Regularity of optimal sets for some functional involving eigenvalues of an operator in divergence form

In this paper we consider minimizers of the functional$\min \{{\lambda }_1(\mathrm{\Omega })+\cdots +{\lambda }_k(\mathrm{\Omega })+\mathrm{\Lambda }|\mathrm{\Omega }|,:\mathrm{\Omega }\subset D\text{ open}\}$ where $D\subset {\mathbb{R}}^d$ is a bounded open set and where $0<{\lambda }_1(\mathrm{\Omega })\le \cdots \le {\lambda }_k(\mathrm{\Omega })$ are the first k eigenvalues on Ω of an operator in divergence form with Dirichlet boundary condition and with Hölder continuous coefficients. We prove that the optimal sets ${\mathrm{\Omega }}^{⁎}$ have finite perimeter and that their free boundary $\partial {\mathrm{\Omega }}^{⁎}\cap D$ is composed of a regular part, which is locally the graph of a $C^{1,\alpha }$-regular function, and a singular part, which is empty if $d<d^{⁎}$, discrete if $d=d^{⁎}$ and of Hausdorff dimension at most $d-d^{⁎}$ if $d>d^{⁎}$, for some $d^{⁎}\in \{5,6,7\}$.     

On the structure of diffuse measures for parabolic capacities

Let $Q=(0,T)\times \mathrm{\Omega }$, where Ω is a bounded open subset of ${\mathbb{R}}^d$. We consider the parabolic p-capacity on Q naturally associated with the usual p-Laplacian. Droniou, Porretta, and Prignet have shown that if a bounded Radon measure μ on Q is diffuse, i.e. charges no set of zero p-capacity, $p>1$, then it is of the form $\mu =f+\text{div}(G)+g_t$ for some $f\in L^1(Q)$, $G\in {(L^{p^{\prime }}(Q))}^d$ and $g\in L^p(0,T;W_0^{1,p}(\mathrm{\Omega })\cap L^2(\mathrm{\Omega }))$. We show the converse of this result: if $p>1$, then each bounded Radon measure μ on Q admitting such a decomposition is diffuse.     

Classification of cyclic codes over a non-Galois chain ring Zp[u]/〈u3〉

We explicitly determine generators of cyclic codes over a non-Galois finite chain ring ${\mathbb{Z}}_p[u]/〈u^3〉$ of length $p^k$, where p is a prime number and k is a positive integer. We completely classify that there are three types of principal ideals of ${\mathbb{Z}}_p[u]/〈u^3〉$ and four types of non-principal ideals of ${\mathbb{Z}}_p[u]/〈u^3〉$, which are associated with cyclic codes over ${\mathbb{Z}}_p[u]/〈u^3〉$ of length $p^k$. We then obtain a mass formula for cyclic codes over ${\mathbb{Z}}_p[u]/〈u^3〉$ of length $p^k$.     

The Z2-orbifold of the universal affine vertex algebra

Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a simple, finite-dimensional complex Lie algebra, and let $V^k(\mathfrak{g})$ denote the universal affine vertex algebra associated to $\mathfrak{g}$ at level k. The Cartan involution on $\mathfrak{g}$ lifts to an involution on $V^k(\mathfrak{g})$, and we denote by $V^k{(\mathfrak{g})}^{{\mathbb{Z}}_2}$ the orbifold, or fixed-point subalgebra, under this involution. Our main result is an explicit minimal strong finite generating set for $V^k{(\mathfrak{g})}^{{\mathbb{Z}}_2}$ for generic values of k.     

Regular characters of classical groups over complete discrete valuation rings

Let $\mathfrak{o}$ be a complete discrete valuation ring with finite residue field $\mathsf{k}$ of odd characteristic, and let G be a symplectic or special orthogonal group scheme over $\mathfrak{o}$. For any $?\in \mathbb{N}$ let $G^{?}$ denote the ?-th principal congruence subgroup of $\mathbf{G}(\mathfrak{o})$. An irreducible character of the group $\mathbf{G}(\mathfrak{o})$ is said to be regular if it is trivial on a subgroup $G^{?+1}$ for some ?, and if its restriction to $G^{?}/G^{?+1}?\mathrm{Lie}(\mathbf{G})(\mathsf{k})$ consists of characters of minimal $\mathbf{G}({\mathsf{k}}^{\mathrm{alg}})$-stabilizer dimension. In the present paper we consider the regular characters of such classical groups over $\mathfrak{o}$, and construct and enumerate all regular characters of $\mathbf{G}(\mathfrak{o})$, when the characteristic of $\mathsf{k}$ is greater than two. As a result, we compute the regular part of their representation zeta function.
