBGs)的可调谐编/解码器,讨论了两种基于光纤延时线的可调方案,对它们的结构和性能进行了分析.讨论了基于光纤布拉格光栅(FBGs)的编/解码器,介绍了光纤布拉格光栅编/解码器的原理和利用压电陶瓷(PZT)调谐光纤布拉格光栅的参数选择.给出了一种基于光纤布拉格光栅阵列的可调谐二维编/解码器结构,并分析了它的主要优点.介绍了基于超结构光纤布拉格光栅(SSFBG)的二进制相移键控(BPSK)编/解码器和可调谐四进制相移键控(QPSK)超结构光纤布拉格光栅编/解码器的构造方法,探讨了光码分多址系统编/解码器的发展前景.  相似文献

Transmission performances of direct detection‐based 100‐Gb/s modulation formats are investigated and compared for metro area optical networks. The effects of optical signal‐to‐noise ratio sensitivity, chromatic dispersion, cross‐channel nonlinearity, and transmission distance on the performance of differential 8‐ary phase‐shift keying (D8PSK), differential phase‐shift keying plus three‐level amplitude‐shift keying (DPSK+3ASK), and dual‐carrier differential quaternary phase‐shift keying (DC‐DQPSK) are evaluated. The performance of coherent dual‐polarization quadrature phase‐shift keying (DP‐QPSK) with block phase estimation and coherent DP‐QPSK with digital differential detection are also presented for reference. According to our analysis, all three direct detection modulation formats could transmit a 100‐Gb/s signal over several hundred kilometers of a single‐mode fiber link. The results also show that DC‐DQPSK outperforms D8PSK and DPSK+3ASK, and the performance of DC‐DQPSK is comparable to that of coherent DP‐QPSK with digital differential detection. The maximum transmission distance of DC‐DQPSK is over 1,000 km, which is enough distance for metro applications.  相似文献

The interactions induced by the nonlinear refractive index in a single-mode optical fiber (Kerr effect) between a modulated wave and a carrier wave have been investigated for amplitude shift keying (ASK), frequency shift keying (FSK), and phase shift keying (PSK). The theoretical analysis, based on a time-domain solution, exploits the well-known formalism of self-phase modulation to describe the propagation of the input electric field in the fiber. The theoretical results were validated experimentally for amplitude- and phase-modulated waves with heterodyne detection techniques. These experiments mimic a coherent transmission system and allow the measurement of the spectrum of each of the waves that participate in the nonlinear interaction  相似文献

为了提高自由空间光/射频(FSO/RF)混合通信链路的性能,采用混合低密度奇偶校验(LDPC)编码与副载波相移键控/正交振幅调制(PSK/QAM)联合调制的方法,对不同传输比例下混合系统的误比特率性能进行了仿真分析,取得了不同信道条件下单链路和混合链路传输方案的误比特率数据。结果表明,在弱中强湍流条件下采用副载波二进制相移键控(BPSK)调制,相比开关键控(OOK)调制可获得大约4.4dB~5.2dB的增益。采用软切换的混合LDPC编码与副载波BPSK/16QAM调制方案,依据链路状态调整比例为1:1和3:1时,不同湍流强度下可获得大约0.3dB~7.4dB的性能增益。这一研究结果对于提高FSO/RF混合通信系统的全天候高效可靠传输性能具有重要的参考价值。  相似文献

The spectral spreads of quadrature-phase-shift-keying (QPSK) modulation and minimum shift keying (MSK) modulation are narrower than those of other kinds of modulation with the same bit rate. Therefore, they are attractive for systems limited by electrical bandwidth and available optical frequency. The synchronous demodulation offers better sensitivity than differential demodulation. However, the propagation delay time of the phase locked loop affects the performance of synchronous detection systems. Therefore, linewidth requirements while considering the loop delay time must be considered in designing these systems. The linewidth requirements for BPSK, QPSK, and MSK homodyne/heterodyne detection systems are obtained by applying the Pade approximation in evaluating the receivers' performance. This paper presents a new method and circuit for the conversion of binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) signals into amplitude shift keying signals. The basic principles of the conversion method are the superharmonic injection and locking of oscillator circuits, and interference phenomena. The first one is used to synchronize the oscillators, while the second is used to generate an amplitude interference pattern that reproduces the original phase modulation. When combined with an envelope detector, the proposed converter circuit allows the coherent demodulation of BPSK signals without need of any explicit carrier recovery system. The time response of the converter circuit to phase changes of the input signal, as well as the conversion limits, are discussed in detail.  相似文献

The performance of a hybrid AM/BPSK (amplitude modulated/binary phase shift keying) polymer optical fibre transmission system has been investigated. A BPSK modulated 2 Mbit/s pseudorandom digital channel is substituted for one of the AM channels in a 60-channel cable TV system. For the digital channel, a bit error rate of <10-9 is obtained after transmission through 200 m of fibre. In this letter, we propose an optical subcarrier labeling technique that guarantees the transparency to the payload modulation format based on carrier suppression of the payload. We experimentally demonstrate transparent wavelength conversion based on four-wave mixing in a highly nonlinear fiber and subcarrier label insertion for a 10-Gb/s differential phase-shift keying payload and a 155-Mb/s amplitude shift keying subcarrier label with an overall penalty of 1.8 dB for the payload and 1.7 dB for the label.  相似文献

