The wave propagation in an infinite, homogeneous, transversely isotropic solid cylinder of arbitrary cross-section is studied using Fourier expansion collocation method, within the frame work of linearized, three-dimensional theory of thermoelasticity. Three displacement potential functions are introduced, to uncouple the equations of motion and the heat conduction. The frequency equations are obtained for longitudinal and flexural (symmetric and antisymmetric) modes of vibration and are studied numerically for elliptic and parabolic cross-sectional zinc cylinders. The computed non-dimensional wave numbers are presented in the form of dispersion curves.  相似文献

In this article, the wave propagation in a generalized thermoelastic solid cylinder of arbitrary cross-section is discussed, using the Fourier expansion collocation method. The solid medium is assumed to be linear, isotropic, and dependent on the rate of temperature. Three displacement potential functions are introduced, to uncouple the equations of motion and the heat conduction. By imposing the continuity conditions the frequency equation corresponding to the problem is obtained using the Fourier expansion collocation method based on Suhubi’s generalized theory [Suhubi, E.S., 1975. Thermoelastic Solids. In: Eringen, A.C. (Ed.), Continuum Physics, vol. 2. Academic, New York, Chapter 2]. To compare the model with the existing literature, the results of a generalized thermoelastic solid cylinder are obtained and they are compared with the results of Erbay and Suhubi [Erbay, E.S., Suhubi, E.S., 1986. Longitudinal wavepropagationed thermoelastic cylinder. J. Thermal Stresses 9, 279–295]. It shows very good degree of agreement. The computed non-dimensional wavenumbers are presented in figures for various values of the material parameters. The general theory can be used to study any kind of cylinders with proper geometrical relations.  相似文献

The problem of free vibrations of a solid cylinder with different boundary conditions is solved using the three-dimensional theory of elasticity and a numerical analytic approach. The spline-approximation and collocation methods are used to reduce the partial differential equations of elasticity to systems of ordinary differential equations of high order with respect to the radial coordinate. These equations are solved by stable numerical discrete orthogonalization and incremental search. Calculated results are presented for transversely isotropic and inhomogeneous materials of the cylinder and for several types of boundary conditions at its ends  相似文献

The paper studies the problem of fluid flow and fluid shear stress in canaliculi when the osteon is subject to external mechanical loading and blood pressure oscillation. The single osteon is modeled as a saturated poroelastic cylinder. Solid skeleton is regarded as a poroelastic transversely isotropic material. To get near-realistic results, both the interstitial fluid and the solid matrix are regarded as compressible. Blood pressure oscillation in the Haverian canal is considered. Using the poroelasticity theory, an analytical solution of the pore fluid pressure is obtained. Assuming the fluid in canaliculi is incompressible, analytical solutions of fluid flow velocity and fluid shear stress with the Navier-Stokes equations of incompressible fluid are obtained. The effect of various parameters on the fluid flow velocity and fluid shear stress is studied.  相似文献

严格从三维横观各向同性材料弹性空间问题的Green函数出发,采用Hadamard有限部积分概念,导出了三维状态下单位位移间断(位错)集度的基本解.在此基础上,将三维任意形状的片状裂纹问题归结为求解-组以未知位移间断表示的超奇异积分方程;并给出了边界元离散形式.对方程中出现的超奇异积分,采用了Had-alnard定义的有限部积分来处理.论文最后给出了若干典型片状裂纹问题的数值算例,数值结果表明了本文方法是非常有效的.  相似文献

It is known that a high degree of anisotropy in the constitutive behaviour of a solid may result in the loss of hyperbolicity of the dynamic equations in the form of either complex-conjugate or purely imaginary characteristic wave speeds (flutter ill-posedness and shear band formation, respectively). In the present paper we investigate the characteristic wave speeds in the dynamic problem for a transversely isotropic fluid-saturated porous solid. Three cases are considered: a dry solid and a saturated solid under locally undrained and drained conditions. It is shown that, for given constitutive parameters of the solid skeleton, the dynamic problem for a drained solid may become ill-posed due to the flutter-type loss of hyperbolicity, while the dynamic equations for a dry and an undrained solids remain hyperbolic. For a given solid skeleton, the characteristic wave speeds are strongly influenced by the pore fluid compressibility which, in turn, is extremely sensitive to the presence of a small amount of free gas.  相似文献

