本文采用第一性原理的方法系统研究了UO2的晶体结构、电子结构和弹性性质. 在计算中采用广义梯度近似结合Hubbard U项描述电子的局域强关联效应. 首先通过计算能带带隙大小并与理论值比较的方法, 得到了合理的有效库仑相关作用能(Ueff)的取值, 同时通过态密度的计算, 进一步验证了Ueff取值的合理性. 计算得到UO2中U原子的Ueff值为3.30 eV (Ueff=U-J, U=3.70 eV, J=0.40 eV). 应用此参数计算得到的UO2晶格常数为5.54 Å, 带隙宽度为2.17 eV. 该结果优于目前现有的研究结果, 同时在同样的Ueff值条件下计算所得到的弹性常数与实验值也符合得较好. 相较于之前的基于实验测量并分析得到的Ueff值, 我们所采用的方法在对UO2性质描述上更为准确. 不同的有效库仑相关作用能取值下的态密度结果表明, 有效库仑相关作用能的大小可以影响铀原子5f电子轨道的分布.  相似文献

基于第一性原理全势线性缀加平面波方法和局域密度近似(LDA),对ReSi1.75的基态晶格属性进行了研究.结构优化的结果表明,ReSi1.75的基态平衡晶格常数比实验值小约0.6%.在LDA计算基础上,考虑局域的Re的d电子库仑作用,用LDA+U方法计算了ReSi1.75的电子结构,发现当Ueff=U-J=4.4 eV时,能带结构呈半导体性质.具有0.12 ev的间接能隙和0.36 ev的直接能隙.有效质量计算结果表明,ReSi1.75晶体具有强烈的各向异性.Resi1.75的态密度在费米能级附近变化剧烈,通过掺杂改变材料的费米能级位置,有望提高材料的热电性能.  相似文献

基于密度泛函理论结合投影缀加平面波方法, 通过VASP软件包执行计算, 在分别考虑电子自旋阻挫共线与非共线的磁性结构基础上, 研究了正交结构下多铁性DyMnO3材料在不同磁性构型下的晶格参数、总能、磁性、电子态密度和能带结构. 计算过程中选取广义梯度近似赝势, 同时使用局域自旋密度近似+U方法处理强关联作用下3d电子的计算结果. 计算结果表明: Mn离子为A型反铁磁态磁性构型的情况下能量最低结构最为稳定, Dy稀土离子磁性甚微, 可忽略不计; 当考虑电子自旋为非共线排列时, 正交DyMnO3的总能提高、磁矩增大; 从电子结构图分析可知, 材料为间接能隙绝缘体, 能隙宽度约为0.38 eV, 加U后为1.36 eV, 导致晶格畸变的主要原因为Mn-3d与O-2p电子之间强烈的杂化作用. 关键词: 多铁性 反铁磁 密度泛函理论 非共线  相似文献

基于考虑了Ce-4f电子间的库仑作用U和交换作用J的LDA+U方案,应用第一性原理计算系统研究了CeO2的电子结构,光学和晶格动力学性质.电荷密度和电子局域函数的分布特征表明,CeO2是属于共价键的绝缘体.介电常数、玻恩有效电荷张量和声子色散曲线的计算值和相应的实验结果符合得比较好. 关键词: 电子结构 光学性质 晶格动力学 第一性原理计算  相似文献

基于密度泛函理论的全势能线性缀加平面波方法(FLAPW),采用局域自旋密度近似(LSDA)及LSDA+U方法报道了Pu基超导体系PuCoGa5的晶格参数,原子占位和电子性质.LSDA+U方法不仅考虑Pu-5f而且考虑了Co-3d的库伦排斥作用U和Hund交换相关作用J.结果表明LSDA+U在同时考虑Pu和Co的强关联作用时晶格参数和原子占位与相关理论和实验数据吻合较好,特别是PuCoGa5中Pu-5f的强定域特征尤其是自旋向下的电子.此外,Pu-5f与Co-3d电子的轨道杂化明显强于Ga-4p电子.  相似文献

