Numerous studies can be found on expert systems (ES) as a specific IT in the literature. However, their focus has been mainly on system development from a technical perspective. Based on an empirical study on expert systems diffusion in 20 British banking organizations, this paper reports the findings from the study. The study finds that ES infusion concentrated in specific processes that require extensive knowledge in banking. There is a strong organizational perspective towards expert systems development in these banking organizations rather than the technical perspective. ES diffusion and top management commitment are closely associated. The existence of IT strategy aligned with business strategy (and/or with an A1 element within it) is not a good predictor for ES adoptions. Three cases of expert systems applications in banking are given in the paper. These results are useful for practitioners in managing their intelligent systems projects and researchers for further studies in this area.  相似文献

As banking is currently considered a non-typical area for ERP usage, the authors conducted a survey on anticipated benefits, potential disadvantages and implementation success associated with ERP adoption in banking. The results indicate that, despite a predominant usage of ERP systems in back-office areas, banks see ERP systems as a long-term strategic investment to support organizational effectiveness.  相似文献

Despite the rapid increase of Internet users and cited benefits of using Internet banking, the number of Internet banking users has not risen as strongly as expected. In order to understand this problem, it is critical to understand how customers’ personalities and perceptions influence Internet banking use. In this study, a quantitative model of Internet banking use was developed, which incorporates four dimensions, namely, (1) openness toward advanced technology as an individual personality dimension, (2) website usability, including perceived usefulness and ease of use, (3) perceived security concern, and (4) green concern for conserving nature resources as the social influence dimension. The study investigates the moderating effect between these dimensions on Internet banking use. A survey instrument was used to gather data to estimate the proposed research model. The results show that openness, website usability, and perceived security concern significantly influence customers’ Internet banking use. In terms of moderating effects, all dimensions play an important role as a moderator on the relation between other dimensions and Internet banking use. Overall, the model helps to increase our understanding of how these dimensions interact to influence Internet banking use, which can help in the design of Internet banking and other e-channel systems.  相似文献

A hybrid system structure comprised of distributed systems to take advantage of locality of reference and a central system to handle transactions that access non-local data is examined. Several transaction processing applications, such as reservation systems, insurance and banking have such regional locality of reference. A concurrency and coherency control protocol that maintains the integrity of the data and performs well for transactions that access local or non-local data is described. It is shown that the performance of the hybrid system is much less sensitive to the fraction of remote accesses than the distributed system and offers similar performance to the distributed system for local transactions  相似文献

This article is particularly concentrated on measuring systemic risk based on network topology of bilateral exposures and obligations specifically for the sectoral level of global banking systems in 2010. Financial network models based on financial exposures are models that aim to depict causal chains of exposures and obligations of counterparties rather than rely solely on statistical correlations on market price-based data for financial institutions. Our starting point is the bilateral claims of the ultimate risk of the main institutional sectors that include banks, non-bank private sectors and non-allocated sectors of the 10 reporting countries that consist of Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The other non-reporting countries will be merged into one group. The results show that banking systems in countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom in particular are making vast amounts of foreign investments, implying that they constitute a central hub in the core. The results in the contagion effect show that all of the other countries are collapsed after a shock from a core country such as the United Kingdom in both rates of loss given defaults of 100 and 60 %.  相似文献

提出一种将传统互联网银行系统平滑升级为手机银行的设计方案,满足传统网银服务系统在不做任何修改的条件下,能够同时提供互联网接入与移动互联网接入服务。通过引入代理服务器,移动终端被虚拟为电脑客户端,使得移动终端的接入在网银系统看来,即为传统互联网接入方式。同时,移动终端上的复杂运算由代理服务器完成,降低了终端的负荷,使终端简化成为远程操作的交互界面。另外,移动设备上采用智能存储卡作为签名设备,可以达到与网银上使用USBKey相同的安全性。  相似文献

The existence of this phenomenon was observed some time ago by specialists-practitioners who were forced to make management decisions affecting the dynamics of banking and economic systems. For decades, the literature on banking crisis early-warning systems has been dominated by two methods, namely, the signal extraction and the logit model methods. However, these methods, do not model the dynamics of the systemic banking system. In this study, dynamic Bayesian networks are applied as systemic banking crisis early-warning systems. In particular, the hidden Markov model, the switching linear dynamic system and the naïve Bayes switching linear dynamic system models are considered. These dynamic Bayesian networks provide the means to model system dynamics using the Markovian framework. Given the dynamics, the probability of an impending crisis can be calculated. A unique approach to measuring the ability of a model to predict a crisis is utilised. The results indicate that the dynamic Bayesian network models can provide precise early-warnings compared with the signal extraction and the logit methods.  相似文献

Toward an understanding of the behavioral intention to use mobile banking   总被引:19,自引:2,他引:19  
Although millions of dollars have been spent on building mobile banking systems, reports on mobile banking show that potential users may not be using the systems, despite their availability. Thus, research is needed to identify the factors determining users' acceptance of mobile banking. While there has been considerable research on the technology acceptance model (TAM) that predicts whether individuals will accept and voluntarily use information systems, limitations of the TAM include the omission of an important trust-based construct in the context of electronic/mobile commerce, and the assumption that there are no barriers preventing an individual from using an IS if he or she chooses to do so. Based on literature relating to the theory of planned behavior (TPB) and the TAM, this study extends the applicability of the TAM in a mobile banking context, by adding one trust-based construct (“perceived credibility”) and two resource-based constructs (“perceived self-efficacy” and “perceived financial cost”) to the model, while paying careful attention to the placing of these constructs in the TAM's existing nomological structure. Data collected from 180 users in Taiwan were tested against the extended TAM, using the structural equation modeling approach. The results strongly support the extended TAM in predicting users' intentions to adopt mobile banking. Several implications for IT/IS acceptance research and mobile banking management practices are discussed.  相似文献
