We study theoretically the transmission through a quantum dot molecule embedded in the arms of an Aharonov-Bohm four quantum dot ring threaded by a magnetic flux. The tunable molecular coupling provides a transmission pathway between the interferometer arms in addition to those along the arms. From a decomposition of the transmission in terms of contributions from paths, we show that antiresonances in the transmission arise from the interference of the self-energy along different paths and that application of a magnetic flux can produce the suppression of such antiresonances. The occurrence of a period of twice the quantum of flux arises at the opening of the transmission pathway through the dot molecule. Two different connections of the device to the leads are considered and their spectra of conductance are compared as a function of the tunable parameters of the model.  相似文献

We report experiments on the interference through spin states of electrons in a quantum dot (QD) embedded in an Aharonov-Bohm (AB) interferometer. We have picked up a spin-pair state, for which the environmental conditions are ideally similar. The AB amplitude is traced in a range of gate voltage that covers the pair. The behavior of the asymmetry in the amplitude around the two Coulomb peaks agrees with the theoretical prediction that the spin-flip process in a QD is related to the quantum dephasing of electrons. These results constitute evidence of "partial coherence" due to an entanglement of spins in the QD and in the interferometer.  相似文献

The commensurate photon-irradiated mesoscopic transport in a strongly correlated quantum dot (QD) embedded Aharonov-Bohm (AB) interferometer has been investigated. We focus our investigation on the dynamic Kondo and Fano cooperated effect affected by the double commensurate MWFs with q=ω2/ω1 being an arbitrary integer, where ω1 and ω2 are the two frequencies of the fields. The general tunneling current formula is derived by employing the nonequilibrium Green's function technique, and the different photon absorption and emission processes induced nonlinear properties have been studied to compare with the single-field system where q=0. Our numerical calculations are performed for the special cases with two commensurate fields possessing q=1,2. The Kondo peak can be suppressed to be a Kondo valley for the case where the commensurate number q=1, and the Fano asymmetric structure exhibits in the differential conductance quite evidently. Different commensurate number q contributes different photon absorption and emission effects. However, the conductance for the case of q=2 possesses more peaks and heavier asymmetric structure than the situations of q=0,1. The enhancement of satellite peaks behaves quite differently for the two cases with q=1, and q=2. The asymmetric peak-valley structure is adjusted by the gate voltage, commensurate MWFs, AB flux, source-drain bias, and non-resonant tunneling strength to form novel Fano and Kondo resonant tunneling.  相似文献

We consider a two-terminal Aharonov-Bohm (AB) interferometer with a quantum dot inserted in one path of the AB ring. We investigate the transport properties of this system in and out of the Kondo regime. We utilize perturbation theory to calculate the electron self-energy of the quantum dot with respect to the intradot Coulomb interaction. We show the expression of the Kondo temperature as a function of the AB phase together with its dependence on other characteristics such as the linewidth of the ring and the finite Coulomb interaction and the energy levels of the quantum dot. The current oscillates periodically as a function of the AB phase. The amplitude of the current oscillation decreases with increasing Coulomb interaction. For a given temperature, the electron transport through the AB interferometer can be selected to be in or out of the Kondo regime by changing the magnetic flux threading perpendicular to the AB ring of the system.  相似文献

This paper investigates the electronic transport properties in an Aharonov--Bohm interferometer with a quantum dot coupling to left and right electrodes. By employing cluster expansions, it transforms the equations of motion of Green's functions into the corresponding equation of motion of connected Green's functions, which provides a natural and uniform truncation scheme. With this method under the Lacroix's truncation approximation, it shows that the asymmetric line shape of zero bias conductance manifests itself as the Fano effect, and the Kondo effect has been observed in the narrow peak of differential conductance curve of the system. Our numerical results also show that the building of Fano state suppresses the amplitude of Kondo resonance.  相似文献

We have studied the transport properties of a ring-coupled quantum dot array driven by an AC magnetic field, which is connected to two leads, and we give the response of the transport current to the dynamical localization. We found that when the ratio of the magnetic flux to the total quantum dots number is a root of the zeroth order Bessel function, dynamical localization and collapse of quasi-energy occurs and importantly, the transport current displays a dip which is the signal of dynamical localization. The dynamical localization effect is strengthened as a result of the increase of the quantum dot number, and it is weakened on account of the increase of the dots-lead hopping rate.  相似文献

We investigate the dynamics of two interacting electrons confined in a quantum dot molecule under the influence of cosine squared electric fields. The conditions for two-electron localization in the same quantum dot are analytically derived within the frame of the Floquet formalism. The properties of quantum entanglement of the ground state in an exactly solvable model of a two-electron QD have been investigated. It is shown that the degree of entanglement increases with enhancement of interaction between electrons, irrespective of the shape of electron confining potential in a QD. A magnetic field destroys electron entanglement. However, the entanglement in deformed QDs is more stable against magnetic field.  相似文献

The electron transport through an Aharonov-Bohm (AB) interferometer with embedded four coupled quantum dots (QDs) is studied with the Green's function technique. The QDs are coupled to each other by the hopping integral tc. Two among them connect with the left lead and the other two with the right lead by the tunneling matrix element T which incorporates the effects of the applied magnetic field φ. The linear conductance spectra swap between the molecular levels and the atomic states by adjusting tc and T. Fano effect appears when the electrons tunnel through different channels contributed by different QDs energy levels, and the Fano resonance peaks split for large tc. The Fano factor can be manipulated by tc, T, φ, and the QD energy levels.  相似文献