构建只含有一种过渡金属元素的half-Heusler合金VLiBi和CrLiBi.采用第一性原理的全势能线性缀加平面波方法计算half-Heusler合金VLiBi和CrLiBi的电子结构.计算结果表明,VLiBi和CrLiBi是半金属性铁磁体,它们的半金属隙分别是0.25 eV和0.46 eV,晶胞总磁矩分别为3.00 μB和4.00 μB.磁性计算结果显示,晶胞总磁矩主要来源于V和Cr的原子磁矩,Li和Bi的原子磁矩较弱,而且Bi的原子磁矩为负值.利用平均场近似方法计算合金的居里温度TC,VLiBi和CrLiBi的居里温度(TC)的估算值分别为1401 K和1551 K.使晶格常数在±10%的范围内变化,分别计算VLiBi和CrLiBi的电子结构.计算研究表明,晶格常数在-5.6%–10%和-6.9%–10%的范围内变化时VLiBi和CrLiBi仍具有半金属性,并且晶胞总磁矩稳定于3.00 μB和4.00 μB.采用局域密度近似(LDA)+U(电子库仑相互作用项)的方法计算VLiBi和CrLiBi的电子结构,当U的取值增大到5 eV时VLiBi和CrLiBi仍保持半金属性.此外,采用考虑自旋-轨道耦合(spin-orbit coupling,SOC)效应的广义梯度近似(GGA)+SOC方法计算VLiBi和CrLiBi的电子结构,计算结果显示有微弱的自旋向下能带穿过费米能级,此时VLiBi和CrLiBi在费米面处的自旋极化率分别为98.8%和94.3%,它们的晶胞总磁矩分别为3.03 μB和4.04 μB.VLiBi的半金属性几乎不受SOC效应的影响,而CrLiBi在费米面处仍有较高的自旋极化率.  相似文献

运用基于密度泛函理论的赝势平面波方法计算了M’型GdTaO4的电子结构.结果表明:M’型GdTaO4价带顶主要由O-2p电子构成,导带底由Ta-5d的e轨道电子构成;当Ueff=8 eV时,自旋向上和自旋向下的Gd-4f电子分别局域于价带顶以下627 eV和导带底以上301 eV处;计算得到M’型GdTaO4的折射率为224,与应用半经验的Gladstone-Dale关系得到的结果符合得很好. 关键词: M’型钽酸钆 第一性原理计算 能带 态密度  相似文献

基于密度泛函理论的第一性原理平面波超软赝势法, 采用局域自旋密度近似加Hubbard U值方法研究了纯锐钛矿型TiO2, N, Cu单掺杂TiO2及N/Cu共掺杂TiO2 的晶体结构、电子结构和光学性质. 研究结果表明, 掺杂后晶格发生相应畸变, 晶格常数变大. N 和Cu的掺杂在TiO2禁带中引入杂质能级, 禁带宽度发生相应改变. 对于N掺杂TiO2禁带宽度减小较弱, 而Cu掺杂和N/Cu共掺TiO2禁带宽度显著降低, 导致吸收光谱明显红移, 光学催化性增强, 有利于实际应用.  相似文献

The structural, electronic and optical properties of mercury cadmium telluride (Hg1?xCdxTe; x = 0.0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75) alloys are studied using density functional theory within full-potential linearized augmented plane wave method. We used the local density approximation (LDA), generalized gradient approximation (GGA), hybrid potentials, the modified Becke–Johnson (LDA/GGA)-mjb and Hubbard-corrected functionals (GGA/LDA + U), for the exchange-correlation potential (Eex). We found that LDA functional predicts better lattice constants than GGA functional, whereas, both functionals fail to predict the correct electronic structure. However, the hybrid functionals were more successful. For the case of HgTe binary alloy, the GGA + U functional predicted a semi-metallic behaviour with an inverted band gap of ?0.539 eV, which is closest to the experimental value (?0.30 eV). Ternary alloys, however, are found to be semiconductors with direct band gaps. For the x = 0.25 and 0.50, the best band gaps are found to be 0.39 and 0.81 eV using LDA-mbj functional, whereas, the GGA-mbj functional predicted the best band gap of 1.09 eV for Hg0.25Cd0.75Te alloy, which is in a very good agreement with the experimental value (1.061 eV). The optical properties of the alloys are obtained by calculating the dielectric function ?(ω). The peaks of the optical dielectric functions are consistent with the electronic gap energies of the alloys.  相似文献

采用完全势线性缀加平面波方法(FP-LAPW)结合密度泛函+U(DFT+U)模型计算了金红石相VO2的电子结构和光学性质. 电子态密度计算结果表明所采用的方法可以较好的描述体系的导带电子结构. 计算得到体系为导体,V-O键主要由O原子的2 p轨道与V原子的3 d轨道杂化形成,外加光场垂直和平行于c轴时体系的等离子振荡频率为3.44 eV和2.74 eV,光电导率在0-1 eV之间有一个与带内跃迁有关的德鲁德峰,而大于1 eV的光电导率主要由电子带间跃迁产生,得到并分析了带内跃迁过程和带间跃迁过程各自对反射谱和电子能量损失谱的贡献. 关键词: 光电性质 电子结构 缀加平面波方法 2')" href="#">VO2  相似文献

