A new oxide, Bi14Sr21Fe12O61, with a layered structure derived from the 2212 modulated type structure Bi2Sr3Fe2O9, was isolated. It crystallizes in the I2 space group, with the following parameters: a=16.58(3) Å, b=5.496(1) Å, c=35.27(2) Å and β=90.62°. The single crystal X-ray structure determination, coupled with electron microscopy, shows that this ferrite is the m=5 member of the [Bi2Sr3Fe2O9]m[Bi4Sr6Fe2O16] collapsed family. This new collapsed structure can be described as slices of 2212 structure of five bismuth polyhedra thick along , shifted with respect to each other and interconnected by means of [Bi4Sr6Fe2O16] slices. The latter are the place of numerous defects like iron or strontium for bismuth substitution; they can be correlated to intergrowth defects with other members of the family.  相似文献

Bi6.4Pb0.6P2O15.2 is a polymorph of structures with the general stoichiometry Bi6+xM1−xP2O15+y. However, unlike previously published structures that consist of layers formed by edge sharing OBi4 tetrahedra bridged by PO4 and TO6 (T=transition metal) tetrahedra and octahedra the title compound's structure is more complex. It is monoclinic, C2, a=19.4698(4) Å, b=11.3692(3) Å, c=16.3809(5) Å, β=101.167(1)°, Z=10. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction data were refined by least squares on F2 converging to R1=0.0387, wR2=0.0836 for 7023 intensities. The crystal twins by mirror reflection across (001) as the twin plane and twin component 1 equals 0.74(1). Oxygen ions are in tetrahedral coordination to four metal ions and the O(BiPb)4 units share corners to form layers that are part of the three-dimensional framework. Eight oxygen ions form a cube around the two crystallographically independent Pb ions. Pb-O bond lengths vary from 2.265(14) to 2.869(14) Å. Pairs of such cubes share an edge to form a Pb3O20 unit. The two oxygen ions from the unshared edges are part of irregular Bi polyhedra. Other oxygen ions of Bi polyhedra are part only of O(BiPb)4 units, and some oxygen ions of the polyhedra are also part of PO4 tetrahedra. One, two, three and or four PO4 moieties are connected to the Bi polyhedra. Bi-O bond lengths ?3.1 Å vary from 2.090(12) to 3.07(3) Å. The articulations of Pb cubes, Bi polyhedra and PO4 tetrahedra link into the three-dimensional structure.  相似文献

Two novel noncentrosymmetric borates oxides, MBi2B2O7 or MBi2O(BO3)2 (MCa, Sr), have been synthesized by solid-state reactions in air at temperatures in the 600-700 °C range. Their crystal structures have been determined ab initio and refined using powder neutron diffraction data. CaBi2B2O7 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pna21 space group with a=8.9371(5) Å, b=5.4771(3) Å, c=12.5912(7) Å, Z=4, Rwp=0.118, χ2=2.30. SrBi2B2O7 crystallizes in the hexagonal P63 space group with a=9.1404(4) Å, c=13.0808(6) Å, Z=6, Rwp=0.115, χ2=4.15. Large displacement parameters suggest the presence of disorder in SrBi2B2O7 as also revealed by diffuse 2×a superstructure reflections in electron diffraction patterns. Both structures are built of identical (001) neutral layers of corner-sharing BO3 triangles and MO6 trigonal prisms forming six-membered rings in which Bi2O groups are located. Adjacent layers are stacked in a staggered configuration and connected through weak Bi-O bonds. A moderate efficiency for second harmonic generation (SHG) has been measured for a powder sample of CaBi2B2O7 (deff=2deff(KDP)).  相似文献