Consider a cylinder (not necessarily of circular cross-section) that is composed of a hyperelastic material and which is stretched parallel to its axis of symmetry. Suppose that the elastic material that constitutes the cylinder is homogeneous, transversely isotropic, and incompressible and that the deformed length of the cylinder is prescribed, the ends of the cylinder are free of shear, and the sides are left completely free. In this paper it is shown that mild additional constitutive hypotheses on the stored-energy function imply that the unique absolute minimizer of the elastic energy for this problem is a homogeneous, isoaxial deformation. This extends recent results that show the same result is valid in 2-dimensions. Prior work on this problem had been restricted to a local analysis: in particular, it was previously known that homogeneous deformations are strict (weak) relative minimizers of the elastic energy as long as the underlying linearized equations are strongly elliptic and provided that the load/displacement curve in this class of deformations does not possess a maximum.  相似文献

This paper models the cyclic stress softening of an elastomer in compression. After the initial compression the material is described as being transversely isotropic. We derive non-linear transversely isotropic constitutive equations for the elastic response, stress relaxation, residual strain, and creep of residual strain in order to model accurately the inelastic features associated with cyclic stress softening. These equations are combined with a transversely isotropic version of the Arruda–Boyce eight-chain model to develop a constitutive relation that is capable of accurately representing the Mullins effect during cyclic stress softening for a transversely isotropic, hyperelastic material, in particular a carbon-filled rubber vulcanizate. To establish the validity of the model we compare it with two test samples, one for filled vulcanized styrene–butadiene rubber and the other for filled vulcanized natural rubber. The model is found to fit this experimental data extremely well.  相似文献

为了得到精确的应力场、位移场、温度场,将扭转圆轴的精化理论研究方法推广到轴对称横观各向同性热弹性圆柱。利用Bessel函数以及轴对称横观各向同性热弹性圆柱的通解,给出了轴对称横观各向同性热弹性圆柱的分解定理。根据柱面齐次边界条件获得了精确的精化方程,精化方程可以分解为一阶方程、超越方程、温度方程,从而将横观各向同性热弹性圆柱的轴对称问题分解为轴向拉压问题、超越问题、热-应力耦合问题。超越部分对应端部自平衡情况,可以清晰地了解到端部应力分布对内部应力场的影响,热-应力耦合部分对应无外加应力场时圆柱内部因温度变化引起的热应力。  相似文献

研究了半无限长轴对称压电-压磁夹层结构的圆柱体圣维南端部效应的衰减问题。圆柱的端部承受自平衡磁电弹载荷;圆柱的内外表面为机械自由表面,但承受不同的电磁边界条件,即电学短路或电学开路及磁学短路或磁学开路边界条件。基于横贯各向同性压电或压磁材料在轴对称圆柱坐标系下的本构方程,推导了关于衰减率的特征方程并求得问题的数值解。结果表明,边界条件、内外径之比、材料厚度比对结构的衰减率都有显著的影响。  相似文献

In this article, the governing equations of motion of thick laminated transversely isotropic plates are derived based on Reddy’s third-order shear deformation theory. These equations are exactly converted to four uncoupled equations to study the in-plane and out-of-plane free vibrations of thick laminated plates without any usage of approximate methods. Based on the present analytical approach, exact Levy-type solutions are obtained for thick laminated transversely isotropic plates and, for some boundary conditions, the exact characteristic equations hitherto not reported in the literature are given. Also, the in-plane and out-of-plane deformed mode shapes are plotted for different boundary conditions. The present solutions can accurately predict both the in-plane and out-of-plane natural frequencies and mode shapes of thick laminated transversely isotropic plates.  相似文献

