New dyes that not only give good fixation levels but also relatively low substantivity in the hydrolysed form were the targets of this research. Our approach involved lowering the substantivity of the hydrolysed dye by reducing the planarity that is required for dyes to have high substantivity on cotton. In this regard, bifunctional bis-dichlorotriazine (bis-DCT) and tetrafunctional bis-monochlorotriazine/bis-sulphatoethyl sulphone [bis-(MCT/SES)] reactive dyes were made, using selected diaminobiphenyls. Bis-DCT bifunctional reactive dyes were applied to cotton by a pad–batch method, while bis-(MCT/SES) tetrafunctional reactive dyes were applied to cotton by a pad–dry–cure. Following dye application, it was found that the resultant hydrolysed dyes easily washed off the fibre surface and that the dyed cotton fabrics had colour fastness to rubbing and laundering properties that were comparable with the commercial prototypes used in this study. However, it is also apparent that the combination of relatively low water solubility and large molecular size has an adverse effect on fibre penetration.  相似文献

Preparation of superior humidity-control materials from kenaf   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Charcoals were prepared by carbonizing kenaf at temperature between 400 °C and 1,000 °C and their specific surface areas, pore volumes, iodine adsorption capacities and amounts of water vapor absorbed were measured. By comparing the properties of the core charcoal and the bark charcoal, it was found that specific surface areas, pore volumes and iodine adsorption capacities of the former were larger than those of the latter. Most of the obtained values were roughly similar to those of common wood charcoals, while humidity-control capacities (W hc) of charcoals were much larger than those of common wood charcoals. The reason for this is believed to be the presence of potassium in kenaf charcoals. The extraction of potassium by water washing gave W hc values similar to those of common wood charcoals, and the larger the W hc values of original charcoals were, the larger amounts of potassium removed were. Moreover, it was indicated that carbonization at higher temperature helped expose potassium on the pore wall surfaces that had been covered and thus enhanced W hc values.  相似文献

Thin-layer chromatography and gas-liquid chromatography were used to separate and identify products from the autoxidation of cholesterol. Both cholesterol-a-epoxide and 1,4-cholestadien-3-one were found. In addition, several other compounds, identified also by previous workers, were shown to be present. Autoxidation in bulk was quite slow at 82C, requiring several weeks for development of detectable quantities of decomposition products. The reaction could be accelerated by irradiation with ultraviolet light or by heating the sterol above its melting point.  相似文献

Crosslinked polydiallylamine (Sirorez Au1) was prepared by the redox-initiated (K2S2O8/TiCl3) polymerization of freshly distilled diallylamine [containing 2% 1,6-bis(N,N-diallylamino)hexane] as a 30% solution in 80% phosphoric acid at 0°C. The resulting crosslinked resin is thoroughly washed with water and then sodium hydroxide solution (10%) before a final distilled water washing and air drying. Polydiallylamine resin containing ? 50% by weight gold was prepared by soaking the above resin in a three fold molar excess of gold cyanide solution (2 g/L at pH 8.5) overnight and then filtering the resin, washing with distilled water, and air drying. The samples were dried for 24 h over P2O5 before combustion.  相似文献