The basic mercury(I) chromate(VI), Hg6Cr2O9 (=2Hg2CrO4·Hg2O), has been obtained under hydrothermal conditions (200 °C, 5 days) in the form of orange needles as a by-product from reacting elemental mercury and K2Cr2O7. Hydrothermal treatment of microcrystalline Hg6Cr2O9 in demineralised water at 200 °C for 3 days led to crystal growth of red crystals of the basic mercury(I, II) chromate(VI), Hg6Cr2O10 (=2Hg2CrO4·2HgO). The crystal structures were solved and refined from single crystal X-ray data sets. Hg6Cr2O9: space group P212121, Z=4, a=7.3573(12), b=8.0336(13), , 3492 structure factors, 109 parameters, R[F2>2σ(F2)]=0.0371, wR(F2 all)=0.0517; Hg6Cr2O10: space group Pca21, Z=4, a=11.4745(15), b=9.4359(12), , 3249 structure factors, 114 parameters, R[F2>2σ(F2)]=0.0398, wR(F2 all)=0.0625. Both crystal structures are made up of an intricate mercury-oxygen network, subdivided into single building blocks [O-Hg-Hg-O] for the mercurous compound, and [O-Hg-Hg-O] and [O-Hg-O] for the mixed-valent compound. Hg6Cr2O9 contains three different Hg22+ dumbbells, whereas Hg6Cr2O10 contains two different Hg22+ dumbbells and two Hg2+ cations. The HgI-HgI distances are characteristic and range between 2.5031(15) and 2.5286(9) Å. All Hg22+ groups exhibit an unsymmetrical oxygen environment. The oxygen coordination of the Hg2+ cations is nearly linear with two tightly bonded O atoms at distances around 2.07 Å. For both structures, the chromate(VI) anions reside in the vacancies of the Hg-O network and deviate only slightly from the ideal tetrahedral geometry with average Cr-O distances of ca. 1.66 Å. Upon heating at temperatures above 385 °C, Hg6Cr2O9 decomposes in a four-step mechanism with Cr2O3 as the end-product at temperatures above 620 °C.  相似文献

The paper presents a new data on the crystal structure, thermal expansion and IR spectra of Bi3B5O12. The Bi3B5O12 single crystals were grown from the melt of the same stoichiometry by Czochralski technique. The crystal structure of Bi3B5O12 was refined in anisotropic approximation using single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. It is orthorhombic, Pnma, a=6.530(4), b=7.726(5), c=18.578(5) Å, V=937.2(5) Å3, Z=4, R=3.45%. Bi3+ atoms have irregular coordination polyhedra, Bi(1)O6 (d(B-O)=2.09-2.75 Å) and Bi(2)O7 (d(B-O)=2.108-2.804 Å). Taking into account the shortest bonds only, these polyhedra are considered here as trigonal Bi(1)O3 (2.09-2.20 Å) and tetragonal Bi(2)O4 (2.108-2.331 Å) irregular pyramids with Bi atoms in the tops of both pyramids. The BiO4 polyhedra form zigzag chains along b-axis. These chains alternate with isolated anions [B2IVB3IIIO11]7− through the common oxygen atoms to form thick layers extended in ab plane. A perfect cleavage of the compound corresponds to these layers and an imperfect one is parallel to the Bi-O chains. The Bi3B5O12 thermal expansion is sharply anisotropic (α11α22=12, α33=3×10−6 °C−1) likely due to a straightening of the flexible zigzag chains along b-axis and decreasing of their zigzag along c-axis. Thus the properties like cleavage and thermal expansion correlate to these chains.  相似文献

This paper reports about two new hydrogen-containing rare-earth oxoborates RE4B6O14(OH)2 (RE=Dy, Ho) synthesized under high-pressure/high-temperature conditions from the corresponding rare-earth oxides, boron oxide, and water using a Walker-type multianvil equipment at 8 GPa and 880 °C. The single crystal structure determination of Dy4B6O14(OH)2 showed: Pbcn, a=1292.7(2), b=437.1(2), , Z=2, R1=0.0190, and wR2=0.0349 (all data). The isotypic holmium species revealed: Pbcn, a=1292.8(2), b=436.2(2), , Z=2, R1=0.0206, and wR2=0.0406 (all data). The compounds exhibit a new type of structure, which is built up from layers of condensed BO4-tetrahedra. Between the layers, the rare-earth cations are coordinated by 7+2 oxygen atoms. Furthermore, we report about temperature-resolved in situ powder diffraction measurements, DTA/TG, and IR-spectroscopic investigations into RE4B6O14(OH)2 (RE=Dy, Ho).  相似文献

