Let R be an associated ring not necessarily with identity, M a left R-module having the property (F), and (S, ≤) a strictly totally ordered monoid which is also artinian and finitely generated. It is shown that the module [M S,≤] consisting of generalized inverse polynomials over M is an artinian left [[R S,≤]]-module if and only if M is an artinian left R-module.  相似文献

PP-Rings of Generalized Power Series   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6
Abstract As a generalization of power series rings, Ribenboim introduced the notion of the rings of generalized power series. Let R be a commutative ring, and (S, ≤) a strictly totally ordered monoid. We prove that (1) the ring [[R S,≤]] of generalized power series is a PP-ring if and only if R is a PP-ring and every S-indexed subset C of B(R) (the set of all idempotents of R) has a least upper bound in B(R) and (2) if (S, ≤) also satisfies the condition that 0 ≤s for any sS, then the ring [[R S,≤ ]] is weakly PP if and only if R is weakly PP. For a ring R and a right R-module M, a submodule N of M is said to be δ-small in M if, whenever N+X=M with M/X singular, we have X=M. Let ℘ be the class of all singular simple modules. Then δ(M)=Σ{ LM| L is a δ-small submodule of M} = Re jm(℘)=∩{ NM: M/N∈℘. We call M δ-coatomic module whenever NM and M/N=δ(M/N) then M/N=0. And R is called right (left) δ-coatomic ring if the right (left) R-module R R(RR) is δ-coatomic. In this note, we study δ-coatomic modules and ring. We prove M=⊕ i=1 n Mi is δ-coatomic if and only if each M i (i=1,…, n) is δ-coatomic.  相似文献

Let U be a flat right R-module and N an infinite cardinal number.A left R-module M is said to be (N,U)-coherent if every finitely generated submodule of every finitely generated M-projective module in σ[M] is (N,U)-finitely presented in σ[M].It is proved under some additional conditions that a left R-module M is (N,U)-coherent if and only if Л^Ni∈I U is M-flat as a right R-module if and only if the (N,U)-coherent dimension of M is equal to zero.We also give some characterizations of left (N,U)-coherent dimension of rings and show that the left N-coherent dimension of a ring R is the supremum of (N,U)-coherent dimensions of R for all flat right R-modules U.  相似文献

A right R-module M is called co-Hopfian if injective endomorphisms of M R are surjective. It is shown that E(M R ) is co-Hopfian if and only if M R does not contain an infinite direct sum ?i ? \mathbbNWi{{\oplus_{i \in \mathbb{N}}W_{i}}} of submodules such that each W i+1 essentially embeds in W i . For many modules M R , including modules over a right FBN or right duo ring with Krull dimension, it is proved that E(M R ) is co-Hopfian if and only if (\mathbbN){(\mathbb{N})} ↪̸ M R for every non-zero X R . For a ring which has enough uniforms, the class of modules with co-Hopfian injective envelope is the same as the class of modules with finite uniform dimension if and only if there are only finitely many isomorphism classes of indecomposable injective modules.  相似文献

We carry out an extensive study of modules M R with the property that M/f(M) is singular for all injective endomorphisms f of M. Such modules called “quasi co-Hopfian”, generalize co-Hopfian modules. It is shown that a ring R is semisimple if and only if every quasi co-Hopfian R-module is co-Hopfian. Every module contains a unique largest fully invariant quasi co-Hopfian submodule. This submodule is determined for some modules including the semisimple ones. Over right nonsingular rings several equivalent conditions to being quasi co-Hopfian are given. Modules with all submodules quasi co-Hopfian are called “completely quasi co-Hopfian” (cqcH). Over right nonsingular rings and over certain right Noetherian rings, it is proved that every finite reduced rank module is cqcH. For a right nonsingular ring which is right semi-Artinian (resp. right FBN) the class of cqcH modules is the same as the class of finite reduced rank modules if and only if there are only finitely many isomorphism classes of nonsingular R-modules which are simple (resp. indecomposable injective).  相似文献

A triangular matrix ring Λ is defined by a triplet (R,S,M) where R and S are rings and R M S is an S-R-bimodule. In the main theorem of this paper we show that if T S is a tilting S-module, then under certain homological conditions on the S-module M S , one can extend T S to a tilting complex over Λ inducing a derived equivalence between Λ and another triangular matrix ring specified by (S′, R, M′), where the ring S′ and the R-S′-bimodule M′ depend only on M and T S , and S′ is derived equivalent to S. Note that no conditions on the ring R are needed. These conditions are satisfied when S is an Artin algebra of finite global dimension and M S is finitely generated. In this case, (S′,R,M′) = (S, R, DM) where D is the duality on the category of finitely generated S-modules. They are also satisfied when S is arbitrary, M S has a finite projective resolution and Ext S n (M S , S) = 0 for all n > 0. In this case, (S′,R,M′) = (S, R, Hom S (M, S)).  相似文献

Let R be a commutative Noetherian local ring of dimension d, I an ideal of R, and M a finitely generated R-module. We prove that the set of associated primes of the local cohomology module H i I (M) is finite for all i≥ 0 in the following cases: (1) d≤ 3; (2) d= 4 and $R$ is regular on the punctured spectrum; (3) d= 5, R is an unramified regular local ring, and M is torsion-free. In addition, if $d>0$ then H d − 1 I (M) has finite support for arbitrary R, I, and M. Received: 31 October 2000 / Revised version: 8 January 2001  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with identity, let M be an R-module, and let K 1, . . . ,K n be submodules of M: We construct an algebraic object called the product of K 1, . . . ,K n : This structure is equipped with appropriate operations to get an R(M)-module. It is shown that the R(M)-module M n = M . . .M and the R-module M inherit some of the most important properties of each other. Thus, it is shown that M is a projective (flat) R-module if and only if M n is a projective (flat) R(M)-module.  相似文献