This letter demonstrates the feasibility of a novel direct detection microwave photonic vector modulation scheme for the radio-over-fiber (RoF) system. Unlike the traditional double-sideband with optical carrier suppression modulation scheme, which can carry only the on-off keying data format, the proposed scheme encodes the electrical vector signal on either the upper sideband (USB) or the lower sideband (LSB) only and a pure optical subcarrier on the other sideband. Therefore, phase and amplitude information will be preserved after direct detection. A frequency doubling scheme is employed to reduce the cost of RoF systems. Additionally, the relative intensity between USB and LSB can be easily tuned by adjusting the individual power of electrical driving signals to optimize the performance of the optical radio-frequency signals. A proof-of-concept experiment is conducted by using a 1.25 Gb/s BPSK signal at a carrier frequency of 20 GHz. After transmission over 50-km single-mode fiber, the receiver sensitivity penalty is less than 0.5 dB.  相似文献

In this paper we present long-reach fiber access links supporting transmission of Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) compliant signals. We present bi-directional full-duplex transmission of 256-state quadrature amplitude modulation (256-QAM) modulated WiMAX-compliant signals on a 2.4-GHz RF carrier over an 80-km long-reach access link at 100 Mb/s (down) and 64 Mb/s (up). Transmission of 64-QAM and 256-QAM-modulated signals on a 5.8-GHz RF carrier over a 118.8-km access link converged with four baseband differential quadrature phase shift keying (DQPSK) modulated wireline channels, along with ultra-wide band (UWB) and phase shift keying (PSK) radio-over-fiber (RoF) wireless signals over a deployed optical fiber link is also presented.  相似文献

Design and performance of a single-chip minimum shift keying (MSK) coherent demodulator fabricated by complementary metal oxide semiconductor-integrated circuit (CMOS-IC) technology is described. The demodulator consists of a phase detection circuit, carrier recovery circuit, data recovery circuit, and timing-clock recovery circuit. For the carrier recovery circuit, three types of Costas-loop are reviewed from the viewpoint that MSK modulation format has a close relationship to binary phase shift keying (BPSK) and quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK). Among these loops, a loop of center-frequency locking scheme modified from a BPSK Costas-loop, termed MSK Costas-loop in this paper, is adopted for IC implementation. Digital IC design techniques are next described. Utilizing the sample-and-hold operation of the digital devices, a divided-frequency locking scheme of the quadrature coherent demodulation is proposed. Finally, IC demodulator performance is experimentally shown in the static and Rayleigh fading environments. The bit error rate performance and error-burst characteristic are measured. It is concluded that the single-chip coherent demodulator is suitable for digital mobile radio application.  相似文献

Radio over fiber communication system technology modulation techniques are presented in this study in order to enhance the performance behavior of optical fiber communication systems. The proposed modulation techniques used to meet this aim mainly consist from a mixture of traditional modulation technologies. The proposed modulation technologies include merging modulation techniques such as pulse amplitude frequency modulation, quadrature amplitude frequency modulation, differential phase shift keying amplitude modulation, offset quadrature phase shift keying amplitude modulation and frequency phase modulation are applied on different optical communication system models. The different types of modulation techniques are illustrated and discriminated in current research paper that provides measured quantities details that namely received power, maximum Q-factor and minimum bit error rate regarding to simulation results. Optiwave Simulation Version 13 software is the basic tool which is used to study proposed models.

We present optical transmission systems employing minimum shift keying modulation formats of single and dual-amplitude level under linear, weakly nonlinear, strongly nonlinear variation of the lightwave carrier within a bit-period depending on whether the phase variation within a symbol period is linear or nonlinear. These formats are externally modulated, incoherently and differentially detected based on the Mach-Zehnder delay interferometric optical balanced receiver. Transmission performance of these optical transmission systems is evaluated in terms of receiver sensitivity, amplification stimulated emission noise loading, dispersion tolerances. These performance characteristics are compared with return-to-zero (RZ) differential phase shift keying (DPSK) and carrier-suppressed RZ on-off keying modulation formats. Accurate bit-error ratios are obtained and confirmed by different statistical techniques: Monte Carlo, single-Gaussian or multiple Gaussian distributions and generalized Pareto distribution statistical methods, especially when the eye diagrams are distorted. Among the three minimum shift keying (MSK) types, the weakly nonlinear optical MSK is found to be the most promising because of its robust transmission performance and more importantly, its reduced-complexity of the electrical driving signals for transmitter in modulating the lightwave carrier as compared to the linear MSK counterpart. Transmission performance of dual-level MSK optical transmission systems depends on the intensity-splitting ratio of the two levels. The performance of three ratios: 0.7/0.3,0.8/0.2, and 0.9/0.1 are demonstrated. The spectral attributes of 80 Gb/s dual-level MSK optical signals for these three ratios are similar to each other and compatible with that of 40 Gb/s optical MSK, but narrower than that of 40 Gb/s optical nonreturn-to-zero DPSK, hence high spectral efficiency of the dual-level MSK.  相似文献