Subsolidus phase relationships in the In2O3-WO3 system at 800-1400°C were investigated using X-ray diffraction. Two binary-oxide phases—In6WO12 and In2(WO4)3—were found to be stable over the range 800-1200°C. Heating the binary-oxide phases above 1200°C resulted in the preferential volatilization of WO3. Rietveld refinement was performed on three structures using X-ray diffraction data from nominally phase-pure In6WO12 at room temperature and from nominally phase-pure In2(WO4)3 at 225°C and 310°C. The indium-rich phase, In6WO12, is rhombohedral, space group (rhombohedral), with Z=1, a=6.22390(4) Å, α=99.0338(2)° [hexagonal axes: aH=9.48298(6) Å, c=8.94276(6) Å, aH/c=0.9430(9)]. In6WO12 can be viewed as an anion-deficient fluorite structure in which 1/7 of the fluorite anion sites are vacant. Indium tungstate, In2(WO4)3, undergoes a monoclinic-orthorhombic transition around 250°C. The high-temperature polymorph is orthorhombic, space group Pnca, with a=9.7126(5) Å, b=13.3824(7) Å, c=9.6141(5) Å, and Z=4. The low-temperature polymorph is monoclinic, space group P21/a, with a=16.406(2) Å, b=9.9663(1) Å, c=19.099(2) Å, β=125.411(2)°, and Z=8. The structures of the two In2(WO4)3 polymorphs are similar, consisting of a network of corner sharing InO6 octahedra and WO4 tetrahedra.  相似文献

The crystal structures of Bi2.5Na0.5Ta2O9 and Bi2.5Nam-1.5NbmO3m+3 (m=3,4) have been investigated by the Rietveld analysis of their neutron powder diffraction patterns (λ=1.470 Å). These compounds belong to the Aurivillius phase family and are built up by (Bi2O2)2+ fluorite layers and (Am-1BmO3m+1)2- (m=2-4) pseudo-perovskite slabs. Bi2.5Na0.5Ta2O9 (m=2) and Bi2.5Na2.5Nb4O15 (m=4) crystallize in the orthorhombic space group A21am, Z=4, with lattice constants of a=5.4763(4), b=5.4478(4), c=24.9710 (15) and a=5.5095(5), b=5.4783(5), c=40.553(3) Å, respectively. Bi2.5Na1.5Nb3O12 (m=3) has been refined in the orthorhombic space group B2cb, Z=4, with the unit-cell parameters a=5.5024(7), b=5.4622(7), and c=32.735(4) Å. In comparison with its isostructural Nb analogue, the structure of Bi2.5Na0.5Ta2O9 is less distorted and bond valence sum calculations indicate that the Ta-O bonds are somewhat stronger than the Nb-O bonds. The cell parameters a and b increase with increasing m for the compounds Bi2.5Nam-1.5NbmO3m+3 (m=2-4), causing a greater strain in the structure. Electron microscopy studies verify that the intergrowth of mixed perovskite layers, caused by stacking faults, also increases with increasing m.  相似文献

Single crystals of the LiCoO2-LiAlO2 solid solution compounds LiAl0.32Co0.68O2 and LiAl0.71Co0.29O2 were synthesized by a flux method using alumina crucibles. A single-crystal X-ray diffraction study confirmed the trigonal space group and the lattice parameters a=2.8056(11) Å, c=14.1079(15) Å, and c/a=5.028 for LiAl0.32Co0.68O2, and a=2.8023(7) Å, c=14.184(4) Å, and c/a=5.061 for LiAl0.71Co0.29O2. The crystal structures have been refined to the conventional values R=3.2% and wR=2.4% for LiAl0.32Co0.68O2, and R=3.6% and wR=3.5% for LiAl0.71Co0.29O2. The evidence of the location of Al atoms in the pseudotetragonal coordination (6c site), reported previously in LiAl0.2Co0.8O2, could not be observed in the present electron density distribution maps in both LiAl0.32Co0.68O2 and LiAl0.71Co0.29O2. The octahedral distortion analysis indicated that the Al-substitution strongly affected the distortion of the LiO6 octahedron in this solid-solution compound system, but hardly affected that of the (Al.Co)O6 octahedron.  相似文献