In this paper, the problem of a crack embedded in a half-plane piezoelectric solid with traction-induction free boundary is analyzed. A system of singular integral equations is formulated for the materials with general anisotropic piezoelectric properties and for the crack with arbitrary orientation. The kernel functions developed are in complex form for general anisotropic piezoelectric materials and are then specialized to the case of transversely isotropic piezoelectric materials which are in real form. The obtained coupled mechanical and electric real kernel functions may be reduced to those kernel functions for purely elastic problems when the electric effects disappear. The system of singular integral equations is solved numerically and the coupling effects of the mechanical and electric phenomena are presented by the generalized stress intensity factors for transversely isotropic piezoelectric materials.  相似文献

This paper deals with closed-form solutions for in-plane and out-of-plane free vibration of moderately thick laminated transversely isotropic spherical shell panels on the basis of Sanders theory without any usage of approximate methods. The governing equations of motion and the boundary conditions are derived using Hamilton’s principle. The highly coupled governing equations are recast to some uncoupled equations by introducing four potential functions. Also, some relations were presented for the unknowns of the original set of equations in terms of the unknowns of the uncoupled equations. According to the proposed analytical approach, both Navier and Lévy-type explicit solutions are developed for moderately thick laminated spherical shell panels. The efficiency and high accuracy of the present approach are investigated by comparing some of the present study with the available results in the literature and the results of 3D finite element method. The effects of various shell parameters like shear modulus ratio of transversely isotropic materials and curvature ratio on the natural frequencies are studied. Clearly, the proposed solutions can accurately predict the in-plane and out-of-plane natural frequencies of moderately thick transversely isotropic spherical shell panels.  相似文献

In the framework of the theory of mixtures, the governing equations of motion of a fluid-saturated poroelastic medium including microstructural (for both the solid and the fluid) and micro-inertia (for the solid) effects are derived. This is accomplished by appropriately combining the conservation of mass and linear momentum equations with the constitutive equations for both the solid and the fluid constituents. The solid is assumed to be gradient elastic, that is, its stress tensor depends on the strain and the second gradient of strain tensor. The fluid is assumed to have an analogous behavior, that is, its stress tensor depends on the pressure and the second gradient of pressure. A micro-inertia term in the form of the second gradient of the acceleration of the solid is also included in the equations of motion. The equations of motion in three dimensions are seven equations with seven unknowns, the six displacement components for the solid and the fluid and the pore-fluid pressure. Because of the microstructural effects, the order of these equations is two degrees higher than in the classical case. Application of the divergence and the rot operations on these equations enable one to study the propagation of plane harmonic waves in the infinitely extended medium separately in the form of dilatational and rotational dispersive waves. The effects of the microstructure and the micro-inertia on the dispersion curves are determined and discussed.  相似文献

This article deals with the various heat source responses in a transversely isotropic hollow cylinder under the purview of three-phase-lag (TPL) generalized thermoelasticity theory. In presence of magnetic field and due to the rotating behavior of the cylinder, the governing equations are redefined for generalized thermoelasticity with thermal time delay. In order to obtain the stress, displacement and temperature field, the field functions are expressed in terms of modified Bessel functions in Laplace transformed domain. When the outer radius of hollow cylinder tends to infinity, the corresponding results are discussed. Finally an appropriate Laplace transform inversion technique is adopted.  相似文献

In this paper, we are interested in developing constitutive equations for fiber-reinforced nonlinearly viscoelastic bodies, in particular for transversely isotropic nonlinearly viscoelastic solids. It follows from results in the theory of algebraic invariants that constitutive equations for such materials can be expressed in terms of functions of 18 independent invariants associated with deformation and fiber orientation. These invariants are analyzed, and we obtain restrictions such as positivity of some of them.  相似文献
