Conjugated polymers have been the subject of many studies because of their widespread applications in electronic and optoelectronic devices. Poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) is a leading semiconducting polymer in optical applications. This work is focused on the development of thin films of poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) by spin coating and their characterization with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy to understand their changes. An empirical model has been developed to show the effect of the variables—the spin speed, polymer concentration, and spin time—on the film thickness. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Ba(ZrxTi1−x)O3 (BZT) thin films were deposited via sol–gel process on LaNiO3, as buffer layer, and Pt-coated silicon substrates. The BZT films were perovskite phase and showed a (1 0 0) preferred orientation dependent upon zirconium content. The grain size decreased and the microstructure became dense with increasing zirconium content. The addition of Zr to the BaTiO3 lattice decreased the grain size of the crystallized films. The temperature dependent dielectric constant revealed that the thin films have relaxor behavior and diffuse phase transition characteristics that depend on the substitution of Zr for Ti in BaTiO3. The dependence of electrical properties on film thickness has been studied, with the emphasis placed on dielectric nonlinear characteristics. Ba(Zr0.35Ti65)O3 thin films with weak temperature dependence of tunability in the temperature range from 0 to 130 °C could be attractive materials for situations in which precise control of temperature would be either impossible or too expensive.  相似文献

A poly(acrylamidoglycolic acid-co-acrylamide) [poly(AAGA-co-AAm)] hydrogel was prepared by copolymerising 2-acrylamidoglycolic acid (AAGA) with acrylamide (AAm). The copolymer hydrogel composition and structure was characterised by FTIR spectroscopy and elemental microanalysis and found to contain 3.5 AAGA monomer units for each AAm monomer unit. This was similar to the monomer ratios used in the synthesis. The metal ion binding properties of the hydrogel were characterised for a range of metal ions (Cu2+, Cd2+, K+, Na+, Mg2+ and Ca2+) under varying conditions of pH, ionic strength, metal concentration and time. The hydrogel was shown to bind Cu2+ and Cd2+ strongly under non-competitive binding conditions, with binding capacities of 5.3 and 5.1 μmol cm−2, respectively. The binding capacity of each metal decreased, under competitive binding conditions (with a range of metal ions present at 17.8 μN), to 1.3 and 0.17 μmol cm−2, respectively, indicating stronger selectivity for Cu2+. The metal ions were readily recovered (>94%) by eluting with 2 M nitric acid solution for 24 h. The binding capacities for Cu2+ and Cd2+ were also found to decrease with increasing ionic strength and at pH values <5. The copolymer was found to have an equilibrium swelling ratio (qw) of over 500 at a maxima of pH 5.4 and at low ionic strengths. Finally, the copolymer hydrogel was tested as a binding phase with the diffusive gradients in thin films technique. A linear mass vs. time relationship was observed for Cu2+ in synthetic Windermere water with a recovery of approximately 100%.  相似文献

Thin films of (Cu/In/Se) were fabricated by evaporated elemental layers of Cu, In and Se on Si (1 0 0) and on glass substrates at TS = 250 °C. Films with phase chalcopyrite structure and strong (1 1 2) preferred orientation were produced. EDX showed uniform compositional properties of the films over a substrate area of 1 cm2. The optical energy band gap of 0.984 eV was obtained and photoluminescence measurements have been carried out in as-deposited polycrystalline Cu/In/Se thin films deposited onto (1 0 0) oriented Si wafers doped with 1015 cm−3 of boron. The PL spectra of CuInSe2 show emission peaks at 0.87 eV ranging from 0.75 to 0.98 eV. The broad emission band is ascribed to donor–acceptor pair (DAP) transition.  相似文献