A new compound, Li4CaB2O6, has been synthesized by solid-state reaction and its structure has been determined from powder X-ray diffraction data by direct methods. The refinement was carried out using the Rietveld methods and the final refinement converged with Rp=10.4%, Rwp=14.2%, Rexp=4.97%. This compound belongs to the orthorhombic space group Pnnm, with lattice parameters a=9.24036(9) Å, b=8.09482(7) Å, and c=3.48162(4) Å. Fundamental building units are isolated [BO3]3− anionic groups, which are all parallel to the a-b plane stacked along the c-axis. The Ca atoms are six-coordinated by the O atoms to form octahedral coordination polyhedra, which are joined together through edges along the c-axis, forming infinitely long three-dimensional chains. The Li atoms have a four-fold and a five-fold coordination with O atoms that lead to complex Li-O-Li chains that also extend along the c-axis. The infrared spectrum of Li4CaB2O6 was also studied, which is consistent with the crystallographic study.  相似文献

Powder samples of the Cr6+-containing compound Bi6Cr2O15 were prepared by solid state reaction of Bi2O3 and Cr2O3 in air at 650°C. The structure was solved and refined using high-resolution neutron powder diffraction data in space group Ccc2, with anisotropic thermal displacement parameters a=12.30184(5), b=19.87492(7), and c=5.88162(2) Å, V=1438.0 Å3, and 126 variables to RF=1.8%. Bi6Cr2O15 exhibits a new structure type that contains (Bi12O14)8n+n columns, of the kind previously found only for phases isotypic with Bi13Mo4VO34. Each column is surrounded by eight CrO2−4 tetrahedra. The ionic conductivity of Bi6Cr2O15 was determined by impedance measurements to be 3.5×10−5 (Ω cm)−1 at 600°C.  相似文献

Single crystals of Ca3CuRhO6, Ca3Co1.34Rh0.66O6 and Ca3FeRhO6 were synthesized by high temperature flux growth in molten K2CO3 and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. While Ca3Co1.34Rh0.66O6 and Ca3FeRhO6 crystallize with trigonal (rhombohedral) symmetry in the space group , Z=6: Ca3Co1.34Rh0.66O6a=9.161(1) Å, c=10.601(2) Å; Ca3FeRhO6a=9.1884(3) Å, c=10.7750(4) Å; Ca3CuRhO6 adopts a monoclinic distortion of the K4CdCl6 structure in the space group C2/c, Z=4: a=9.004(2) Å, b=9.218(2) Å, c=6.453(1) Å, β=91.672(5). All crystals of Ca3CuRhO6 examined were twinned by pseudo-merohedry. Ca3CuRhO6, Ca3Co1.34Rh0.66O6, and Ca3FeRhO6 are structurally related and contain infinite one-dimensional chains of alternating face-sharing RhO6 octahedra and MO6 trigonal prisms. In the monoclinic modification, the copper atoms are displaced from the center of the trigonal prism toward one of the rectangular faces adopting a pseudo-square planar configuration. The magnetic properties of Ca3CuRhO6, Ca3Co1.34Rh0.66O6, and Ca3FeRhO6 are discussed.  相似文献

Single crystals of K3RESi2O7 (RE=Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu) were grown from a potassium fluoride flux. Two different structure types were found for this series. Silicates containing the larger rare earths, RE=Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb crystallize in a structure K3RESi2O7 that contains the rare-earth cation in both a slightly distorted octahedral and an ideal trigonal prismatic coordination environment, while in K3LuSi2O7, containing the smallest of the rare earths, lutetium is found solely in an octahedral coordination environment. The structure of K3LuSi2O7 crystallizes in space group P63/mmc with a=5.71160(10) Å and c=13.8883(6) Å. The structures containing the remaining rare earths crystallize in the space group P63/mcm with the lattice parameters of a=9.9359(2) Å, c=14.4295(4) Å, (K3GdSi2O7); a=9.88730(10) Å, c=14.3856(3) Å, (K3TbSi2O7); a=9.8673(2) Å, c=14.3572(4) Å, (K3DySi2O7); a=9.8408(3) Å, c=14.3206(6) Å, (K3HoSi2O7); a=9.82120(10) Å, c=14.2986(2) Å, (K3ErSi2O7); a=9.80200(10) Å, c=14.2863(4) Å, (K3TmSi2O7); a=9.78190(10) Å, c=14.2401(3) Å, (K3YbSi2O7). The optical properties of the silicates were investigated and K3TbSi2O7 was found to fluoresce in the visible.  相似文献

