A text is a triple=(, 1, 2) such that is a labeling function, and 1 and 2 are linear orders on the domain of ; hence may be seen as a word (, 1) together with an additional linear order 2 on the domain of . The order 2 is used to give to the word (, 1) itsindividual hierarchical representation (syntactic structure) which may be a tree but it may be also more general than a tree. In this paper we introducecontext-free grammars for texts and investigate their basic properties. Since each text has its own individual structure, the role of such a grammar should be that of a definition of a pattern common to all individual texts. This leads to the notion of ashapely context-free text grammar also investigated in this paper.  相似文献

Let H be a separable Hilbert space. We consider the manifold M consisting of density operators on H such that p is of trace class for some p (0, 1). We say M is nearby if there exists C > 1 such that C –1C. We show that the space of nearby points to can be furnished with the two flat connections known as the (±)-affine structures, which are dual relative to the BKM metric. Schedulers for larger classes of pinwheel instances   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The pinwheel is a hard-real-time scheduling problem for scheduling satellite ground stations to service a number of satellites without data loss. Given a multiset of positive integers (instance)A={a1,..., an}, the problem is to find an infinite sequence (schedule) of symbols from {1,2,...,n} such that there is at least one symboli within any interval of ai symbols (slots). Not all instancesA can be scheduled; for example, no successful schedule exists for instances whose density,(A)= i i (l/ai), is larger than 1. It has been shown that all instances whose densities are less than a 0.5 density threshold can always be scheduled. If a schedule exists, another concern is the design of a fast on-line scheduler (FOLS) which can generate each symbol of the schedule in constant time. Based on the idea of integer reduction, two new FOLSs which can schedule different classes of pinwheel instances, are proposed in this paper. One uses single-integer reduction and the other uses double-integer reduction. They both improve the previous 0.5 result and have density thresholds of 13/20 and2/3, respectively. When verifying concurrent systems described by transition systems, state explosion is one of the most serious problems. If quantitative temporal information (expressed by clock ticks) is considered, state explosion is even more serious. We present a notion of abstraction of transition systems, where the abstraction is driven by the formulae of a quantitative temporal logic, called qu-mu-calculus, defined in the paper. The abstraction is based on a notion of bisimulation equivalence, called , n-equivalence, where is a set of actions and n is a natural number. It is proved that two transition systems are , n-equivalent iff they give the same truth value to all qu-mu-calculus formulae such that the actions occurring in the modal operators are contained in , and with time constraints whose values are less than or equal to n. We present a non-standard (abstract) semantics for a timed process algebra able to produce reduced transition systems for checking formulae. The abstract semantics, parametric with respect to a set of actions and a natural number n, produces a reduced transition system , n-equivalent to the standard one. A transformational method is also defined, by means of which it is possible to syntactically transform a program into a smaller one, still preserving , n-equivalence.  相似文献

Unification algorithms have been constructed for semigroups and commutative semigroups. This paper considers the intermediate case of partially commutative semigroups. We introduce classesN and of such semigroups and justify their use. We present an equation-solving algorithm for any member of the classN. This algorithm is relative to having an algorithm to determine all non-negative solutions of a certain class of diophantine equations of degree 2 which we call -equations. The difficulties arising when attempting to solve equations in members of the class are discussed, and we present arguments that strongly suggest that unification in these semigroups is undecidable.  相似文献

This paper presents generated enhancements for robust two and three-quarter dimensional meshing, including: (1) automated interval assignment by integer programming for submapped surfaces and volumes, (2) surface submapping, and (3) volume submapping. An introduction to the simplex method, an optimization technique of integer programming, is presented. Simplification of complex geometry is required for the formulation of the integer programming problem. A method of i-j unfolding is defined which explains how irregular geometry can be realigned into a simplified form that is suitable for submap interval assignment solutions. Also presented is the processes by which submapping eliminates the decomposition of surface geometry, through a pseudodecomposition process, producing suitable mapped meshes. The process of submapping involves the creation of interpolated virtual edges, user defined vertex types and i-j-k space traversals. The creation of interpolated virtual edges is the method by which submapping automatically subdivides surface geometry. The interpolated virtual edge is formulated according to an interpolation scheme using the node discretization of curves on the surface. User defined vertex types allow direct user control of surface decomposition and interval assignment by modifying i-j-k space traversals. Volume submapping takes the geometry decomposition to a higher level by using mapped virtual surfaces to eliminate decomposition of complex volumes.  相似文献

