We consider the acoustic propagator A=−∇·c2∇ in the strip Ω={(x, z)∈ℝ2∣0<z<H} with finite width H>0. The celerity c depends for large ∣x∣ only on the variable z and describes the stratification of Ω: it is assumed to be in L(Ω), bounded from below by cmin>0, such that there exists M>0 with c(x, z)=c1(z) if x< −M and c(x, z)=c2(z) if x>M. We look at the propagator A as a ‘perturbation’ of the free propagators Aj in Ω associated to the velocities cj, j=1, 2, and implement a ‘perturbative’ method, adapting ideas of Majda and Vainberg. The spectrum of A is defined in section 2, a limiting absorption principle is proved in section 3 outside of a countable set Γ(A). The points of Γ(A) can only accumulate at the left of the thresholds of the free propagators. The needed material about Aj, j=1, 2, and some technical estimates for A are given in Appendix. © 1998 B. Our problem is about propagation of waves in stratified strips. The operators are quite general, a typical example being a coupled elasto‐acoustic operator H defined in ?2 × I where I is a bounded interval of ? with coefficients depending only on z∈I. One applies the ‘conjugate operator method’ to an operator obtained by a spectral decomposition of the partial Fourier transform ? of H. Around each value of the spectrum (except the eigenvalues) including the thresholds, a conjugate operator may be constructed which ensures the ‘good properties’ of regularity for H. A limiting absorption principle is then obtained for a large class of operators at every point of the spectrum (except eigenvalues). If the point is a threshold, the limiting absorption principle is valid in a closed subspace of the usual one (namely L, with s>½) and we are interested by the behaviour of R(z), z close to a threshold, applying in the usual space L, with s>½ when z tends to the threshold. Strong asymptotic completeness is shown for a pair of Schrödinger type operators on a cylindrical Lipschitz domain. A key ingredient is a limiting absorption principle valid in a scale of weighted (local) Sobolev spaces with respect to the uniform topology. The results are based on a refined version of Mourre’s method within the context of pseudo-selfadjoint operators.  相似文献

In this paper, we are interested in a boundary damped wave problem with a singular potential. Using a careful spectral analysis, asymptotic expressions of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the system operator are derived in terms of the dissipative coefficient and the potential. The Riesz basis property of eigenfunctions and generalized eigenfunctions is also studied. As a consequence, we obtained the exponential stability.  相似文献

本文从气泡壁面线性运动方程出发,对水中孤立气泡的声耗散机理进行了分析。结果表明:气泡对声波具有明显的耗散作用;耗散作用由声散射和声吸收两部份组成;热传导在气泡对声波的耗散作用中起决定性作用;气泡处于谐振时,对声波具有最大的耗散作用。  相似文献

A simple stochastic epidemic model incorporating births into the susceptible class is considered. An approximation is derived for the mean duration of the epidemic. It is proved that the epidemic ultimately dies out with probability 1. The limiting behavior of the epidemic conditional on non-extinction is studied using approximation methods. We study the spectrum of Hamiltonians of charged multiparticle systems in a homogeneous magnetic field with a fixed sum P of the pseudomomentum components and without it. We prove that if P is fixed, then the spectrum of Hamiltonians is independent of the value of P , while the spectrum without fixation of P coincides with the spectrum with fixation and differs from the latter only by some additional infinite degeneration (this is a principal difference between problems with a homogeneous magnetic field and problems without any field in which the absence of any fixation of the total angular momentum results in covering the spectrum of the relative motion by a continuous spectrum). We find the continuous spectrum of the Hamiltonians and characterize the spectrum of Hamiltonians of two-cluster mutually noninteracting systems obtained by decomposing the original system in the state with a fixed value of P . The last result is necessary for the study of the purely point spectrum.  相似文献

本文采用Donnell型扁壳理论,在文献[1]的基础上,应用能量变分法分析了在均布外压作用下复合材料叠层圆锥壳体的稳定性问题,得到了临界载荷的近似表达式.数值结果表明,临界载荷的理论预示值与实验结果非常吻合.最后,讨论了材料弹性常数、铺层参数等因素对临界载荷的影响.本文所得结果对航空航天结构设计具有重要参考价值.  相似文献

We study the pure point spectrum of the energy operator H(P ) of a many-particle charged quantum system in a homogeneous magnetic field based on the results in our previous work under fixation of the sum P of the pseudomomentum components of the system. We prove that the discrete spectrum H(P ) of a short-range system is infinite under some conditions (which, for example, hold for a system of two oppositely charged particles) even in the case of a finitely supported potential. For a long-range system of the type of a (+)-ion of an atom (including the ion), the discrete spectrum is infinite.  相似文献