The compound previously reported as Ba2Ti2B2O9 has been reformulated as Ba3Ti3B2O12, or Ba3Ti3O6(BO3)2, a new barium titanium oxoborate. Small single crystals have been recovered from a melt with a composition of BaTiO3:BaTiB2O6 (molar ratio) cooled between 1100°C and 850°C. The crystal structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction: hexagonal system, non-centrosymmetric space group, a=8.7377(11) Å, c=3.9147(8) Å, Z=1, wR(F2)=0.039 for 504 unique reflections. Ba3Ti3O6(BO3)2 is isostructural with K3Ta3O6(BO3)2. Preliminary measurements of nonlinear optical properties on microcrystalline samples show that the second harmonic generation efficiency of Ba3Ti3O6(BO3)2 is equal to 95% of that of LiNbO3.  相似文献

The anion-excess ordered fluorite-related phase Ba4Bi3F17 has been synthesized by a solid state reaction of BaF2 and BiF3 at 873 K. The crystal structure of Ba4Bi3F17 has been studied using electron diffraction and X-ray powder diffraction (a=11.2300(2) Å, c=20.7766(5) Å, S.G. , RI=0.020, RP=0.036). Interstitial fluorine atoms in the Ba4Bi3F17 structure are considered to form isolated cuboctahedral 8 : 12 : 1 clusters. The structural relationship between Ba4Bi3F17 and similar rare-earth-based phases is discussed.  相似文献

High-pressure synthesis experiments in the system Na2O-Y2O3-SiO2 revealed the existence of a previously unknown polymorph of NaYSi2O6 or Na3Y3[Si3O9]2 which was quenched from 3.0 GPa and 1000 °C. Structural investigations on this modification have been performed using single-crystal X-ray diffraction data collected at ambient conditions. Furthermore, unpolarized micro-Raman spectra have been obtained from single-crystal material. The high-P modification of NaYSi2O6 crystallizes in the centrosymmetric space group C2/c with 12 formula units per cell (a=8.2131(9) Å, b=10.3983(14) Å, c=17.6542(21) Å, β=100.804(9)°, V=1481.0(3) Å3, R(|F|)=0.033 for 1142 independent observed reflections) and belongs to the group of cyclo-silicates. Basic building units are isolated three-membered [Si3O9] rings located in layers parallel to (010). Within a single layer the rings are concentrated in strings parallel to [100]. The sequence of directedness of up (U) or down (D) pointing tetrahedra of a single ring is UUU or DDD, respectively. Stacking of the layers parallel to b results in the formation of a three-dimensional structure in which yttrium and sodium cations are incorporated for charge compensation. In more detail, four non-tetrahedral cation positions can be differentiated which are coordinated by 6 and 8 oxygen ligands. Refinements of the site occupancies did not reveal any indication for mixed Na-Y populations on these positions. Finally, several geometrical parameters of rings occurring in cyclo-trisilicate structures have been compiled and are discussed.  相似文献

Phase transitions in the elpasolite-type K3AlF6 complex fluoride were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry, electron diffraction and X-ray powder diffraction. Three phase transitions were identified with critical temperatures , and . The α-K3AlF6 phase is stable below T1 and crystallizes in a monoclinic unit cell with a=18.8588(2)Å, b=34.0278(2)Å, c=18.9231(1)Å, β=90.453(1)° (a=2accc, b=4bc, c=ac+2cc; ac, bc, cc—the basic lattice vectors of the face-centered cubic elpasolite structure) and space group I2/a or Ia. The intermediate β phase exists only in very narrow temperature interval between T1 and T2. The γ polymorph is stable in the T2<T<T3 temperature range and has an orthorhombic unit cell with a=36.1229(6)Å, b=17.1114(3)Å, c=12.0502(3)Å (a=3ac−3cc, b=2bc, c=ac+cc) at 250 °C and space group Fddd. Above T3 the cubic δ polymorph forms with ac=8.5786(4)Å at 400 °C and space group . The similarity between the K3AlF6 and K3MoO3F3 compounds is discussed.  相似文献