We study the spin-polarized transport and Fano resonance in an Aharonov-Bohm (AB) interferometer with an embedded quantum dot, where the dot is irradiated by continuous circularly polarized light. Compared with the conventional Fano form, the resonance line shape is found to be deformed by the interplay between the external irradiation and the Coulomb repulsion. The Fano resonance peaks are split due to the shift of the effective energy level in the dot by Rabi oscillation of electron-heavy hole pairs. The direction and magnitude of spin current polarization can be modulated by the device parameters. Furthermore, the direct tunneling between two leads can induce a sharp sign reversal of spin polarization, the system thus operates as a rectifier for spin current polarization.  相似文献

设计一个两端线型双量子点分子Aharonov-Bohm (A-B)干涉仪. 采用非平衡格林函数技术, 理论研究无含时外场作用下的体系电导和引入含时外场作用下的体系平均电流. 在不考虑含时外场时, 调节点间耦合强度或磁通可以诱导电导共振峰劈裂. 控制穿过A-B干涉仪磁通的有无, 实现了共振峰电导数值在0与1之间的数字转换, 为制造量子开关提供了一个新的物理方案. 同时借助磁通和Rashba自旋轨道相互作用, 获得了自旋过滤. 当体系引入含时外场时, 平均电流曲线展示了旁带效应. 改变含时外场的振幅, 实现了体系平均电流的大小与位置的有效控制, 而调节含时外场的频率, 则可以实现平均电流峰与谷之间的可逆转换. 通过调节磁通与Rashba自旋轨道相互作用, 与自旋相关的平均电流亦得到有效控制. 研究结果为开发利用耦合多量子点链嵌入A-B 干涉仪体系电输运性质提供了新的认知. 上述结果可望对未来的量子器件设计与量子计算发挥重要的指导作用.  相似文献

We have investigated the shot noise spectral density in the parallel double-quantum-dot (DQD) interferometer threaded with an Aharonov-Bohm (AB) flux under the perturbation of ac fields. The derivations are based on the nonequilibrium Green’s function (NGF) technique in the Coulomb blockade regime. The AB flux and the perturbation of ac fields together provide a photon-assisted AB interferometer for controlling the shot noise efficiently. The signature of the shot noise reflects the intrinsic microstructure of the DQD system, which plays important roles for the enhancement and suppression of shot noise. The versatile resonant structures of shot noise, Fano factor have been revealed to exhibit the sub-Poissonian and super-Poissonian types of shot noise by adjusting the gate voltages sequentially.  相似文献

Persistent current and transmission probability in the Aharonov-Bohm (AB) ring with an embedded quantum dot (QD) are studied using the technique of the scattering matrix. For the first time, we find that the persistent current can arise in the absence of magnetic flux in the ring with an embedded QD. The persistent current and the transmission probability are sensitive to the lead-ring coupling and the short-range potential barrier. It is shown that increasing the lead-ring coupling or the short-range potential barrier causes the suppression of the persistent current and the increasing resonance width of the transmission probability. The effect of the potential barrier on the number of the transmission peaks is also investigated. The dependence of the persistent current and the transmission probability on the magnetic flux exhibits a periodic property with period of the flux quantum.  相似文献

Measurements of elastic and inelastic cotunneling currents are presented on a two-terminal Aharonov-Bohm interferometer with a Coulomb-blockaded quantum dot embedded in each arm. Coherent current contributions, even in a magnetic field, are found in the nonlinear regime of inelastic cotunneling at a finite-bias voltage. The phase of the Aharonov-Bohm oscillations in the current exhibits phase jumps of pi at the onsets of inelastic processes. We suggest that additional coherent elastic processes occur via the excited state. Our measurement technique allows the detection of such processes on a background of other inelastic current contributions and contains qualitative information about the ratio of transport and inelastic relaxation rates.  相似文献

We study current and heat of an Aharonov-Bohm ring with a quantum dot, and find that the circulating current can be modulated by the transport current. We analyze inelastic cotunneling through an interacting quantum dot subject to an ambient magnetic field in the weak tunneling regime under a non-adiabatic time-dependent bias-voltage. Our results clearly exhibit photon-assisted satellites and an overall suppression of differential conductance with increasing driving amplitude, which is consistent with experiments. We also predict a zero-anomaly in differential conductance under an appropriate driving frequency.  相似文献

A mesoscale Aharonov-Bohm (AB) ring with a quantum dot (QD) embedded in each arm is computationally modeled for unique transmission properties arising from a combination of AB effects and Zeeman splitting of the QD energy levels. A tight-binding Hamiltonian is solved, providing analytical expressions for the transmission as a function of system parameters. Transmission resonances with spin-polarized output are presented for cases involving either a perpendicular field, or a parallel field, or both. The combination of the AB-effect with Zeeman splitting allows sensitive control of the output resonances of the device, manifesting in spin-polarized states which separate and cross as a function of applied field. In the case with perpendicular flux, the AB-oscillations exhibit atypical non-periodicity, and Fano-type resonances appear as a function of magnetic flux due to the flux-dependent shift in the QD energy levels via the Zeeman effect.  相似文献