Let us associate to any binary planar shape X the erosion curve X defined by X: r IRXA(XrB), where A(X) stands for the surface area of X and XrB for the eroded set of X with respect to the ball rB of size r. Note the analogy to shape quantification by granulometry. This paper describes the relationship between sets X and Y verifying X = Y. Under some regularity conditions on X, X is expressed as an integral on its skeleton of the quench function q X(distance to the boundary of X). We first prove that a bending of arcs of the skeleton of X does not affect X: quantifies soft shapes. We then prove, in the generic case, that the five possible cases of behavior of the second derivative X characterize five different situations on the skeleton Sk(X) and on the quench function q X: simple points of Sk(X) where q Xis a local minimum, a local maximum, or neither, multiple points of Sk(X) where q Xis a local maximum or not. Finally, we give infinitesimal generators of the reconstruction process for the entire family of shapes Y verifying X = Y for a given X.  相似文献

It is a commonly occurring problem to find good norms · or logarithmic norms (·) for a given matrix in the sense that they should be close to respectively the spectral radius (A) and the spectral abscissa (A). Examples may be the certification thatA is convergent, i.e. (A)A<1 or stable, i.e. (A)(A)<0. Often the ordinary norms do not suffice and one would like to try simple modifications of them such as using an ordinary norm for a diagonally transformed matrix. This paper treats this problem for some of the ordinary norms.

Conditions are presented under which the maximum of the Kolmogorov complexity (algorithmic entropy) K(1... N ) is attained, given the cost f( i ) of a message 1... N . Various extremal relations between the message cost and the Kolmogorov complexity are also considered; in particular, the minimization problem for the function f( i ) – K(1... N ) is studied. The subject of this paper is very high precision parameter estimation using the Hough transform. We identify various problems that adversely affect the accuracy of the Hough transform and propose a new, high accuracy method that consists of smoothing the Hough arrayH(, ) prior to finding its peak location and interpolating about this peak to find a final sub-bucket peak. We also investigate the effect of the quantizations and ofH(, ) on the final accuracy. We consider in detail the case of finding the parameters of a straight line. Using extensive simulation and a number of experiments on calibrated targets, we compare the accuracy of the method with results from the standard Hough transform method of taking the quantized peak coordinates, with results from taking the centroid about the peak, and with results from least squares fitting. The largest set of simulations cover a range of line lengths and Gaussian zero-mean noise distributions. This noise model is ideally suited to the least squares method, and yet the results from the method compare favorably. Compared to the centroid or to standard Hough estimates, the results are significantly better—for the standard Hough estimates by a factor of 3 to 10. In addition, the simulations show that as and are increased (i.e., made coarser), the sub-bucket interpolation maintains a high level of accuracy. Experiments using real images are also described, and in these the new method has errors smaller by a factor of 3 or more compared to the standard Hough estimates.  相似文献

This paper describes a unified variational theory for design sensitivity analysis of nonlinear dynamic response of structural and mechanical systems for shape, nonshape, material and mechanical properties selection, as well as control problems. The concept of an adjoint system, the principle of virtual work and a Lagrangian-Eulerian formulation to describe the deformations and the design variations are used to develop a unified view point. A general formula for design sensitivity analysis is derived and interpreted for usual performance functionals. Analytical examples are utilized to demonstrate the use of the theory and give insights for application to more complex problems that must be treated numerically.Derivatives The comma notation for partial derivatives is used, i.e. G,u = G/u. Harnad's proposed robotic upgrade of Turing's Test (TT), from a test of linguistic capacity alone to a Total Turing Test (TTT) of linguisticand sensorimotor capacity, conflicts with his claim that no behavioral test provides even probable warrant for attributions of thought because there is no evidence of consciousness besides private experience. Intuitive, scientific, and philosophical considerations Harnad offers in favor of his proposed upgrade are unconvincing. I agree with Harnad that distinguishing real from as if thought on the basis of (presence or lack of) consciousness (thus rejecting Turing (behavioral) testing as sufficient warrant for mental attribution)has the skeptical consequence Harnad accepts — there is in factno evidence for me that anyone else but me has a mind. I disagree with hisacceptance of it! It would be better to give up the neo-Cartesian faith in private conscious experience underlying Harnad's allegiance to Searle's controversial Chinese Room Experiment than give up all claim to know others think. It would be better to allow that (passing) Turing's Test evidences — evenstrongly evidences — thought.  相似文献

Our purpose is to give a simple proof for Geffert's result and then sharpen it into the form where both of the morphisms are nonerasing. In our method we modify constructions used in a representation of recursively enumerable languages in terms of equality sets and in a characterization of simple transducers in terms of morphisms.