The structure of Cu2Fe2Ge4O13, previously thought to be CuFeGe2O6, has been determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data to be monoclinic, P21/m, a=12.1050(6), b=8.5073(4), c=4.8736(2) Å, β=96.145(1)°, Z=2, with R1=0.0231 and wR2=0.0605. The unique structure has an oligomer of four germanate tetrahedra, cross-linked laterally by square-planar copper ions, joined end-to-end by a zigzag chain of edge-sharing iron oxide octahedra. Running along the a-direction the metal oxide chain consists of alternating Cu-Cu and Fe-Fe dimers. A hypothetical series of homologous structures (Cun−2Fe2GenO3n+1 with n=3,4,…,∞) with different length germanate oligomers is proposed, where as n increases, the infinite chain of the CuGeO3 is approached. In this context, Cu2Fe2Ge4O13 is viewed as being built from blocks of CuGeO3 and the Fe oxide chains. This material has significance to the study of low-dimensional mixed-spin systems.  相似文献

Crystal structure of BaMg2Si2O7 was determined and refined by a combined powder X-ray and neutron Rietveld method (monoclinic, C2/c, no. 15, Z=8, a=7.24553(8) Å, b=12.71376(14) Å, c=13.74813(15) Å, β=90.2107(8)°, V=1266.44(2) Å3; Rp/Rwp=3.38%/4.77%). The structure contains a single crystallographic type of Ba atom coordinated to eight O atoms with C1 (1) site symmetry. Under 325-nm excitation Ba0.98Eu0.02Mg2Si2O7 exhibits an asymmetric emission band around 402 nm. The asymmetric shape of the emission band is likely associated with a small electron-phonon coupling in BaMg2Si2O7. The integrated intensity of the emission band was observed to remain constant over the temperature range 4.2-300 K.  相似文献

Subsolidus phase relations have been determined for the Bi2O3-Fe2O3-Nb2O5 system in air (900-1075 °C). Three new ternary phases were observed—Bi3Fe0.5Nb1.5O9 with an Aurivillius-type structure, and two phases with approximate stoichiometries Bi17Fe2Nb31O106 and Bi17Fe3Nb30O105 that appear to be structurally related to Bi8Nb18O57. The fourth ternary phase found in this system is pyrochlore (A2B2O6O′), which forms an extensive solid solution region at Bi-deficient stoichiometries (relative to Bi2FeNbO7) suggesting that ≈4-15% of the A-sites are occupied by Fe3+. X-ray powder diffraction data confirmed that all Bi-Fe-Nb-O pyrochlores form with positional displacements, as found for analogous pyrochlores with Zn, Mn, or Co instead of Fe. A structural refinement of the pyrochlore 0.4400:0.2700:0.2900 Bi2O3:Fe2O3:Nb2O5 using neutron powder diffraction data is reported with the A cations displaced (0.43 Å) to 96g sites and O′ displaced (0.29 Å) to 32e sites (Bi1.721Fe0.190(Fe0.866Nb1.134)O7, Fdm (#227), ). This displacive model is somewhat different from that reported for Bi1.5Zn0.92Nb1.5O6.92, which exhibits twice the concentration of small B-type cations on the A-sites as the Fe system. Bi-Fe-Nb-O pyrochlores exhibited overall paramagnetic behavior with large negative Curie-Weiss temperature intercepts, slight superparamagnetic effects, and depressed observed moments compared to high-spin, spin-only values. The single-phase pyrochlore with composition Bi1.657Fe1.092Nb1.150O7 exhibited low-temperature dielectric relaxation similar to that observed for Bi1.5Zn0.92Nb1.5O6.92; at 1 MHz and 200 K the relative permittivity was 125, and above 350 K conductive effects were observed.  相似文献