Electronic structure and magnetic properties of perovskite EuZrO3 have been investigated using the ab initio density-functional calculations with local spin density approximation (LSDA) and LSDA+U methods. The results that are obtained reveal that the antiferromagnetic G-type arrangement is more stable than other possible configurations. The ground G-AFM state shows the insulator property with an energy gap of about 0.27 eV at U=0 eV. It is found that the energy gap strongly depends on the correction potential parameter of U due to the strong interaction of the f electrons of Eu in EuZrO3. The spin magnetic moment of Eu ions is predited to be 6.82μB, which is in well agreement with the experimental result of 6.87μB.  相似文献

This study investigates the optical properties of selected metal oxides due to their high dielectric constants. The local-spin-density approximation plus Hubbard U (commonly called LDA+U) is used in a study of the structural, mechanical and optical properties of UO2. The inclusion of a Hubbard U correction to 5f electrons of uranium changes UO2 from a metal to an insulator and, therefore, has a dramatic effect on the localisation of the electron spin and charge density of uranium. However although the band gap can be reproduced using the effective U parameter, which is equal to 3.5 eV and optical properties were calculated in our previous work, it is difficult to calculate ionic contribution to the static dielectric constant within LDA+U formalism for this compound. It is shown in the present work that the electronic structures of both ceria and thoria exhibit similarities to urania within LDA or PBE functional implementations. Within this functional and linear response theory one can easily calculate static dielectric permittivity and it is shown that in agreement with experiment the predicted values are an order of magnitude larger than the dielectric constant of SiO2. In this work, high accuracy, first-principles calculations are also used to compare properties of urania versus ceria and thoria and how these similarities can help in understanding these compounds. It is also shown that the B3LYP functional predicts slightly overestimated band gaps for ceria and thoria as well as smaller than experimentally observed electronic contribution to the static dielectric constant, while the index of refraction is well reproduced for thoria.  相似文献

We have calculated the structural, magnetic and electronic properties of corundum-type α-Fe2O3 from first principles using density-functional theory (DFT) and the DFT?+?U method to account for correlation effects in this material. Although the correct magnetic ground state is obtained by pure DFT, the magnetic moments and the band gap are too small, and the predicted structural phase transition coupled with a transition from the insulating high-spin to a metallic low-spin phase at a pressure of 14?GPa is not observed experimentally. We find that considering the Coulomb interaction directly by including a Hubbard-like term U in the density functional greatly improves the results with respect to band gap and magnetic moments. The phase transition is shifted to higher pressures with increasing values of U and disappears for U?>?3?eV. The best overall agreement of structural, magnetic and electronic properties with experimental data is obtained for U?=?4?eV.  相似文献

The electronic structure, elastic constants, Poisson's ratio, and phonon dispersion curves of UC have been systematically investigated from the first-principles calculations by the projector-augmented-wave (PAW) method. In order to describe precisely the strong on-site Coulomb repulsion among the localized U 5f electrons, we adopt the local density approximation (LDA)+U and generalized gradient approximation (GGA)+U formalisms for the exchange correlation term. We systematically study how the electronic properties and elastic constants of UC are affected by the different choice of U as well as the exchange-correlation potential. We show that by choosing an appropriate Hubbard U parameter within the GGA+U approach, most of our calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental data. Therefore, the results obtained by the GGA+U with effective Hubbard parameter U chosen around 3 eV for UC are considered to be reasonable.  相似文献

Local density approximation (LDA) and Green function effective Coulomb (GW) calculations are performed to investigate the effect of electronic correlations on the electronic properties of both graphene and graphane. The size of band gap in graphane increases from 3.7 eV in LDA to 4.9 eV in GW approximation. By calculating maximally localized Wannier wave functions, we evaluate the necessary integrals to get the Hubbard U and the exchange J interaction from first principles for both graphene and graphane. Our ab-initio estimates indicate that in the case of graphene, in addition to the hopping amplitude t ~ 2.8 eV giving rise to the Dirac nature of low lying excitations, the Hubbard U value of ~8.7 eV gives rise to a super-exchange strength of J AFM ~ 3.5 eV. This value dominates over the direct (ferromagnetic) exchange value of J FM ~ 1.6 eV. This brings substantial Mott-Heisenberg aspects into the problem of graphene. Moreover, similarly large values of the Hubbard and super-exchange strength in graphane suggests that the nature of gap in graphane has substantial Mott character.  相似文献