A finite module M over a noetherian local ring R is said to be Gorenstein if Exti(k, M) = 0 for all i ≠ dim R. An endomorphism φ: RR of rings is called contracting if for some i ≥ 1. Letting φR denote the R-module R with action induced by φ, we prove: A finite R-module M is Gorenstein if and only if HomR(φR, M) ≅ M and ExtiR(φR, M) = 0 for 1 ≤ i ≤ depth R. In this paper, we study Gorenstein injective modules over a local Noetherian ring R. For an R-module M, we show that M is Gorenstein injective if and only if Hom R (Ȓ,M) belongs to Auslander category B(Ȓ), M is cotorsion and Ext i R (E,M) = 0 for all injective R-modules E and all i > 0. We study the properties of ⊕-cofinitely radical supplemented modules, or, briefly, cgs -modules. It is shown that a module with summand sum property (SSP) is cgs if and only if M/w Loc M (w Loc M is the sum of all w-local direct summands of a module M) does not contain any maximal submodule, that every cofinite direct summand of a UC-extending cgs -module is cgs , and that, for any ring R, every free R-module is cgs if and only if R is semiperfect.  相似文献

On S-duo rings
A unital left R-module R M is said to have property (S) if every surjective endomorphism of R M is an automorphism, the ring R is called left (right) S-ring if every left (right) R-module with property (S) is Noetherian, R is called S-ring if it is both a left and a right S-ring. In this note we show that a duo ring is a left S-ring if and only if it is left Artinian left principal ideal ring. To do this we shall construct on every non distributive Artinian local ring with radical square zero a non-finitely generated module with property (S). And we give an example of left duo left Artinian left principal ideal ring which is not a left S-ring, showing the necessity of the ring to be duo in the above result.  相似文献

Let R be a ring, n a fixed nonnegative integer and FP n (F n ) the class of all left (right) R-modules of FP-injective (flat) dimensions at most n. A left R-module M (resp., right R-module F) is called n-FI-injective (resp., n-FI-flat) if Ext 1(N,M) = 0 (resp., Tor 1(F,N) = 0) for any NFP n . It is shown that a left R-module M over any ring R is n-FI-injective if and only if M is a kernel of an FP n -precover f: AB with A injective. For a left coherent ring R, it is proven that a finitely presented right R-module M is n-FI-flat if and only if M is a cokernel of an F n -preenvelope KF of a right R-module K with F projective if and only if M F n . These classes of modules are used to construct cotorsion theories and to characterize the global dimension of a ring.  相似文献

In this paper we study the possible orders of a non-abelian representation group of a slim dense near hexagon. We prove that if the representation group R of a slim dense near hexagon S is non-abelian, then R is a 2-group of exponent 4 and |R|=2 β , 1+NPdim(S)≤β≤1+dimV(S), where NPdim(S) is the near polygon embedding dimension of S and dimV(S) is the dimension of the universal representation module V(S) of S. Further, if β=1+NPdim(S), then R is necessarily an extraspecial 2-group. In that case, we determine the type of the extraspecial 2-group in each case. We also deduce that the universal representation group of S is a central product of an extraspecial 2-group and an abelian 2-group of exponent at most 4. This work was partially done when B.K. Let A, B be associative rings with identity, and (S, ≤) a strictly totally ordered monoid which is also artinian and finitely generated. For any bimodule A M B , we show that the bimodule [[ AS,≤ ]][M S ,≤][[ BS, ≤ ]] defines a Morita duality if and only if A M B defines a Morita duality and A is left noetherian, B is right noetherian. As a corollary, it is shown that the ring [[A S ,≤]] of generalized power series over A has a Morita duality if and only if A is a left noetherian ring with a Morita duality induced by a bimodule A M B such that B is right noetherian.  Let k be a subring of the field of rational functions in α, s which contains α ±1 ,s ±1 . Let M be a compact oriented 3-manifold, and let K(M) denote the Kauffman skein module of M over k. Then K(M) is the k-module freely generated by isotopy classes of framed links in M modulo the Kauffman skein relations. In the case of , the field of rational functions in α, s, we give a basis for the Kauffman skein module of the solid torus and a basis for the relative Kauffman skein module of the solid torus with two points on the boundary. We then show that K(S 1 × S 2 is freely generated by the empty link, i.e., . Received: 20 October 2001 / Revised version: 20 March 2002  相似文献

We establish an order-preserving bijective correspondence between the sets of coclosed elements of some bounded lattices related by suitable Galois connections. As an application, we deduce that if M is a finitely generated quasi-projective left R-module with S = End R (M) and N is an M-generated left R-module, then there exists an order-preserving bijective correspondence between the sets of coclosed left R-submodules of N and coclosed left S-submodules of Hom R (M, N).  相似文献

Let R be a ring. An R-module M is finitely annihilated if the annihilator of M is the annihilator of a finite subset of M. It is proved that if R has right socle S then the ring R/S is right Artinian if and only if every singular right R-module is finitely annihilated. Moreover, a right Noetherian ring R is right Artinian if and only if every uniform right R-module is finitely annihilated. In addition, a (right and left) Noetherian ring is (right and left) Artinian if and only if every injective right R-module is finitely annihilated.
